>An artist you're following nukes their whole blog
The one I remember the most was Stickypad, apparently he deleted everything because he was pro-gamer gate and that upset a small fraction of his followers, but since the dude was always a self-hating faggot, he couldn't cope with that so just went a nuked everything and then disappeared.
Oh well, knowing him it was gonna happen sooner or latter, seriously what is it with the abnormally high proportion of delicate flowers among artists?
This is why you save everything, and then back up those saves.
If you don't have old hard drives filled with literally nothing but hard to find old pictures you're doing it wrong.
The internet remembers everything except that one thing you really want it to.
>The internet remembers everything except that one thing you really want it to.
Jesus Christ this is so fucking true
What I've noticed is that today's kids are less mentally and emotionally resilient than older people.
And artists and authors of fan-content seem to be the least well-adjusted of the bunch. Seems to be a requirement for the discipline. Mental instability that is.
Makes you wonder how many paintings and sculptures the old classic/greats have nuked their works. Wasn't there a case of a da vinci painting with traces of another erased painting under the final one we got?
Only on shitty sites that happens. Tumblr is a scummy hellhole where a mob can get you taken down from report spamming and at no point moderation takes place or reverts the damage. It's tailored around the idea of empowering hateful censor groups, as a site it is inherently perverse, and people who use it help it survive. Fuck anyone who says "it's just a site", tumblr has to die to stop this madness. The damage it causes every day makes Reddit pale in comparison.
>The artist behind Craving Control
Ooh, this one hurts deep.
It was one of the first things I've ever fapped to as a kid, seeing it discontinued was awful.
Nah, the artists just get raw internet feedback. That is not just unfiltered, people try to outdo each other with the shit they give you.
Older people didn't get a hundred people yelling at them beyond reason when they fucked up.
The episode where it turns out Trixie is into comics and so on. Timmy is pretending to be a girl and they bond, so (s)he becomes Trixie's new best friend. She rips up the picture of her usual orbiters, and OP happens.
A lot of people are starting to leave tumblr now because the shit is just so horrible. I used to be one of the people who said it was just a site and I only used it for art but it really needs a major upheaval or another site needs to come along that's better that fixes it. I won't leave for the time being though because it's still the best one out there for art.
>someone makes a connection between your regular art blog and your fetish art blog
>artist nukes their whole blog
>didn't give a warning
>treats followers like idiots as if they shouldn't be peeved about it
>has a nsfw art blog and a sfw art blog
>draws in the same style for both
>gets surprised when people make connections
Yeah, this is when it goes from annoying to really fucking obnoxious if you were actually a fan. Artists totally have the right to take their old shit down, and while fans also have the right to be pissed by that, it's hard to call the original creator "wrong" for doing it unless their fans actually paid for that art in some form or the art wasn't all the artist's own work.
But when the artist sticks around and is all "LOL WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT THAT OLD SHIT ANYWAY, I DREW IT LIKE A MILLION YEARS AGO" you can't not see them as a piece of shit.
That's really not an excuse for not even warning anyone. I suppose you're entitled to do whatever you want with it but it's really shitty to just say "fuck everybody who ever liked this". If you really want it gone at least tell your fans so they don't potentially lose their favorite piece of art.
>People like your nsfw stuff more regardless of quality
Sometimes I hate the internet
The real problem is that you kids are entitled babies.
You didn't create the art and you didn't pay for it. If the creator wants to delete it all and move on, then it is entirely their call and you don't have a say in the matter.
Unless you're one of those
>A creator doesn't belong to the creator, it belongs to the FANS
types. If that's the case then you're beyond rational reasoning.
You just had to be there
I want to be one of the reasons people come back to this board, i want to mantle it's name for good like so many old ones did when i first got here. I want to be more than just a drawfag.
>If you really want it gone at least tell your fans so they don't potentially lose their favorite piece of art.
If it was one of their favorite pieces of art then they would've saved it themselves.
No sense enabling a bunch of entitled crybabies who can't save images for themselves.
>If it was one of their favorite pieces of art then they would've saved it themselves.
It's like you've never heard of a hardware crash, a stolen computer or the other bad things that can happen to your computer.
Then you can post your stuff under a name so people can at least find it. I fucking hate finding nice fanart and there's no name at all to attribute to it so I'll never see anymore from that artist again.
Not everyone saves things like 4channers.
>>an artist you're following fucking dies
Fucking Mosha. He was too good for this world.
>It's like you've never heard of a hardware crash, a stolen computer or the other bad things that can happen to your computer.
