Duane lived with Lemuel when he was a galit, and while Lemuel is working with someone clandestine, Ashley's said he's not affiliated with the Blacktongues. At least, not enough to be their crowning experiment's housemate. It would make more sense for Duane to have been alive before being zombied,but perhaps not with accurate memories of how Mikaila died.
