/co/'s favorite writer will be writing Marvel's next big event!
Yep, same creative team as Iron Man. Guess that book is gonna get a new artist or go on break while this event goes on.
Secretly everyone is a Bendis fan. Sure people here like to feel they have superior taste by calling him shit, hack or whatever they want. They feel better knowing their current indy darling is way better than the top dog at Marvel because it somehow validates the comics they are reading and that's fine.
And yeah the things people complain about Bendis are true as well. He likes to write for trades with slow pacing arcs and his characteristic dialogue. Not to mention putting the stories over any kind of continuity fans want to be acknowledged.
But it's also true that what he does is exactly what Marvel needs. He actually puts some effort in trying to change and advance these characters. You people always criticize his changes because you don't want your characters to advance that fast. Maybe if a change is teased and slowly build then in ten years you will accept it but Bendis doesn't have ten years. He wants to move forward himself not wait until his grandsons do the job for him. You hate him for that but it's what Marvel need. His stories also appeal to the readers. He writes what they want to read. Compare Guardians of the Galaxy against Inhumans. Both had the same number of variants but Bendis still won because he writes the team of Guardians people are interested in reading, accuse him of waifuing or whatever but people accpeted Kitty as Star-Lord because Bendis sold her to them in the first issue. He also put the Avengers on the map and some might say he did it by using gimmicks and events but he was the one who dared to pull these gimmicks and events, and they worked. People liked it. Bendis does know what people want. /co/ of course has other ideas, and most likely those ideas would send Marvel into bankruptcy again.
Bendis works, and /co/ loves him. All the hate messages are just the way they have to show their love.
>Another Civil War
>And it's written by Bendis
What have we done to deserve this?
Nigga, do you even know who your talking about? He's the master of Marvel, the king of comics, the future Editor-in-Chief. He has 2 shows based on his creations, Powers and Jessica Jones, and someday Mile Morales will be the next Spider-man in movies or TV.
Sorry mate, but Bendis is the King of Marvel. Those on Team Bendis will guard any and all storylines created by Bendis, or expand on it. I mean look at this shit >>77869998
Once he finally runs Marvel, we will enter an era of Bendis continuity. As long as there's a franchise with a movie or TV show, it won't be safe from Bendis Continuity.
He' the future Editor-in-Chief of Marvel, and the other writers at marvel know it. The ones that aren't with him are off doing Star Wars.
>This will sell like cold water on the Sahara desert
>Marvel will give more events to Bendis
>And more ongoings
This not be funny, but boy oh boy, this is going to be shit
>Bendis writing civil war
MY FUCKING SIDES
>worst event in 616
>redone by worst writer in 616
How little fucking self awareness does this company have, holy shit
DC was never this retarded, even with countdown.
I always love these announcements because of all the pounding of sand you nerds do.
>tfw I'm gonna support the fuck outta this and there's nothing you can do to stop me
Guardians of the Galaxy is fucking awesome. I cant even fathom the amount of shit it's getting on /co/
Its just like the movie, which got good reviews, and its one of the highest selling comics in the world right now and for good reason
>b-but its not MUH GUARDIANS!
lol fuck off. Nobody cared or knew who they were before the movie. Consider actually having fun once in your life, thats what the run is, fun. Since when is NOT MUH a valid criticism? They're basically taking the gotg name and making it something better, there's nothing wrong with that.
Its basically the exact same for Kitty Pryde. Reinventing a C-list character into a badass renegade which is also selling well and everyone is enjoying it aside from you /co/ntrarians. Why is that exactly?
When are we going to get off Bendis Wild ride /co/ ?
This is the fate we deserve. Too many good things have happened recently, this is our penance.
nope fuck off
read one issue of usm and a few parody avx comics and nothing else hes ever touched
you are probably autistic if you read comics based on what character brands are represented and not who worked on them
>Welcoming the idea of a event that will be used to kill more Muggas
How can you be this delusional ?
Predict sides now
>Ms Marvel (she switches sides halfway through)
>The Inhumans (they want in)
>Team MUH FREEDOM
>Old Man Steve
>The X-Men (unless they're too busy fucking around again)
Spider-Man will probably mostly stay neutral because he has a company to run now, but will support the resistance in secret.