So it's the artist's job to pay for bandwidth to make their work available to you for free forever, even if the artist is no longer satisfied with said work and doesn't want to keep paying to have it available online.
Yep. You're an entitled baby.
>Finding out an artist you follow draws porn
Was that the cruise one? That one stopping out of nowhere was even worse. For some reason CC leaves a hole in me that can never be filled by other stuff, mostly because of >>77990051.
When and how did Mosha fucking die??? Holy shit
>Plague of Gripes stopped drawing porn
It still hurts.
>An artist you're following nukes their art page
>They were one of your closest friends, or so you thought
>They never do the commission you paid for them to do when they needed extra money
>They do this over 50 other people, probably got a truck load of money
>Most likely lied about all of their irl problems
>They fall off the face of the planet scot free with all of that money
>Later, they make a new art page and try to pretend nothing ever happened
>Apparently this isn't the first time they did it either
>Confront them and they publicly apologize to followers
>Only to do the same shit all over again and bail from their account again
I just want my $15 commission doodle so I can move on my life, jeez
Tumblr is just actually a site though. Right now they have the highest concentration of a certain type of person, but before tumblr it was LiveJournal and after tumblr it will be something else. At best we would get a few years of peace as they regroup.
It makes sense that artists are universally crazy because you need a certain amount to devote yourself to something so unrewarding. All it means is that normal people have to get better about backing everything up. Never trust an artist.
>Save 1 image off the guy's pixiv because I wanted to use it for inspiration like a WEEK before he deletes all his stuff
>Thanks to internet detective skills I can easily find who he was through the image and other people have saved and posted his art so it's not all gone.
>If I had not gotten lucky as fuck and saved that one picture I never would have found who he was again or his art
HUJIMOGEO! You thought you could escape from me!?
No. Come on, man. Don't do that to me. Don't lie like that. No. FUCK.
>Tumblr is just actually a site though.
>highest concentration of a certain type of person
Yeah, and those certain types of people keep spreading their shit around everywhere, noticeably. They find people to bully off the site.
While not a full confirmation but in various sadpanda theads and /h/. People have been speculating he died years ago durning the, I believe 2009 or 2010 earthquake. It makes sense since he's never made anything new or ever responded to any of his accounts, emails, ect. I believe people even asked on 2chan aswell.
>Regularly delete all their pictures once they gain a new interest.
>Delete pictures when westerners start to notice him
>Deletes half your pictures for no apparent reason at all
>Puts up picture only to remove it hours later
PIXIV ARTISTS STOP
Goddamn. Those fucking earthquakes took so many brothers away from us...
This is probably going to happen to me, assuming it hasn't already. Not that I really give a fuck.
>Person reblogs some great art from a tumblr
>Follow the link
>There's nothing here
LITERALLY the worst
It's so fucking annoying. If enough people report a blog on Tumblr, even if they're not breaking the site's rules you can still get your account removed.
And with these "anti" people, it sucks.
>Regularly delete all their pictures once they gain a new interest.
>Man I love this guy's touhou stuff
>Deletes it all, starts doing Kancolle art
>Get into Kancolle and like him again
>Deletes it all
Regarding tumblr people are starting to become aware of it on the outside. That shit that happened with that one girl who drew Steven Universe fanart got a bit of attention. I'm thinking in a few years that kind of flaming and bullying that goes on with the SJWs is going to start to be shut down whenever it pops up.
>Hear something about how he got married
>Happened around the same time he stopped drawing porn
I'm about 80% sure John Campbell no longer cares about anything concerning his work. See his Kickstarter for an entertaining read on how he despises the "modern capitalist ideals" of paying for your own food and shelter.
Luckily someone on KAT cobbled up an archive of nearly everything the man posted on the internet.
Does not include the "look at the clouds" that was on his websites for the last year or so (but really, there's no point in saving that)
>artists getting their stuff deleted by moderators and flaggers
>they didn't break any rules
This has been happening a lot lately on art and stream sites! What the hell is going on!?
Typical furry artist shake my head, to be honest, family. Even if their sob stories are true I assume the worst.
Only type of artist worse than the ephemeral drawfags who'll happily see their hard work lost forever, bumped off a board for endless shitposts about SU.
>You accidentally post a pic to the wrong blog
That wasn't a conversation I needed from my family.
It's actually less about them noticing him and more that they take his art and upload it onto danbooru/gelbooru so no one visits his pixiv.
There are even programs that automatically upload the pictures elsewhere without even giving him a view on pixiv.
