I've never heard anything about this cartoon. It's probably the only DC Cartoon that's completely forgotten.
It was an alright cartoon.
>tfw you will never have a gf that can split into three copies of herself.
Don't forget that Brainiac was super gay for Superman.
Infectious Lass is mai waifu
>dat sexy Triplicate Girl
>Badass Bouncing Boy
>showing that Matter Eater Lad is legit cool as hell
To be fair, they were kinda forced to. By the time the second season had hit, alongside The Batman's fifth season did, the execs ran some focus testing. They found out children didn't like Bouncing Boy, so they forced the showrunners to reduce his role. They also reduced the role of other female characters, which is why Saturn Girl is in a coma for half a season and they scrapped the whole season plot with Alexis Luthor to use Braininac 1.0 instead.
Meanwhile, The Batman became a "No Girls Allowed" show, with Batgirl's role being reduced severely and a sausage fest Justice League.
>It's probably the only DC Cartoon that's completely forgotten
>couldn't watch this shit because all the guys kept giving me a boner
>kept having fantasies about being a weak helpless slave to superboy and superclone
>fantasies about being a bitch for the wolfy in a night where he got on a rut
>fantasies about a shocking sex torture with lighting
>fantasies about being strapped into a machine by brainiac
>all this shit was upped to 11 on the second season because they looked bigger and buffed.
And I was only 11~13 at the time.
I only caught a few episodes, but can anyway explain what was up with Superman X? He seems super dumb and the edgy.
No one ever stays dead when super heroes are involved.
theres actually a pretty good rip out there. i just forget where i got them from
did they ever use Phantom girl heavily outside of this? or is she a super C-tier hero.
Loved it, tried to read the comics and couldn't stand them. The cartoons in general have a way of distilling the content in the comics for better or for worse. I rarely read anything Justice League related, but I can watch the cartoon for hours.
>Superman X aka Kell-El was born in the 41st century and is a clone of the 21st century hero Superman. Created by the digitized gestalt inventor K3NT using DNA from the first Superman, Superman X was genetically conceived to possess all of Superman's strengths, but none of his weaknesses. Unlike the original Superman, Superman X was not vulnerable to the effects of Kryptonite. In fact, his body actually produced Kryptonite radiation, which he could channel and project in the form of concentrated blasts of energy from his hands.
Jesus Christ, This is so edgy it almost stabbed me through the monitor
>They also reduced the role of other female characters, which is why Saturn Girl is in a coma for half a season
How dare they bench my waifu. Kids have the worst taste.
On the plus side, Imra was voiced by Kari Wahlgren. Delicious.
>Kids have the worst taste
Yeah, they aren't the only ones
>Actually introduced Grimbor the Chainsman in the series
>Briefly interested in his episode since it might mean seeing Saturn Girl or Duo Damsel in a distress scene
>Episode airs, all the gals are given the day off and the show comes off with a gay-bdsm theme
They really blew an opportunity right there
>They also reduced the role of other female characters, which is why Saturn Girl is in a coma for half a season and they scrapped the whole season plot with Alexis Luthor to use Braininac 1.0 instead.
Not even saying this ironically
Mattel is fucking cancer. They've completely destroyed DC's mass market toy presence.
There are no DC toys on the shelves anymore. DC needs to pull the license because holy shit
First season is kind of mediocre, second season is good though since there's an actual plot.
Universo Project is probably my favorite Legion story. It's kind of a hard franchise to recommend though since a lot of it boils down to "just read the whole run"
I really like that bit; those two actually had some really nice chemistry.
Tinya is up there with the best Legion girls.
I forget, did her mom ever appear in the cartoon?
>Universo Project is probably my favorite Legion story.
You've got excellent taste, my friend.
Probably the only outright bad Legion runs are maybe 5YL (Five Years Later) era after Giffen leaves, Shooter's Threeboot, and Levitz's pre-Flashpoint/new 52 run. Though the Secret Origin mini from Levitz was mostly ok.
For the original Legion the best stuff is probably Levitz's two runs. Maybe Shooter if you don't mind silver age. Then for the Reboot (post-Zero Hour) the best part of it is the DnA run, but the Peyer stuff before it is pretty cute. Threeboot (starts around Infinite Crisis) is good until Waid leaves. Johns Retroboot (sort of brings back the Legion from around COIE) is mostly good too but he kind of bailed to do Blackest Night before he developed whatever it was he was planning.
The last straw for me wasn't BB getting jobbed or the shoe-horned sullen Superwolverine, it was that they made Superwolverine a team leader.
Yes she does! One of the best Eps is S1E5 where she oversees an Intergalactic Olympics that get attacked by the Fatal Five & they get their shit kicked in the LSH & other competitors which include Matter Eater Lad (who eats the Emerald Eye) & Jo Nah (who uses his one-at-a-time-powers).
Tinya & Jo also get appropriately goo-goo eyed at each other.
Either there was a paradigm shift in the last years or focus groups are purposely made to include only gay kids, because back in the 90s 'icky' was probably the last thing boys would describe Sailor Moon as.
Wow, President Bitchmom has a hell of a nope neck in this show.
Also I presume her assholishness was toned downed considerably, yes?
>clone of Superman who was given the personality of the person he was in legends, which over time had become completely skewed
That actually sounds like a interesting concept, but how did history turn him into someone so edgy? At this point wouldn't he be Jesus?
I fondly remember playing the Sailor Moon fighting game on the SNES emulator as a kid, though. Missed opportunity for them.
>TFW co-op with a friend and he kicks me into the water
>Every enemy is just in the way of our newfound war against each other
It makes more sense if you pretend Superboy X is based on Mon-El rather than Clark.
Lar Gand's deal is basically that he's like Superman, but with more of a "Fuck you, I'm the police." attitude. So the edgelord misconception is not completely unreasonable.
Maybe not, but when it came time to decide where to flip the channel, Sailor Moon was a pretty easy compromise. You prolly won't sell them merch, but you can make it up on advertising Nerf blasters and super soakers.
>You prolly won't sell them merch, but you can make it up on advertising Nerf blasters and super soakers.
And if you didn't have a Nielson box hooked up to your TV, then what you watched had 0 impact on ratings.
And I guarantee most families didn't have Nielson boxes.
The point of Kel was that he had Superman's power but none of his humanity, he was created to be a weapon with one target, Imperiex.
His whole character arc in the second season was living up to the legacy he represented and becoming a true hero who cared about other people more than his mission.
Despite his super edgelord exterior, I found him to be a likable character. His development really shown through in the episode he has to protect a kid from some bounty hunters.
The second season was an improvement, even with the retarded focus-test changes.
They had plans for more Legion members like Dawnstar and Blok, continuation of Brainiac 1.0, and the ghost of Ferro Lad.
When I first watched Power puff girls as a 7 year old my dad told me to watch a different show or I can turn the T.V off.
My dad hates it when boys watch shows or play video games that have female protagonists because he later told me that he wanted me to become more masculine starting at a young age, which actually worked. I never got off to girl protagonists, even today, and I've been playing sports and shit ever since I was in elementary.
I guess that's the reason I can't understand why 20+ year old men literally obsess over anime girls.
No idea, I saved it years ago from some Legion fansite.
Have some Ricken