Or maybe they use this as an oportunity to bring Spider-Man back to the status quo just like after the original Civil War
X-Men sit out the first Civil War, so I don't think they will give a fuck about superheroes killing each other. They might take the popcorn and just watch idly. Inhumans, on the other hand, might join the Falcon team, because of diversity quota.
>Evan becomes new paco lips
>teen ice man, beast, cyclops and ángel are the horsemen
>Jean dies trying to free them with the phoenix or something
>everyone recover except for Jean
I dont see the problem family
I think the Inhumans will be split.
The ruling class (Medusa and the other royals) might decide to cooperate with the government in order to gain more power and influence while some Nuhumans join the resistance
Oh god, imagine how hard that universe's Fox news's collective dicks would get if they could use Deadpool and his shit as the latest "proof" that Obama's secretly muslim Hitler, like Benghazi or the terrorist fist bump
I expect that whatever happens, Fox News will complain about it
Typical anti-Bendis brigade. You guys are the worst of the worst. Always crying because Marvels best writer is reinvigorating comics with his top selling stories. I bet you guys are the same idiots crying about the X-men too. Well too bad, his X-men run is highly praised everywhere else like reddit, and will go down as one of the best. Issue 600 took old and boring characters and reinvigorated them into a new progressive age. You guys need to catch up instead of staying stuck in the past.
And there is nothing you can do to stop the Bendis train, lol.
Fucking called it. All those reddit fags thinking Bendis is on Iron Man because he actually wanted to write Iron Man and not because of easy movie money BTFO. Every time there is a movie around the corner, Bendis will get top billing. kek, all those retards having no idea why Bendy boy got so many Iron Man variants. It's just too predictable at this point.
>b-but what about Gillen?
Did Gillen get the marketing push that Bendis is getting? Bendis is getting hype from all the Civil War hype, Iron Man is pretty much seen in all ANAD related things, and the dude gets to piggy back off other writers push too. Same shit happened when he was announced on X-men and GotG. It's not Bendis, it's just that he gets the best marketing when it's time to push something popular like X-men, GotG, and now Iron Man. Plus he has the best reddit circlejerk sucking him off whenever anyone talks shit about their main man Bendis.
I'm actually Jewish and I hate Kitty. I knew too many girls like her, Jewish and not, especially the shittiest parts of her personality.
The cutest and greatest X-man Jew-Fu is Jewbilee
How many pastas have been posted on this thread alone ?
why would ANYONE in canon want to be apart of a Civil War again? It was terrible for everyone involved. Fuck, Captain America dies at the end of it.
Here I thought Civil War was pretty sacred in Marvel's eyes. Their "Phoenix Saga". You'd at least wait for hair to grow on it before running back for the sequel.
I don't think Bendis cares about the Squadron Supreme, so I doubt they'll play a role in the main event, but I'm sure in the tie-ins Nighthawk will take advantage of everything
Trips confirm, hail to the queen of the Jews.
Nigga, that's how it works. It's fucking Marvel, the masters of the "Easy Money Formula." Give it a couple months for a new Iron Man #1 which will once again have high sales to make up for the lack of sales later on. Same shit for all the other books.
She's not even jewish.
Perfect Jewish girl will always be Kitty.
>affects almost all of our books
As someone who, unlike most of /co/, has actually really been enjoying a lot of the ANAD books.
SON OF A FUCKING WHORE.
It was awful when Civil War I did it and there's no way in hell it won't be awful with Civil War II doing it!
>And at least I won't have to read CW II, nor watch it in cinemas
Instead you get Apocalypse War, which I get the impression won't be much better.
Though, to be fair, at least it's not Bendis.
House of ideas, everybody.
Real talk, fuck Marvel.
I thought and have been a few different ones, inducing Fundementalist Christian, like the kind nutbag who'd vote for Mike Huckabee. Those were genially terrible, hateful, and hypocritical assholes. The kind of people who teach abortion is murder, and genuinely pray for wars in the middle east to happen so Jesus can come back sooner. The kind of Christian who thinks prohibition was a great idea, and swears that Jesus turned the water into Grape Juice.
