I don't know, maybe you can think back on invincible 1-125 and see if you liked those. They already said the reboot won't be permanent, what are you worried about?

Just bought the digital version but cant download it till 12pm pst...lame

I just re-read the last issue in the main timeline.

>Space Racer had found God Emperor Freddy Mercury and everyone was preparing a strike on his baby making base.
>Oliver and Mark and a shitton of troops went to this planet.
>Freddy was nowhere to be found
>While searching the planet Mark goes into a cave and meets the alien tube thing
>Suddenly on the toilet.
>>
>>78225001

i was a little meh this whole arc but this final reveal some how made it worth it?

>>
>>78224944
You didn't have to manually fuck up, Mark!
You had a chance, you had a choice!
You were the unchosen one, you were supposed to unfuck up the unbalance!

It didn't have to be unlike this!
>>
>>78224990
The tentacles were kind of dicks about it. Would have made more sense to not reveal themselves again until the time line had reached the point of Mark being back where he was chronologically. Instead their basic premise is "If you know the future, you can make things better!" which only works so far until the butterfly affect takes over and everything changes and the shit you knew about the future doesn't work any more.

Instead he gets the "We'll sacrifice one universe for another" proposition and rightly tells them to fuck off with that shit. Which is odd considering if you've got the power to toss someone back in time and spawn another universe, they should be able to make a copy of a person. Still, the proposition of "give up everything you've ever known because we tell you it's 'good'" is a shitty offer, especially when they won't explain anything about whatever cosmic balance nonsense they're trying to pass off.
>>
>>78225245
Freddy's a nickname for Thragg due to his resemblance to Freddy Mercury.
>>
>>78225306

In that case yeah Oliver might be K.I.A. Fuck.

>>78225312
>Terry Fitzgerald' eve

>>
>>78224830
>This world you inhabit, your past...it is very real.
I'm not sure or convinced Kirkman is that clever and detailed, but I have to wonder if this is leading to some kind of Butterfly Effect-Angstrom-esque shenanigans where in this alternate timeline the Mark here just wakes up blank minded about things and suddenly fearing for his ass about all the supposedly dire things future Mark didn't write down or inform him. So he goes on a hellbent quest to time travel and figure it out only to become corrupted.

I'm trying to speculate where such a thing could go but it's hard to really pinpoint it. Differences I imagine are not only are several people not dead, but he probably doesn't have Amber or Eve to make him softer, he probably suddenly has powers with no father figure to help guide him, no little brother to dote on. Probably going to get his shit super fucked by Conquest unless Allen intervenes this time.

Speaking of which Mark didn't tell Allen about his Zenkai. That probably would have been useful to prepare for things. All this is just speculation for speculation though.
>>
>>78225173
That was last issue.

Mark couldn't beat Nolan in a straight fight so he lured Nolan into a Justice League-expy base. They all teamed up and managed to take him down.

>>78225620
youre giving kirkman too much credit.

kirkman is not a deep writer
he doesnt apply huge concepts or even make use of hidden themes/messages/meanings

what we saw is literally what we got
Mark sacrificing everything for the sake of his child, allowing for a time skip and one last hoo raw with old characters, because shits going to be FUCKED in this time skip.
>>
>>78224839

>>78226067
this.

you cant justify it, really.

i wish kirkman was a more deep writer though
applying a concept like
maybe a part of mark does like death and destruction (since it is fucking built into his dna)
thats why he would easily let millions die; to ensure the success of his genes

and kirkman would never do something to make mark regret his choice.

like terra totally siding with her viltrum race, going evil or killing mark/eve/nolan or someone important somehow.

something like "i let millions die for something that doesnt care for life"

but thats okay
invincible is just a super hero book
its not a kojima comic

ill be okay with watching a father daughter team up so i can let cheesy deep concepts slide in place of cheesy team ups
as long as it looks cool

>>
>Future Mark can't beat past Nolan

u wot m8? After all the shit future mark has been through that nolan hasn't?
>>
>>78226220
>you cant justify it, really

Sure you can. Some asshole claims they know everything, has no apparent direct ability to act on that vision, gets pissed off when some guy they openly admit they can't order around won't cooperate "just cuz", and then revenge time skips said guy for no apparent reason.