John and Richie was my fucking Childhood and the first animators I saw on the internet. Every weekend until 9th grade, I'd check back and see how close they were to making Perfect Kirby 4.
I just gave up and I feel sad everytime I remember it.
>like an OK artist
>they inspire you
>you move on and become a better artist
>come back to that old artist you liked
>they haven't improved a bit
>Typical furry artist shake my head, to be honest, family.
Hey, someone figured it out
He summed up the internet like no other
Well yeah, when you bully someone into trying to commit suicide just for drawing characters that didn't appease to them for arbitrary reasons, then it get's really noticeable to the outside world because of the utter pettiness of it. Most people are sick of it, and they ignored it, until it got deadly and criminal charges were filed.
Usually they move over to another Japanese art website since pixiv gets a lot deviant art tier westerners.
>mfw artist upload half of their stuff to pixiv and half to niconico
and make it pixiv
ACTUALLY it's because apparently if an artist draws doujins and fanworks that stuff can get them in trouble with the companies that own those IPs coming after them. They have a doujin market over there but it's not really protected and that's the reason all doujins are limited run only and never get reprinted. If someone uploads their stuff on another site where they can't get it taken down then it opens them up to real life trouble.
This sort of shit is a plague on FA. It's basically a scamming site between YCHs, Adoptables and "urgent" journals about not making rent and your cat needing surgery.
This site is terrible for art.
Searching for art and getting feedback for art stinks here.
Why did so many artists flock to this place?
Didn't that happened to the guy doing those pokemon doujins, Zak-o
>This site is terrible for art.
>Why did so many artists flock to this place?
They actually think it's good, I don't know why but I can't convince anyone.
There's really no good alternative I think
Something that warms my heart is with the porn artist community. Those guys are all great bros and they support eachother so whenever their blog gets deleted or something bad is happening they all jump in to inform the fans where they're posting their new art and stuff. It's fucking great.
It's easily accessible and allows NSFW. Reblogging promotes their work far beyond just their followers. It's a place that is easy to "ingest" lots of art you'll probably like just from scrolling down your dashboard.
One of my favorite skullgirls fanartists made a post about leaving the internet for a while and then just deleted their pixiv and DA a few years later.
I wish I knew what happened
>Why did so many artists flock to this place?
Because there are basically no other alternatives.
If you're not japanese, Pixiv is a pain. If you're not a furry artist, you don't go on Furaffinity. If you're not 100% porn, you don't use Hentai-foundry. If you only post to Gelbooru, there's no real way for people to message you for comissions or anything like that.
That means the only two left are Deviantart and Tumblr.
Tumblr is the better of the two options if you don't just post shit to twitter or something and get it lost forever.
oh I know
it just stings when one of your friends turns out to be one of them and justice will never be delivered
Tumblr is the best art site we have right now. It can do fucking anything and you can make your website look like whatever you want. It's super easy to follow artists who like on it and you can reblog and like their stuff with the click of a button meaning it can spread around very easily.
The ONLY downsides it has is if you turn a corner you can run into the SJW hive and reblogging doesn't mean people have to link back to who made the thing. Also it's impossible to delete something if it was reblogged meaning drama can burn forever with new people being added to some old shit that doesn't matter anymore.
Deviantart is a joke compared to it. Someone needs to just make a website that is exactly the same as tumblr in every way and then actually moderate it and make sure the crazies don't set up there.
>Also it's impossible to delete something if it was reblogged
So there should be a service that reblogs everything from a particular artist so that when they nuke everything their pictures are restored.
I've been using DA for years and have tens of thousands of views on DA, but could never get anyone to follow me on Tumblr no matter how much I tagged shit. I get more attention on Pixiv and all I do is post. I also don't like how people can share your art on Tumblr but never really visit your page in the first place.
I guess I just can't into social media...
>someone sends me a message, getting mad that my porn art contains incest
>visit their blog
Doesn't Tumblr block you from seeing porn if you're below 18 or can you just disable that? Or are these teens lying about their age just so they can complain about the porn you're drawing?
this is why I don't draw porn
can't blackmail me or expose me if I don't make it in the first place
>>Why hasn't someone made a new art hosting siteyet?
They keep trying. They made ArtStation after CGHUB went down but it quickly just turned into a concept/game artist bro circlejerk. Only people who are already famous get any views.