All the religions based on the Torah/Bible are based on superstition, and are a highly edit collection of oral tradtions, essentially a game of Telephone over generations. Anyone who takes it as the literal word of God, that every single word in it must be true, is a fucking moron, and the world would be a better place with out them.
So i traded my yarmulke for a cross and sweater vest, then realized how horrible the people around me were, and then got a fedora.
>One of the very few characters who actually grew up and even left her initial group behind
All those trash girls that copied her from the 90s onwards (Jubilee, Armor, Kamala, Kate Bishop) are less than relics then.
I went back to see when Civil War was, and it's almost been 10 years. I was really surprised it's been that long but like you said, it's part of the culture now.
So the first Civil War was Nitro blowing up a school and people looking to keep tabs on superheroes and vigilantes. Public safety vs freedom to operate. What's in the news today? Immigration, Borders, Mass shootings.
Meanwhile, at DC
>I need another flagon of mescaline, i can almost see the true shape of the Omniverse!
Against all logic, Deadpool is currently the most popular hero in the MU, so they wouldn't get much mileage.
I wonder how hard their dicks got after Osborn, a member of Obama's administration,
I hope Bendis doesn't use this to push all his waifus and husbandos whilst vilifying everyone else, he wouldn't do that right?
Kitty, Ben, Peter and Flash head back to Earth for a little R&R then get caught up in the middle of it all while there.
Meanwhile, there'll be a scene each issue of Drax, Groot, and Rocket sitting on their ship eating and getting their bantz on.
What are you talking about?
They know exactly what they're doing.
Civil War movie coming out so they're making another event called "Civil War". Retailers will eat it and its 50 tie ins up, Marvel won't give a shit whether readers actually buy most of that, and retailers will still rely on Marvel no matter how angry they are at them.
Marvel knows they're about to make some mad dosh.
Any bets that Miles will beat up Peter after the latter sides with the registration equivalent?
Inhumans vs X Men ft Avengers and GOTG.
Everybody just wailing on the muties while Marvel pushes the Inhumans even more so casuals will want to buy it with the Inhumans movie coming.
Honestly don't care. Before we knew who the creative team was there was 99% certainty it would be shit. Now it's 100%.
The sad thing is this will get more attention than any genuinely good comics and outsell everything else, thereby further cementing Marvel MO of printing literal garbage and being rewarded for it
And like always, there'll be a 10:1 ratio of people shitposting about Civil War II compared to people talking about whatever awesome story DC is putting out at the same time. Because god forbid we just ignore the things we dislike.
Come on faggots. Bendis is trying to redeem himself with the Guardians. He listened and is trying to correct his mistakes, and one of those is stop making Earth based stories and so far he's doing it. Stop being so paranoid for once.
If you buy Marvel comics, you're a faggot that needs to be euthanized.
I kind of liked Same inisitally as Cap, the Zemo arc could have been better and I hate that they killed Nomad (is he still dead?) but it was solid enough.
I've only seen all the race stuff from the new series.
I don't DISLIKE him because he's capable of making good comics. Generally, I haven't enjoyed his team books though. I enjoyed New Avengers, but I didn't enjoy his Avengers. I liked the beginning of All New X-Men, but that and Uncanny X-Men turned to shit. His GoTG isn't terrible, but it is thoroughly mediocre. And he has the problem of having most of his characters sound the same.
In terms of events, most of his have been pretty mediocre. Secret Invasion was probably his best and that one got wrecked by it's pacing. Siege was pretty good.
So it's more of after a decade of having him on the big titles, we know that we can expect something that will be a 5/6 out of 10, rather than something amazing.
Pretty sure Tony will be the good guy because Bendis is writing two titles starting Tony and he is a predictable hack who loves to play favorites. Falcon will act OOC, probably stops being Cap after this, Steve sides with Tony over his best friend only because Bendis likes the Tony and Steve relationship and Steve is currently in a rocky spot with Sam.
Also prepare to have some c or z listers (like the superior foes) die for shock value (probably some of the superior foes) and Wanda do something horrible, or Scott Lang getting the shit beating out off him, for the GotG get involved and pick a side (they are team Iron Man), and for the major players to include Kitty Pryde, Luke Cage, Jessica Drew, Jessica Jones and whatever character Bendis likes.
