I suppose the art is okay, but those weird little "chibicat" moments are, well, weird. It's Kate Leth, so the writing's has that "modern" touch, by which I mean it's like someone trying too hard to be hip and teenage, a la Squirrel Girl. But, for whatever reason, that's what people are into.
For my opinion that no one asked for, this is probably going to be one of those comics that's at least "meh" but sells pretty well, or at least is advertised as selling well and being popular.

I don't see why /co/ sees Kate as such a boogeywoman. Sure, she's pretty awful and arrogant, but she's pretty much on a one way street towards implosion.

A lot of her detractors are afraid (and she hopes) that this book will be her ticket to the top and in a year, she'll be writing on the Avengers (having turned the entire team into nonbinary, genderqueer POCs) and get a writing credit on the new Captain Marvel movie, all while her ego swells and she regularly attends panels where she insults people who ask her how they can break into the biz

What'll probably happen is:

No. There's an in-universe Marvel Comics that publishes comics based on the adventures of actual superheroes, but they're not accurate to what actually happens. Marvel put out a series of comics in the early 00s that were supposed to be the in-universe Marvel Comics and they were really inaccurate. Yeah, but this actually has good, cute art as opposed to Squirrel Girl which is physically hard to look at. Plus it's really like issue 11 for Squirrel Girl so it makes sense that it would quickly settle back to where it left off before the relaunch. Relaunches are great for the initial boost in sales but that shit doesn't maintain. I imagine this'll do better than that.
