You're never going to get a 1-to-1 translation between the feeling of games and shows/books/comics/movies, and that's probably a good thing because it necessitates a slightly different perspective. Changing things up for a different format usually angers the purists, but you can't tell a story in a show or a movie the same way you'd tell it in a game.

Even a cinematic simulator like Heavy Rain doesn't have the same feeling as a show or movie. While you can't get the exact same feeling you get from taking control of a character yourself, you can get a similar feeling through the characters and their interaction with their world. Where they go and what they do when they get their can lend to a feeling of exploration, even if you aren't in control.

Pulp Adventure with airplanes and sky pirates. This would make a fantastic cartoon.

I used to want to see what Kingdom Hearts would be like as a series. Doesn't seem like such a good idea to me anymore, but it could probably work. That's probably more anime than cartoon though.

Everybody was a bitch in 2. It's incredible how radically different the sequel was from the first game. You went from a mute hero saving the world with the power of nature to FUTURE DYSTOPIA, GUNS, ANGER, DARKNESS, BABES. It was just a total 180 and I loved it.

Jak wasn't a bad boy. He was a Faux Bad Boy. He talked the talk, but did none of the walk. He was a bitch boy masked with an EDGY outer shell. Now Erol was a real bad boy because he was rotten to the core.

Jak is just your average politically corrected aka neutered male protagonist. He can pretend to be tough but political correction will always render him nice and harmless. It wouldn't be so bad if he stayed optimistic like in the first game. But Jak 2 tried to force this new persona and did it half-assed so as a result all bark, no bite.

It would have been real solid if Jak openly and directly said "Keira you're a bitch and if you want to save your father in prison? You do that alone. If you want my help it will cost you."

You can farm for a lot of shit, but it takes a while, at least a few days for some primed weapons and warframe, but that's the whole catch, especially if you play with friends, because the warframes and weapons more than make up for the time lost when you get all the pieces you need for them.