In other words hope Bendis likes your favorite character.
The writing will be shit and he will expand a 5 issue story into a 12 issue event thanks to spread pages, copy and paste panel gags, while cramming bendis speak everywhere.
It will be marketed like crazy, the issues will have variants by popular artists, it will sell better than Hickman's Secret Wars and Bendis will be happy for another success.
His output for the past few years has been mediocre. He's been writing teams a lot when teams are one of his biggest weaknessness as a writer. And some writers just stop writing good stuff after a while. He's still riding USM, Alias, and Daredevil, all of which ended or stopped being good years ago.
Because it's not just /co/ anymore, a lot of redditfags lurk here. There's no such thing as bad marketing with Marvel, and shitposting is a new form of it. For instance, /co/ looks like it hates Bendis, but places like reddit love him while saying how other people hate him to try and change narrative
I mean shit sometimes, I shill for Bendis just to see how mad people get here, while talking shit about him on reddit just to see how many downvotes I get there.
Honestly, Bendis is a pretty good writer. All the vitriol he gets is pretty clearly manufactured since anyone that actually reads comics should, maybe not necessarily enjoy his work, but at least acknowledge how hugely influential he was to the form. Bendis is very much the Stan Lee of the modern age.
>worst event in 616
While it's true Civil War was a terrible story, it also sold well when it first was out and inexplicably still sells well for them in collected form, more so than any other events.
That and the fact the Civil War movie is out next year is why they're doing it.
The biggest worry here is that Bendis' events are usually written worse than Millar's.
>Bendis is very much the Stan Lee of the modern age
An overrated hack, a thief, a scumball, and a man who built his fame on the backs of talented people he fucked over? Thats a very mean thing to say about Bendis.
>The reason they're fighting is umb
>Character nobody carea about dies but everyone treats it like a big deal
>Character switches sides
>Scenes of protestors holding signs
>Talking heads on TV complaining about Captain America
>Tony being a fascist
>Sam/Steve speechifying about FREEDOM
>Inhumans are important
>GotG show up
>Al Ewing's tie-ins are better than the actual event
>Government uses villains to hunt down the resistance
>SHIELD is fascist
>Lots of MCU references
>Scarlet Witch shows up and Bendis shits on her
>They never actually say what the law they're fighting over does and different tie-ins contradict each other
XMen sales would also fall under your favorite writer. It's the way the industry works nowadays. Same for Iron Man. As long as Marvel makes money with his books more than with other books, they will consider him a seller and their opinion is the only one that matters at the end of the day because they decide what books to put out right?
> He actually puts some effort in trying to change and advance these characters
Do tell us what X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy books you were reading cuz character advancement through effort surly wasn't in any of those. He just writes characters however he feels like and calls it a day.
Four by my count, proof that Bendis is a meme.
Well he was offered Iron Man and he had to get convinced to write GotG and once Doctor Strange comes out if he is interested then Aaron will get kicked out for the prospect of people picking up a #1 Strange from Bendis.
It's true Gillen was never this pushed, not even Fraction was this marketed.
>Civil War is easily the best Marvel event of the last decade
>The others are all unambious, tedious dreck
Yeah, it was hard for me to admit it since I remember thinking Civil War got shittier with each subsequent issue. But then when I compared it (sans tie-ins) to other big events like AvX or Secret Invasion or Fear Itself, Civil War looked like it had better writing by comparison.
I wonder when the nerds will realize that their hundreds of Iron Man #1s will be completely worthless.
At least the 90's comicbook nerds that I know are refraining from buying them because they know it's going to end up being shit in the long run.
So has Bendis. See: Guardains of the Galaxy or Iron Man.
>in before blah blah blah blah excuses blah blah blah blah
Try to paint it any way you want, Bendis still boosted the numbers of those books.
Nobody knows how many people actually bought them though, the 200,000 number is retailer orders, usually to get the rare variants (because there's usually at least some people that buy that stuff).
>I fear nothing. I was right and I'd do it all again.
Not even just /co/ though. Bad events will sell better than good books like Midnighter and Prez every time. They'll get more attention too.
This is how Marvel does things now. Relaunch, event, relaunch at the end of the event. ANAD will only last until the end of Civil War 2 because Marvel just wants to keep creating a false sense of strong sales.