Mark actually made the correct choice.
>>
>>78226220
Mark will probably suffer even more, maybe it won't be as edgy as Tera killing her parents but it might be as simple as watching Tera die at the ends of Freddy. That could throw him over the edge again. You are delusional if you think it will be nothing but roses and dad and tera team ups from here on out.

>>
>>78226384

That's not funny anon.

He already doomed millions of lives and lost the very important years of parenthood for it, he doesn't need to go through much else.

>well just make another baby lol what's the big deal

>>
>>78226454

That is such a hack answer.

If some being has complete awareness of time and the ability to move people through it, then claiming that literally only one person in the timeline matters is super weak.

Whoever this chosen one that Mark was supposed to protect is all the time being cares about.

>>
>>78226559
To be fair, he was given like 30 seconds to be presented with limited information on the scenario and told to make a decision.

If the tentacles had said "We need you to go to this other dimension to save lives, but it's a one way trip and you can never come back" most people would tell them to fuck off. It isn't just his daughter, its what his daughter represents: all the people in his home universe who have been through so much, and he could help them, but now they have to suffer even more because space tentacles decided the next dimension over deserves to be able to remove good people from that universe and send them to another.
>>
>>78226293
except the space tenantcles asked was there anything that would make you change your mind and he said no.

Fuck mark.
>>
>>78226757
There wouldn't be anything that the tentacles would be able to do
they wouldn't be able to guarantee Terra's birth, which is basically the only thing Mark Wanted
Fuck Oliver, his baby matters more
>>
>>78226757
They asked if there was anything they could "say" to change his mind. They didn't offer anything else.
>>
>>78226443
If i want my fantasies pushed in Invencible Eva is now dating a black guy, and mark having hate sex with Anissa.
>>
>>78226723
>the next dimension over
actually, the way they talk about it >>78224830
here makes me think this wasn't "just another dimension." This was THE dimension, just rewinded. Where mark came from was "gone" as they say. They remake it when Mark decides, I think.

Why can they just go around rewinding and remaking the same dimension as it was before? who knows?

>>78224919 here they say "you have doomed this world." so I guess that's when they become seperate parallel realities I guess.

The tentacles were counting on the fact that mark would feel great about saving so many lifes, that's why he got a few weeks trial at it. They didn't count on him being human and missing home.
>>
>>78224973

>>

As in actually taking up arms to defend them instead of ineffectually pretending their child isn't a monster to the world. You don't ever see the parents get caught up in the crap the children get up to. They actually tend to be found dead specifically because they're against it.

If the fan-theory of Viltrumite women going into heat is true, she might just get desperate for some young pretty boy dick.
>>

>the fan-theory of Viltrumite women going into heat
Please explain.

>You are a disgrace
Nah, the tentacles can go choke on a bag of dicks.
Saving an unknown amount of lives< Your daughters life whom you've been raising with your wife.
>>
>>78225011
implying the 4d tenticles didn't do this on purpose.
>>
>>78227932
I feel like it could also be seen as getting that wish we have all thought about (if I went back in time what would I do differently) except it happens with no warning during a time when your life is actually pretty okay and you've made your peace with the past and you have a nice wife and kid in a good home.

atleast the tentacles weren't manipulative, giving him a reboot during a time when things were going so bad for mark he might have actually considered it.

Somehow i get the feeling that the next element will be that the stepfather will walk in. It just seems like the natural kick in the balls that this guy receives.

not even just his kid... it would be unmaking and remaking reality. EVERYONE/THING from the future would be killed/erased. Eve included.. Everyones sons, daughters.. Past Eve is at totally different person then future Eve.

its a trade of infinite lives vs infinite lives. A totally meaningless, and impossible question.

End result is the same as "do you go back and kill Hitler?" the answer is no, because you have no idea what kind of world that would create.

