Chuck Austen can't get work in comics any more, though he's managed to make a little niche for himself in tv. Burned all his bridges.

Rob Liefeld is an egotistical embezzler who likes to drive while trying to draw. Seriously. There's video of it. He only still gets work for the same reason you still get all those spam messages you never see: a very small number of the very large number of people who read his stuff in the 90s still think they want to read his stuff. Because this is a few tens of thousands of sales at the higher end, he's worth commissioning for some publishers. Occasionally. Usually he tries to take on too much work and throws a tantrum and quits.

Todd McFarlane is a similarly egotistical prick who spent decades fighting over Angela, a bit-player in Spawn who, according to contract, was owned by *her* creator, not the series creator; this despite setting up Image to champion creator-owned properties. His assholery is so great we now have to suffer Angela in GotG, just because it sticks it to McFarlane.

Jack Kirby had a real temper on him. He almost argued himself out of work many times; he also gave himself a punishing schedule that hurt his friendships and probably his career.

Steve Ditko is a full-blown Objectivist.

John K. is a big one. He's what happens when you hire an artist who cannot learn to work within the "constraints" of the commercial market.

He only needed to adhere to the golden rule of not missing deadlines. What does he go and do? He boards up his office so producers have to physically break down his door to get the next episode of Ren and Stimpy. John would claim he was a perfectionist and could not release work he deemed imperfect. It's a load of bullshit. He was just a last minute ass clown.

Joe Murray and Danny Antonucci have shown us that you can make a crazy cartoon, still maintain great quality, and still meet deadlines!

Why was this so hard for you John k!? And on top of that, he attempted to get Billy West to leave Nickelodeon when executives were going to give him the boot. To this day he holds a grudge against Billy for not leaving with him.

I'll throw another /co/ douchebag out there. Patrick Harpin. He was a story guy on Clarence and hated Skyler Page. So when the sexual harassment controversy started, he was one of the first people to grab a torch and pitchfork. He claimed Skyler did nothing to contribute towards the stories of Clarence, and that it had been him for the most part.

So he figured by burning Skyler Page at the stake, he'd be able to move up the ladder for Clarence and take over the show. The flaw in his plan though, was that he spread his evil plan monologue all over tumblr. And CN executives do not like loose lips, it undermines their authority. So he got the axe too!

Fuck him. We'll see how Clarence turns out in this next season.

Fully agree. I loved Ren and Stimpy growing up, but it doesn't change the facts behind it being cancelled and pulled off tv. It's not even airing on "The Splat" due to John K.'s inability to work with others.

moon over June was created by a guy that had a lesbian sister who he hated, and he created the comic to mock lesbians. The characters in his comic are only obsessed with sex and hating men, going so far as to claim they will abort if they get pregnant with men. They keep fucking everyone they come across in their lives. The author declared himself a lesbian transexual as his jsutification why the work is empowering and not just created to mock lesbians.

Time for a raid boss rant. Pic beyond related.

He conned more than a million dollars off his fans during the pique of his webcomic, Homestuck. And what does he do? He just throws the money as a game company to make his game without the proper paperwork or legal precautions put in place.

I work in a small business, and though my knowledge is limited, I've learned that no matter what kind of deal you strike, you fucking cover your ass in as many ways you can with legal documentation.

So this company just goes and spends almost all his money on making a game that isn't his. He doesn't communicate this though because he's on a super hiatus. The fans endlessly defend his artistic need to rest. A year goes by, and that's when he reveals all that free money he collected has gone to shit. His fans will get a game, but it won't ever have the full potential it was supposed to have since more than 50% of the backing was spent. So what does he do? He goes on another HIATUS!

This time, the fans wizened up, and have stopped giving him so much money. Good riddance.

His webcomic has become the "LOST" of webcomics.

Let me offer great story. Skyler, was apparently "mentally ill" and sexually harassed a lady who worked on Adventure Time. He groped her in the breakroom when no one was around. It's shitty, but that's all that happened. No rape, dick in the face, or 100 plz send nudes texts.

So a wild fire arose from the whole fiasco. The tumblr army brigaded Page within hours and suddenly he became "mentally ill."

The story ends with Page tied to a hospital bed, occasionally popping in and out of the Clarence character and other voices he did. He lost full control over his show. His storyboard writer tried to take his position, and his family was brigaded by tumblrinas calling for his head. All because a co-worker of the offended female went full SJW.

The girl who got harassed had to come out and post an article chastising both Page and her co-worker. And then said she was fine with how CN executives handled the situation.

I dunno, I was roommates with an objectivist in college. Was a pretty chill dude. We had casual conversations about objectivism on occasion and I made mention I kept having problems with the application of what, on the whole, often seem to be fairly straight forward tenants. But he never sperged out or got on my case. He was one of the most on the ball college people I met too. Objectivism is a political system made up by a crazy novelist from the 50's named Ayn Rand. It can be summed up most simply as "Greed is Good". But it has a number of theories; reality is objective (thus the name) so everything they say is objectively correct. Altruism is evil, religion is evil. The richest in society should be given total freedom, the poorest are leeches and deserve what they get. Anything that benefits the individual benefits the whole so everybody should be as greedy as possible and it is objectively correct to do so with no room for interpretation.

Objectivists, unsurprisingly, tend to be extremely standoffish and black and white. Superhero stories already tend to be black and white, but Ditko pushed it even further with the deeply ideological Mr. A, who regards everything as either deepest evil or purest good, with shades of grey being deepest evil in disguise. Rorshach was based off him. Ditko himself is a standoffish asshole according to all accounts of working with him.