DC On the other hand is too stupid to hype anything but Batman up and the best marketing they had for DCYou was for Fletcher's stuff because they gave MTV some exclusive art and interviews. And they are guilty of it too to some degree but DC relaunches keep numbering and the events now do not effect everything like they used to. The Batbooks were the worst offender of crossover derailment and that's not happening anymore. And Nightwing was the only one that was really effected in a significantly big way. Batgirl, Batman and Robin, and the other Batbooks weren't as uprooted from their day to day plots.
If you actually look at sales data outside of relaunch months or when events are running though DC and Marvel are generally the same with the exception of Marvel having Star Wars which is a separate beast from their capeshit.
Marvel's fans are just really loud about hating DC and like to pretend that Marvel is really doing amazingly better. They are but it's not as much as people pretend. If Disney hadn't given them Star Wars on a silver platter the sales wouldn't be as skewed as they are now. Marvel would be selling more but it wouldn't be a significant amount like it is now.
Johns JL always seems to do better than Avengers. It amazes me for a good number of reasons.
Nope, Bendis is comfy at Marvel, DC wouldn't treat him as good.
It is more likely for Geoff Johns to leave DC and get hired by Marvel and that shit is also difficult for me to see since Geoff actually has a job in TV and unlike Bendis a job that goes beyond comic writer.
But if Geoff were to leave DC he still would have a lot of job offers, heck Bendis has said that Marvel has tried getting Geoff back in the past after he hit it big with DC and that if he could steal talent from DC that it would be Geoff Johns.
Bendis gets special treatment at Marvel, I doubt DC would take him after he shit talked about them and since he's a Quesada boy they probably want him even less. And even if he would get a good writing spot at DC he won't get the same superstar treatment he does on Marvel.
Nah Geoff gets special treatment at DC just like Bendis does at Marvel.
Chances are they'll be running things one day.
I miss when DC and Marvel got along and we got constant small crossovers between the two...
Johns is loved, did great work on GL, Aquaman, events and his first Flash run
JL is actually good and delivers what people expect unlike Avengers books that either go nowhere or drag on
The difference between Johns/Bendis is that Johns is actually a good cape writer, capable of reinvigorating characters
He would never work at Marvel due to the sterile creative environment and ridiculous editorial mandates
>BENDIS WRITING CIVIL WAR 2
I honestly can't wait to see how he will do it just to laugh, especially since years before Rich gave Tony the speech about Cosmic shit > Earth petty squabbles and it will just make Bendisguardians look more retarded.
Did you read his latest GotG it ended with what's her face capturing Peter and going to destroy Earth, lmao.
I retroactively can't read USM anymore because of Bendis' shenanigans. That smug piece of shit has made me fall out of love with that world, because it was created with his words. It's toxic to me now. And I regret buying the trades. Fuck him.
Johns didn’t get hired because he was Didio's buddy's buddy and it was awhile until he became CCO and he struggled with WB for his position.
Yeah he gets perks but lets face it, Marvel wants him more than DC wants Bendis, he has future outside of comics and DC.
Bendis is a meme writer, plain and simple. I don't mean liking him is a meme, I'm talking about how Bendis is the only writer to have given birth to so many memes. 2-3 copypastas, Bendispeak, exploitables, dancing gifs, self inserting, pure waifufagging, and now he has entered /tv/. Don't forget the maximum overshilling Bendis gets here.
Most boards have something to their name. /v/ has Katawa Shoujo and GG, /a/ has nardo and defeated mods twice, /tv/ created a monster of a meme that entered reality, /fit/ managed to get creatine blamed for Supreme Gentleman and has birthed LONDON, and /pol/ is the gift that keeps on giving.
This board will be known for /co/mblr, and Bendis.
You mean Sally Floyd.
The thing to remember about her is that the author did not intend her to be what she ultimately became in the eyes of fans. The author intended you to agree and sympathize with Sally, she was suposed to be a stand-in for "normal peopl".
The author just failed so spectacularly that since then even other writers shit on Sally.
You can't just replicate Sally Floyd on purpose
Bendis still has to write Inhumans, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther. There might be timing issues, but it's Bendis and he loves his crossovers, so writing all 3 at the same time won't be an issue.