Well...Deb and Nolan seem to be pretty sexually active along with other Viltrumite males like General Kregg for example who has multiple wives he apparently cares deeply for.
Such sexcapades might just be a gag with unintended implications when applied across the species, but it might also be a hint. Nolan did admit a confusing and fearful pleasure comes from genuinely caring for things weaker and shorter lived than himself that can change a Viltrumite simply by making them want something more, even if fleeting, outside their singular life and mission of conquest and culling.

So the theory is sex for the sake of sheer pleasure instead of reproduction compromises yet complements regular Viltrumite behavior and thinking. After all they have extreme urges much like their lust for violence and predisposition to fly into impulsive rage, and have little control once desire compels them to action.

So in Anissa's case her brain chemistry might be fiending for some tender dicking and cuddling but being a Viltrumite makes it so they don't know how to go about submitting to a genuine sense of needing and they default to how they usually deal with things when they want their way, violence.

As for the other women I think during her discussion with Thragg about her delay it was implied other females were just taking available mates without concern and being done with it instead thinking too much about it. Anissa might have let her mind wander too long on the specifics resulting in a compulsion for certain things. In her paraphrased words, to rape Mark repeatedly until he just gets used to it.

I mean she claimed it was for the sake of getting pregnant before she left, after she was satisfied, but later on when he threatens her she makes it pretty clear she has other things in mind besides the result. Specifically the frequency of the attempts.

tl;dr Culture and hack-eugenics have made them a race of compulsive super rape-murderers.
>>
>>78228627
It really didn't make any sense when they told the last viltrumite females to go make half breeds. I mean you have a population of like 100 men and 20 women, you tell the men to fuck whatever will take their seed, but you keep the women some place where their genetic potential isn't going to be wasted on shitty foreign species.
>>
>>78228730
Thragg was desperate, but Nolan seems to be doing it out of duty or to keep the Viltrumites distracted.
Which is even more concerning since the consequence is a generation of either bastard half-breeds or half-breeds with a lot of issues about their parentage in a very, very, very long lived race with male elders constantly looking down on them and their fathers for what will be multiple human lifespans.

Kregg for example might like his wives for being his pets, but I can't see him patting Mark, Oliver or anyone else on the back for being of impure, compromised blood. There's going to be racial tension and eventually a very big and bloody conflict. Given their history it's in their blood.
>>
>>78225794
>Terra is going to be Superhero-Best-Friends with Anissa's rape-kid.

Just to make Mark suffer. You wait and see.
>>
>>78228627
If Debbie and Nolan like to fuck so much how come she's only managed to pop out one kid?

Though I would be completely unsurprised if Mark went back to Earth and discovered he had another younger sibling or two.
>>
>>78229437
Because pregnancy is complicated and doesn't involve a simple xx% chance to get pregnant. There's an entire industry dedicated to helping people conceive because sometimes it just doesn't happen for one reason or another.
>>
>>78229523
Or maybe Mark was a parasite and they had to remove Debbie's womb to save them both when he was born like they did with my sister.
>>
>>78228568
except logically speaking, there would likely be more lives since a huge genocidal campaign would likely not have happened. While the future is uncertain, mark is guaranteeing that at least one genocidal level event does not happen.
>>
>>78229573
What genocidal campaign? The one against the bug people?
>>
Yeah, Anissa will have a kid too I bet. I wonder if she will even name her kid Mark, but ultimately it is going to turn out not to be Mark's kid or something like that.

>>78226384
100% this will happen. It;s been years. She is obviously with someone else now.

Tera asks "is this my daddy?" As in, there's no other "daddy" in their lives, if there is a man Tera was told over and over that that man was not her father.

If kirkman wanted to hint at cuckolding she would have said "Who is this man, mommy?"
>>
>>78225001
>post yfw Allen took Mark's place
>>
>>78229803
No, that only works if Eve didn't tell their daughter about Mark. You assume she would. It's just been years now and you'd think Eve would have moved on to someone else by then and their daughter would understand that the man her mom is with now isn't her actual father.
>>
>>78229573

That's not how it works. You kill a universe full of people to create another universe full of people. You don't judge an event in the past as good or bad. It is simply something that happened.

