No, it isn't.

Full gems can work 24/7 and require nothing to survive. They don't need air and are immune to pretty much anything that would kill an organic being. Hell, gems like Garnet can swim in LAVA.

Half-breeds would require entire logistics and economic systems designed specifically for the production and distribution of necessities. They have to be clothed, they have to be fed, they have to be housed. They need to breathe and can't work in toxic, radioactive, or otherwise dangerous conditions.