It feels like all they ever have is "You're from the past and I'm a futurist!" doesn't it?
I can't see Steve and Tony carrying a book together and making it interesting.
Like that time Bruce kept ditching Clark's calls so he flew directly to see him and help him go through his grief with Damian in person. I can't imagine Cap and Iron Man having moments like that but they've had to have them right?
Everything I've ever seen and read though supports that their chemistry is kind of shit... You just kind of hit me with a brick here anon.
Bendis wrote Carol though.
It was a memebook for a while because he would always call her fat non-stop and she was drawn with thunder thighs. The old "She's an alchy" meme got phased out for "She's fat". I can't blame you for forgetting because no one cared about her back them. Or now really.
He just hasn't written her as Captain Marvel.
his dialogue is ok. he excells at light conversation but is let down by the godawful speech bubbles. he struggles at writing grand plots.
He shows horrible bias towards characters he is writing/has written/his favorites, making every attempt he can to have them wreck more powerful characters, turn them gay, or insert them in stories where they don't belong.
He's decent but most of the time it just feels like fanfiction. which draws the ire of fans, and rightly so, because his fanfiction is canon. to be fair a lot of the newer stuff feels like fanfiction.
they need to be keeping him on smaller street level heroes to really maximize his limited talents. on a business standpoint, use his name to attract people to smaller characters so they can get TV shows.
my main problems with bendis are : iceman why bother too make young iceman gay for the sake of gay if future iceman isnt gay and just explain it off as meh future iceman must have just thought it was too much trouuble being a mutant and gay so he stopped being gay.... NIGGA WHAT!?
2 X-23 sounds like a fuckin hipster teen and runs around kissing and fucking whatever male she can find for all of fuckin ANX!?( and fuckin ANGEL FUCKIN ANGEL!?) and then shes just gets fuckin dropped into ANX and they barely bother to explain it. like i cant handle how he makes serious characterss sound like they are fuckin 16. dont get me wrong spiderman he has down packed but everything else just reads horribly .
I never understood why people have so much problem with Iceman becoming gay. I'ts not like anyone cared about him before it. It's not different than turning any other non-important character gay, but for some reason there was a huge shitstorm. Did you like him with Kitty that much?
Depends on the episodes/ story arcs. The first few episodes are pretty camp, but decent.
But as the show progresses, I dare say it becomes a bit like Steven Universe or Adventure Time. It starts to become a bit more gritty and the stakes are raised tremendously.
Personally, the story arcs involving Slade were pretty top-notch, and the character development amongst the Titans was fantastic. It was one of those shows where you didn't necessarily have to watch EVERY episode, but are there story arcs and episodes worth re-watching? Absolutely.
Here's an idea. If they wanna' kill off the X-Men so bad, just have Sinister be the main bad of the next event. Gene manipulation and other bullshit, he uses all those cloned Cyclops eyeballs as guns again, maybe some dick waving between him and Doom.
I honestly think Sinister can carry an event.
He hates Scott even more. He tried killing him in Alias but was told he couldn't because he was being used in Avengers.
Once he became the Avengers writer, he killed Scott in the first 5 pages.
It didn't need to happen. We all know why it happened. That's why it's stupid.
> It's not different than turning any other non-important character gay
Yes, it is different. Because Booby has been a straight character for literally decades. You can make a new gay character at any time and it would be perfectly fine. Make a new straight character and turn him gay. That's swell too. But don't retcon an entire history to suit a leftist agenda. That's stupid. And you're stupid too.
thank u! like hey if it had been someone who would have been speculated to be bi curious sure,
like literally any of the 20 xmen they had in AVx hell id have even taken laura being attracted to fuck jean grey that shit would have made more sense,( she had finesse, kidan, scorpion, jubilee annnnyyy of these) hell make kitty pryde or beast gay at that point if we just dont give a fuck about sensible character reforging my thing is he couldnt even own up to it, he was like " i just wanted to put it out there and move on with the comic" and thats a stupid reason thats like making superman gay for the shock factor and not even having it explained...
Jean essentially just waves her hands around and says "You're gay". That was his coming out. Someone just telling him he's gay.