Blue time worms offering to undo history for "reasons" isn't very convincing, especially since it detaches Mark from his own existence and leaves him in a position of "oh yes, if you do things differently, the world does turn out different, and now everything you thought you knew isn't the same."
>>
>>78229803
>If kirkman wanted to hint at cuckolding she would have said "Who is this man, mommy?"

>Mark gets some other dude to raise his child
>He's the cuckold

God damn I wish you people would learn to use that right.
>>
>>78229867
>and you'd think Eve would have moved on to someone else
except this isn't the first time Mark has been trapped in another dimension for an extensive amount of time
>>
>>78229931
Its not like she's going to run the "what to do if Mark get stuck in another dimension" plan past him when he ends up gone for longer and longer periods of time.
>>
>>78229900
>Blue time worms offering to undo history for "reasons"
I'm hoping that there's some bigger threat out there that it was trying to prevent.
>>
>>78230045

>>
>>78229931
He was gone a lot longer this time though. Maybe we will all be wrong and even never gave up hope that he would return. I don't think that will be the case, but I would like to see Mark catch a break here.

It's funny. This reads like an inverted "For the Man who has everything". Mark's stuck in a dream-ish world by some mystical tentacled/plant thing where he's able to prevent the crimes of the past, he then has to choose between family and duty and makes the opposite choice to Superman.
>>
>>78230623
>makes the opposite choice to Superman
How so?
>>
>>78230642
Superman rejects his "son" and returns to fight Mongol, Mark chooses his daughter.
>>
>>78230705
And their both done by tentacle creatures!
>>
>>78229327
And then they start developing a weird sexual attraction...
>>
>>78230623
Or an inverted OMD
>>
>>78230623
Except Mark's natural state is family man and Supe's is the eligible bachelor. Unless he was married during "Man who has Everything." I don't recall.

Come to think of it, has there been a story where Superman has to choose between his Earth and Earth-X, where they don't have a Superman, but gosh, they sure would like one, but he can only be in one place at a time?
>>
ITT: Babby /co/'s first trolley problem

>he choose the timeline where he was raped

So he liked it.
>>
>>78225429
The tentacles acted like idiots, Mark did the right thing because it was what he had to do, he backed down as soon as he realized he had a choice. Anybody would do that in a heartbeat.
>>
You have to be very naive to accept the tentacle proposition at face value.
>>
>>78224830
>>78224839

This feels very meta. You could read it as an editor arguing
>your backstory is too complex
>too many supporting characters are gone
>you aren't accessible to new readers
>too many dead in world events like the Greenland thing

And Mark says no thank you. No reboot.
>>
>>78232427

Ever since Robot went nuts it feels more like Kirkman's making sure large parts of the past stay gone and the parts that are staying all get a page or two.

So he wants the positives of a reboot without actually rebooting. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts ignoring old stuff the new readers wouldn't know much about in the first place, though. Like if Robot's big artificial moon gets destroyed and nobody mentions anything about millions of people who should be underwater when that happens.
>>
>>78225001
Why must life shit on Mark so much.

Has Kirkman ever killed any little kid that got lines?
>>
>>78225001
How fucking big is Freddy Mercury's army by now, good LORD.
>>
>>78233143

Probably not that big. I mean, his concubines all died after a few weeks and he assuredly killed off the weaker ones, plus probably many medium strength ones.

Still not sure what his plan is, but it is probably 100% revenge.
>>
>>78233215
The dude had hundreds of kids, did you forget? Its also been 6 years since then, if Mark's shit-stain of a Brother, Oliver, is any indicator, we probably know what the tentacle thing meant when he said Mark fucked the universe.
>>
>>78233215
exactly. He would need to bring along bug men, so they could breed more bug women to act as mothers and wives.
>>
>>78233289
Don't forget there might be some Viltrumites who might switch sides to Thragg if he comes back to earth
>>
bet his (time skipped) brother got with Eve after a break up with the alien chick realizing he actually does find earth women attractive.
>>
How long did it take olly to grow up? Since its been like 5 years and Thragg has probably been training the shit out of his kids.
>>
>>78232915
0% chance he killes the kid. I don't think he would have Mark throw away so much for her if he didn't have her playing an important role.
>>
>>78232839
That's...not funny anon.
