The Avatar Universe is too shallow for that.

No I mean its basic concepts, mythos, world, existing characters, design are all completely shallow and mostly uninteresting (because already done better somewhere else), if not outright done wrong ("balance is just asianspeak for good vs evil, right?"). It sort of worked for ATLA thanks to some good writers, but it wasn't conceived to go further than that.
It's not worth trying to make a puddle deep.

I really wish we could have seen what the Fire Nation was like in Korra's time. No, that one temple island in Season 2 doesn't count.

Are they more industrialized than the rest of the world? Have they invented the television or airplane? Do their soldiers still have skull faces over their helmets or is it completely pussified, now?