It undermines him as a gay character, it undermines all his straight relationships he's had in the past, and it locks a character into a new direction that doesn't really make much sense for him. I'd be willing to bet Bendis saw this:
and thought it should be done in canon. It was pointless and it serves as really bad way to represent people. Even some of the Sojus crowd hated it. I'm gay and I felt insulted by it.
>"The original 'Civil War' is one of the most important Marvel comics ever, and we are all very excited to have come up with what we hope is a story worthy of the title," Bendis said. "If you are scared of earth shattering Marvel events where no one is safe… be afraid, be very afraid."
Oh, Sally. That bitch is the living incarnation on why MU citizens fucking suck. My god chewing out Cap for not being American enough?
Really Floyd as a character is reason enough to show this is a bad idea.
>The fun thing about CIVIL WAR [was] that the issues involved not only divided the heroes, they also divided the fans, to say nothing of the creative people,” reflects Tom Brevoort, editor of both series. “The attempt was to craft the conflict so that each side held a valid and defensible position, so that a reader could fundamentally agree with either one side or the other, with neither being painted as absolutely right or absolutely wrong. While the issues involved are different, we’ll be taking the same approach to CIVIL WAR II.”
>“CIVIL WAR was a seismic event that demanded the attention of existing fans and created new ones because it tapped into the most pressing question of its day,” adds Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “CIVIL WAR II will do the same.”
>For Bendis and Marquez, creating CIVIL WAR II means building on one of comics’ all-time biggest events, but both recognize and relish the challenge.
>“CIVIL WAR is rightly thought of by many as the landmark Marvel event and it’s a huge challenge to live up to the example set by Steve McNiven and [inker] Dexter Vines,” says Marquez. “Working on this book is a huge honor and an amazing opportunity to really push myself and show what I’m capable of artistically, and it’s also just great fun to get to pull out all the toys from the Marvel toy box!
>“The creative team for CIVIL WAR set the bar for every following Marvel event, and I feel so lucky to be teamed up yet again with Brian Bendis and [colorist] Justin Ponsor. Having worked together over the past several years, first on MILES MORALES: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN and just recently on INVINCIBLE IRON MAN, We have really gelled as a team; it’s almost like we can finish each other’s' sentences, creatively. Now we get to really show what we’re capable of on Marvel’s biggest stage and I can’t wait until everyone gets to see!”
>“The original CIVIL WAR is one of the most important Marvel comics ever, and we are all very excited to have come up with what we hope is a story worthy of the title,” echoes Bendis. “If you are scared of earth shattering Marvel events where no one is safe…be afraid, be very afraid.”
Can't help but notice they don't mention the movie
And here was me hoping it was a continuation of pic related.
Which was fucking dope and the only thing decent that's come out of this secret war bullshit.
I mean how is this shit a good idea?
>Tony and Peter's characters got fucked
>Cap looked like a dope, then died.
>Reed looked like a dope
>The fact Sally Floyd exsist
And I'm sure I'm forgetting others but this is at top of the list
Lol I love how the introduction to secret wars was "everything ends" but now it seems like everything is the same but there is just one universe
for now, keep in mind as soon as another What If story comes out it renders the entire event pointless
You had characters in their tie-ins not lining up with the proper book because the writers all held different opinions and ignored the side they were given. Miller fully intended for Iron Man to be right and Marvel pushed it as fair and impartial regardless. It led to one more fucking day.
Have two fields for Tony dies/Steve dies. One of them will probably die.
Yeah, he lived long enough to wage one-man war against Inhumans then die/go to hiding/fuck off from X-books.
>Have two fields for Tony dies/Steve dies. One of them will probably die.
I doubt it, Iron Man is now Marvel's golden boy with 2 solos written by Bendis, and Old Man Steve has to reassume his mantle soon.
Someone will definetly die though
>Avengers: Clone Saga
>Avengers: The death of Edwin Jarvis
>Avengers: Avengers no more
>Inhumans: Brand New Day
>Avengers: Big time
>Inhumans: Grim Hunt
>Inhumans:One More Day
>Inhumans: Back in Black
>You had characters in their tie-ins not lining up with the proper book because the writers all held different opinions and ignored the side they were given.
Just like AvX, AXIS and Secret Wars then?
