Because it's true. Kubo looks fucking incredible while everything else (Zootopia, Norm of The North, Secret Life of Pets, Angry Birds, and Kung-Pow Panda 3.) will just be mediocre/shit Dreamworks and Dreamworks-lite movies with soulless CGI and "Lol aren't we sassy?" jokes thrown in.

I respect that they're willing to make art for its own sake outside of the idea of finding mainstream success, but I do hope it does well. Laika deserves it.

We live in an era where movies have to spend half their budget on advertising or they flop.

It's pretty and all but I can't let myself have high hopes for Laika anymore. Coraline was fan fucking tastic and probably one of my favorite movies of all time but Paranorman and the Box Trolls were, although very pretty to look at, completely bland story-wise.
