I just know that about 6 years ago there was a thread on /co/ about all the marvel omnibus on Amazon were glitched so they were selling for 1/10 their costs. I hopped on and ordered like 5 but didn't get any as they ran out of stock before fulfilling my order, but they gave me about $40 bucks in credit.

It was the first time I ever bought on Amazon, sad I didn't get the Nick Fury, Gambit, Weapon X collections but still over all a decent encounter with the site. It's amazing how much money Amazon is willing to give out to people, and how much they give out before marking the account for credit hounding.

Nothing much to speak of on my end, aside from reading the IDW Ghostbusters omnibus I picked up and introducing my daughter to the '87 TMNT cartoon today. She kept excitedly shouting "Turtle power!" afterwards.

Oh, and I got my replacement copy for The Shade that somebody gifted me. It came in perfect condition this time, as opposed to the smashed up one I received initially. I can't wait to give it a read and I also didn't realize it was part of the New 52 stuff until I caught a glimpse of Deathstroke while flipping through.

Tonari no To-to-ro, to-TO-ro~

I figured i'd ask this in a thread about giving.

Please note that this is not a request for donations but just for help.

I have been made aware through my partner of a family of six (we'll call the smiths to protect the family) have been forced to live in a 3 birth caravan on a private site in England, the children are between 2 and 8 one child has been diagnosed with heart problems, SPD and Autism, the cost of travel to and from appointments is what caused their issue in the first place. They are unable to be offered a house at the moment the on site washing facilities are broken meaning no clothes washing, since its an old style caravan it uses the bottled gas a service which has now been stopped due to missed payments, the father/husband works as much as he can but his entire pay bar £64 per month is spent on covering the bills, due to a screw up on behalf of the britbong government they can no longer get financial help.

So what i'm asking is where and how is the best way to raise money to help this family over christmas, £137 has already been raised so far but any advice would be appreciated.

we're trying to do it on the quiet as a present for christmas at the moment just to ease the stress a little also its £159 raised so far, if enough can be raised (not sure of the total) to pay off the debt preventing her from being moved into accommodation all well and good.

But thank you for the advice i'll get my partner to let the others know now.

I've only ever purchased on .uk once. There should be a section in the help area explaining shipping on that site. I do know that with the prime trial you get a month free, that you need to change the setting on the account so it doesn't charge you the normal subscription afterwards. But in the US the prime shipping gives free standard shipping to Hawaii and Alaska and/or other outlying Providences.

Amazon has sever different ending domains .com, .ca, .de, .es, etc. These ending domains correspond to the country's Amazon store so .ca is amazon.ca or Amazon for Canada. The nice thing about Amazon, however, is if you have an account in any of those domains you can use it in any other domains so an amazon.com account works for amazon.ca

Unfortunately Amazon Prime does not transfer from country to country. The good news is that you get a free trial of Prime with EVERY Amazon account and country, so it can actually be much cheaper for international Anons to just gift each other and make use of the free shipping. It is important to note that Prime shipping is only eligible for Prime items (duh!). It's also worth while to note that if you buy in a foreign country Amazon you should expect a language change (duh!). Thankfully Amazon will do currency conversions for you and you won't have to worry about localization costs.

The best way to cheat the free Prime system is to create a new Amazon account each year and do a new free trial. If you use gmail email addresses you can use this method https://support.google.com/mail/answer/12096?hl=en to actually use the same email, but have a new account according to Amazon. Thus you'll get free Prime with minimal effort!

You also have to be careful of your credit card on the account being the same when trying to get free prime every year. It's sad you used to be able to get free prime every year as long as it was 12 months since you had it.

But if you happen to have something arrive past the 2 day shipping guarentee you can call/contact and get an extension on prime, free or not. Free can only get one extra month added to it though while paid can have like 6 added per year.
