Dulcinea being baffingly naive was a weird thing that they pushed for a couple of early episodes and then dropped in favor of just being overly nice (assuming Jack wasn't around to be a shit).
Which was for the best, they already had an entire set of orphan children to fill the role of naive exposition bait. I personally like the dynamic between Dulcinea and Puss more than Kitty Softpaws in general. She's not bad or anything, but she just feels too much like a female copy of Puss.

Puss in Boots is getting two more full seasons, perhaps more. A recent interview said 78 episodes were in production, but since that interview was last week, it's possible 78 more episodes are in production bringing the total to 104.

Either way, that's a good chunk of episodes.

Storyboard artists tend to be hired for their ability to quickly frame a shot and convey a general tone over technical skill, since storyboards aren't really supposed to be seen outside of development. That's not to say there aren't artists who draw meticulous storyboards, but it's not a prerequisite, especially not for a CG show where you don't have to worry about the characters being drawn off-model during animation.
