This pretty much sums up what's wrong with the digital age of artists. No formal training, always a need for shortcuts. Just look at how awful the perspective is in relation to the door way, the doors, and the figure entering through them. I can't even begin to understand how this would work in the real physical world.
>>78003473
It's fun. Complaining about the animation in RWBY is like complaining about the animation in Home Movies or South Park. It's about the dialogue, the animation is just a vehical. And unlike Home Movies or South Park, RWBY actually has good characterisation and dialogue to justify it.
>>78003399
I mean, one of the rules of the general is "Don't try to claim it isn't shit" so I'm pretty sure nobody thinks it's high art or anything

I always knew Sonic's prime fan base is autistic but I didn't know it's also produced by autists.
>>78004267
Yeah, but I mean, you can appreciate their effort, but being a fan of it is one step too far, it's like saying your favorite take on Hamlet is from your local school's 4th grade drama club.

>>78004331
Sonic Hedgehog proteins are also a key determinant of autism. It's a perfect loop.
>>78004359
>it's like saying your favorite take on Hamlet is from your local school's 4th grade drama club.
This is not an apt comparison, because the whole reason of the fanbase for it is that it's an original work.
It's really not that different from when there were fanbase and good following for Flash animation series in the early internet.
>>78003486
There's one really similar to this I saw before, I foget what it's from.

>"it's shit on all fronts, but we enjoy it anyways for some reason, don't come in expecting quality of any kind, also here's a GIF of massive clipping, lighting and posing issues during a fight scene because they're hilarious"
>now, after plenty of fandom snowballing and pity-mongering following Monty's passing
>"IT'S THE BEST EVER, BLOND MCBIGTITS x NEAPOLITAN ICE CREAM GIRL IS MAH SHIP, THE ANIMATION IS JUST FINE AND EVEN IF IT SOMEHOW ISN'T GOOD, THE RICH STORY MAKES UP FOR IT YOU SNOB, RIP MONTY"
I'm not sure if a better one-word description for the experience I had of watching this fandom's decline into stupidity like so many others would be "pain" or "inevitability".

No, but you see, this is actually on purpose, it was one of the subtle clues the writer left to the audience to hint them tat it was not the real Sonic but a robot.
That script is tight as shit, man.

Don't bring things from the Dark Age of Animation up.
>>78003392
>Too incompetent to animate this from scratch so they mocap it

Seriously you can tell someone was just running in place, especially with that one legged jump. They just loosely rotate parts of the animation lmao
>>78003392
So...I've never watched this before, but it's supposed to have PS2 graphics, right? That's the charm of it?
>>78003486

Who knew Cobra were all health nuts?
>>78005553
Cobra is an interesting organization. It's a terrorist group but when it went under due to the Joes wiping out their finances the Cobra troops were able to file for unemployment. They also offer health insurance. They are a true equal opportunity employer. There's plenty of women working for the group. In one episode they found a thing that put men into a hypnotic trance. There were enough women to keep things running when all the men were out of action. There was a female Crimson Guard cadet training in mind shit. Women subcommanders and Strato-Vipers. There was even a black guy although he turned into a white guy at the end of an episode.

This really isn't fair. Keep in mind this is a animated webseries produced as the pet project of one ambitious guy, abysmal budget, and no big company backing.
>>78005769
I think it was the episodes where Dusty joins Cobra. There was a black guy that had a decent position but Dusty's success caused him to take that guy's spot. At the end He rescues Cobra Command but he's white.
>>78005742
It's probably on Kisscartoon

RWBY exploded in Japan, with a few succesful mangakas saying stuff like "America has finally began to understand moe."
Since S1 was 2 hoursish long, it was viewed in movie theaters and it sold out within hours. RWBY is stupidly popular over in Japan for whatever reason.
The dub has big name seiyuu working on it and everything.

>Thinking your opinion of moe overrides Japanese professionals.
>>78011937
Japan did doujins of it two years ago, long before they officially got it. That means that somehow their was a Japanese fansub, and that somehow not one, but two japanese circles decided "We can make porn of this and it'll sell at comiket." And it did, very well. This was a sign that Japan would love it for some reason.
So hate it all you want, but it somehow managed to click over there.
>>78012089
So congrats. You can hate it as much as you want, but in the end: It's popular enough that WB Japan picked it up, shelled out for good voice acting, and it's being eaten up like birthday cake over there.

No, I think Monty couldn't figure out 3D studio max or Maya so he settled on some cheap anime maker. I'm certain that's why all the characters look similar. All he had to do was modify them like a goddamn paperdoll.
