Have you seen it yet /co/?

It's actually pretty great.

>that quality animation
>set in autumn which almost all cartoons never do

I'm enjoying it so far.
>>
What is it and what's the premise? Sell me on this.
>>
I don't doubt that it might be good but

>quality animation
shill get the FUCK out
>>
whats with dad characters being fat and dumb in American adult cartoons, i know the Simpsons started it but really its been like 27 years since Simpsons rolled out that troupe
>>
>>78267808
It's like King of the Hill but for shitty families

the dad is angry short tempered guy whose happiness is being run dry by his leech of a family.

The kids are well, kids.
>>
>>78267830

The dad is not dumb, he's just an asshole.
>>
Eh, it's decent, the Stoner teen was a decent character
>>
>>78267789
Oh yeah, Netflix is my favorite show. I love all the characters in Netflix.
>>
>>78267816
Considering it's a low budget netflix cartoon the animation is better than it should be so yeah, it's certainly quality animation in terms of the circumstances
>>
>>78267853
It's called F is for Family ,smartass
>>
>>78267830
American dads are genuinely assholes. It emulates reality.
>>
>>78267789
>that face of a broken man
>that ginger kid who looks nothing like his "dad"
>>
>>78267843
homer started out kinda a asshole but with a heart, now he is a dumb asshole, the thing with these family cartoons is that Simpsons have done it . every situation no matter jumping the shark the Simpsons have done it. so what can this new series bring to the table
>>
>>78267789
>soft gray circles for shadows

THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY
>>
>>78267866
yeah but just because i'm an amputee who can play tic-tac-toe with my dick doesn't make me a good artist

the animation is fine don't oversell it
>>
>>78267816
I like the art style.
>>78267882
That was my next question, cheers Anon.

The Anon's of /co/ have turned me onto some really great contemporary cartoons in the few years I've been posting here, I hope this is another one.
>>
>>78268048
>I like the art style.
That's a different thing than animation.
>>
>>78267842
>>78267808
It's a sitcom starring Bill Burr, one of the least funny Irish assholes on the planet
>>
>>78267899
No.
>>78267830
It all goes back to the Honeymooners.

It basically invented the sitcom formula, and then the Flintstones was an animated Honeymooners, and animated sitcoms all ripped off the Flintstones and each other.
>>
>>78267816
Not OP but it has better animation than most modern adult cartoons.
>>
>>78268289
Yeah but being better than shit doesn't automatically make it "good" >>78267937
>>
>>78268179
Oh yeah, obviously! I was just saying since I haven't watched it yet I could only judge it on it's look, which appealed to me.
>>
>>78268476
You seem bitter.
>>
>>78267789
>set in autumn which almost all cartoons never do
aren't most SoL cartoons set (or at least start) in autumn, because that's when school starts in most countries
Granted, you might not get that it's "autumn" because they might not be in a state where autumn means anything but slightly colder weather, but being set in autumn doesn't really mean anything

It honestly doesn't look like a good cartoon
>>
>>78267789
Dermott Fictel?, Rusty venture, Luane, Nite-owl?
>>
>>78268395
>Oh yeah, obviously
but you didn't say that, asshole
>>
>>78267866
>considering
No, nigga, that isn't how this works. It's either good or bad and this shit looks bad.
>>
>>78267789
Watched it, it was okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It was mediocre. But hey there's tits and balls in it so there's that. They appear to quickly for anyone to get off to them.
>>
>>78268540
yeah, I'd defiantly say most are. for the reasons you said.
Most are fall. Back to school, sports, halloween etc.

Summer is next, for the "endless summer vacation" show.

Spring is pretty unheard of. Winter is rare. Southpark was unusual for being winter. Although that became a joke where it was snowing in CO, 11 out of 12 months. which iirc they stopped doing after a while.

Not Bojack Horseman/10

Although I did enjoy it, and I'm not even a fan of Bill Burr.

Also it's weird hearing Debbi Derryberry curse
>>

Give it a chance, it wasn't bad at all. You'd be an idiot not to prefer it to new Simpsons, Family Guy, or American Dad.

2nd episode.
It's ok but not that funny. KotH in the 70s.
>>
I watched all 6 episodes today. It was pretty good. The first episode is probably the weakest of the bunch. I felt bad for Kevin about what happened with Shire of Frodo.
>>
Someone really needs to make that waffle ironing man movie
>>
Just watched 3 episodes, it's alright. The character development is starting up though. But my only complaint is that it just feels cliche, like That 70's Show and King of the Hill had a bastard child.
>>
>>78268668
No, Life with Louie was in the early 60s. This show is in the early 70s. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Doesn't Laura Dern usually work with David Lynch?

It definitely gets better, that's for sure.
>>
>>78269308

Anthony Jeselnik, Louis CK, Patton Oswalt, George Carlin, Trevor Noah had one pretty good set, Michael Ian Black/Micheal Showalter/David Wain, David Cross.

Not bad, not sure what i was expecting.

Though i almost suspect the only reason they made it animated was doing period 70s stuff live action was probably more expensive, and child actors are a pain.

That's last 1 minute of the first episode hit way to close to home.
>father forgive his son and lets him watch the boxing match
>lets his son have a sip of beer
>"don't tell ya mother"
I still remember asking my dad for some water when I was younger and he couldn't be bothered getting up so he let me have some of his beer and then say "Don't tell your mum."
God, I miss being a child.

But yeah it was pretty good.
>>
>>78267866

No, I've seen far less budget animation that looked better. I'm not solely judging this show by it's animation but let's not be stupid here.
>>
>>78275651
I feel like the appeal to this show would be the same as any other sitcom: relatable situations. I'm not sure if it's good enough to stand on it's own.

Saw the first two episodes. It's all right, basically seems like an animated Married with Children but with more "fuck" being thrown around. Dysfunctional family sitcom is too common and while this one definitely one of the more accurate and down to earth dysfunctional families there's still nothing that makes me think "wow this is really great".