Civil War's "big" death was Black Goliath, he was the biggest character Mark Millar was allowed to kill (other than the New Warriors), and that was literally the only reason he was there. So whoever dies might not necessarily be that important
>I'm gay and I felt insulted by it.
it's like if you write about your gay feelings in a diary, and some redhead finds it and just outs you in front of everyone without running it by you
i was p conflicted about whether i was bi when i was younger and i think i'd be upset if someone told me "bro, you're gay, just deal with it."
You know what I meant, specifically characters who still exist in the current timeline and were pulled from the past
Normally it's a new character from the future (Rachel, Bishop Cable)
Inb4 this Civil War is over another disagreement between Cap and Tony and Tony's portrayed as objectively wrong the whole time because muh blond haired blue eyed patriot can do no wrong.
Simple: While Red and Blue are having their petty squabble on Earth, the GOTG will be bringing whatever cosmic threat they face to Earth, forcing Red and Blue to abandon their fight and kill an alien together.
I saw "Beast blames Cyclops for something" and that made me think stupid catchphrases from the 60's and 70's that are normally thrown in as jokes.
>Oh my stars and garters
Feel free to continue the list
I think so. I like what he makes, and the meme is just a plus
No, thanks. I rather read marvel. Like most people who read comic books, and read marvel. And normies, that read marvel. And people in-between, who, also, read marvel.
no, the last time was on AXIS. Remender of everyone remembered that comicbook Jarvis is not a fucking AI. The last time he was extensively used was on Mighty Avengers, Slott called him the Avengers constant.
I think "They're fighting over something stupid" would be the better freespace.
Everyone knows it's going to be a terrible reason.
What about "The next event is hinted at while Civil War II is still running"? Should that be there? We had two announced before Secret War was even closed to finished.
>The last time he was extensively used was on Mighty Avengers, Slott called him the Avengers constant.
Even if I hate Amadeus Cho, run was based.
Yeah she was heading away from Spartax to head to Spartax.
Also Bendis had no problem blowing the Kree planet who is to say he doesn’t shy away from blowing Spartax and making another muh Earth plot, get fucked Bendisfaggot.
>Inhumans ally with the 'right' side
>Mutants ally with the 'wrong' one as a means of kissing ass after AvX
>Comic relief character goes grimdark (double points if it's kamala)
>The Maker vs Handsome von Doom
what's his life like now anyway?
his Universe got the short end when everything merged
do people know where he came from or was his origin shifted around to fit in with the new universe?
Yes, but it sold like hot cakes because everyone needed to see firsthand which of their beloved characters were gonna be botched and then butchered
>oh shit, the next issue of Civil War is out. Please let Daredevil be fine, please let Daredevil be fine
>Tony and Steve fight... again
>Steve surrenders and is killed... again
What if heroes registered to a non governmental company like in One Punch Man?
>event where, instead of fighting other heroes, they fight the villains.
If there was just a freak accident that caused, say, twenty, not even, ten percent of earths population (a majority being in america) to become metahumans. Would it be nonstop violence like this? If I got powers obviously I wouldn't start rescuing people that's preposterous, but I wouldn't start robbing banks either.
Bendis had an advantage with Guardians in that the prior run by Abnett and Lanning was like cult hit status for comics, had a following but didn't sell that high. When Bendis came on board they started to push the marketing for it more than they ever did with the Abnett/Lanning run.
I want the heroes and villains to check themselves like in DCUO. Megabases and gear trading. Everyone is on call for emergencys and heists and you answer to your "mentor" loose connections with goverments and organizations. So I guess like OPM
the biggest issue would be the number of accidental manslaughter comitted by people who discovered they had powers when they melted the face off of a guy they were arguing with.
You'd suddenly have a lot of fugitives with nothing to lose
Try accidental terrorism. You find out you have some weird explosion powers on a train? you just made headlines. You have some EMP power shit and you find out on a plane? Hope you aren't on a course to hot anything major
Took the last one. Made some modifications and put some images.
>Meanwhile, there'll be a scene each issue of Drax, Groot, and Rocket sitting on their ship eating and getting their bantz on.
EAT EAT EAT
I hope Kamala sits this one out
Heroes shouldn't fight heroes