>Artist deletes their entire gallery
>Comes back like a year later
>Still draws the exact same subject matter but never reuploads any of their old art again
>Old art is still basically on par with new art
>Friend moves away and drew stuff, had a deviantart but they abandoned it and don't even go on facebook or anything so you can't talk to them anymore
>One day happen upon a new tumblr and they're drawfagging on here
>Don't bookmark it
I messed up
>drawing buddy abandons the internet
>they don't come back, ever
>repeat 5-7 times over 8 years
>drawing buddy is your ex and you're on good terms for awhile until her bf is sick of you hanging out with each other
>she chooses him
>No longer use Imageshack since they began requiring a subscription but log in occasionally as an archive
>Imageshack slowly and occasionally deletes my images for no real reason
>404 images gone of things I have no idea what they might've been
>tfw an artist that disappeared for years comes back and produces art again
>tfw it's all WoW stuff now and she won't upload her old works
Feels sad, man
Tumblr is a fucking joke.
Ruining the quality of your images if the dimensions aren't right. People have to fucking slice their images into pieces so Tumblr won't fuck them up. I also want to post sketches but I don't want them to clutter someone's dashboard.
>getting this assblasted that someone doesn't like your disgusting fetishes
>Ruining the quality of your images if the dimensions aren't right.
>post sketches but I don't want them to clutter someone's dashboard.
Do it anyway? They follow you for a reason. Just because you don't think it looks good doesn't mean they won't. If you must just post a bunch in one post. Or do a sketch blog. A lot of artists do that.
>missing the point and thinking they just now got into these fetishes
swing and a miss chum
>everything about tessa stone is depressing
Why do you say that? Hannah is sad but I am loving her new comic and she even made another one before that she got paid to do. She's doing well and making comics again. We'll never know what happened to Hannah but at least I'm enjoying her new comic and she does reblog Hannah fanart so it's not like she's pretending it didn't exist.
>find something that hits all of your kinks at once
>check the rest of the artist's works
>all furry shit
>the one you liked was just a commission
I fucking hate furries so, so much.
Fuck you, shyguy9.
>the only downside
>have to put up with everyone's dumbass talking when to get to like three posts of art
>awful to find new stuff, search function is shit
No, tumblr is just easy for the artist. It's terrible for the consumer.
I guess some people actually like PalComix-tier then
My old friend of almost a decade that I recently lost got me into the comic; it was how we first bonded. That comic is very special to me, and it'll never come back, just like the closest friend I ever had.
>Those porn drawings that are lost forever because the artist got nuked before anyone saved/reuploaded them.
I miss all the stuff I used to fap to in 2003...
Well.... I still think there's a chance that she'll conclude it in some way or at least tell us how it ended. I have hope.
Speaking of him
>Finds a teaser for a comic that hits a bunch of my kinks
>Can't be bothered to pay for a digital porn magazine
>Too stupid to figure out the shady internet underworld to find it.
Past a certain age (like, say, 21) you should always have a will and always designate someone to shut down your online life when you go. Because you WILL go homies, you just don't know when.
>that shitty artist that does one good thing
>everything else is poorly drawn furry feet
Dude, trust me, I tried.
I figured, "Hell if I can convince myself to get off to furry shit, it'll open a new fucking world of fap material." but all furry shit is just obnoxious to me, like I can't get turned on by them, I just get frustrated.
>Person makes porn that hits my kinks perfectly.
>I give money to his overpriced subscription shit to get it.
>Nothing else he ever makes is as good ad hits my kinks as perfectly.
Should... Should I write him an email telling him what kind of stuff I want to see more of?
>relatively decent artist that manages to hit your kinks with minimal or nonexistent furshit
>they trigger some apparently popular tumblrina and xir entire defense force gets the artist shut down
>they lose all their motivation to keep going on another site like Pixiv and just fade into obscurity
>satisfied with it enough to share it online
>one day later, it's got views and shares, positive comments and people asking for more
>it now looks unfinished and lazy
>find comic that hits your kinks
>artist makes money off this comic
>his website only post the first few parts and you have to subscribe for more
>just find the stuff people subscribed for on various websites
>Artist finds out and constantly throws bitchfits because people won't pay for exclusive fap material
>have a relatively obscure/niche fetish
>everyone who draws it is terrible
>Good artist draws ton of great fan material for a thing you are obsessed with.
>There is a god, everything is good in the world.
>Artist moves on and starts drawing fanart for shit you don't care about while you're still obsessed with the old thing.
This thing happening so many times is honeslty my number 1 motivation to learn how to draw myself.
>laugh and joke about the strangest commissions I have done for furries with friends over beer
we got the whole bar in a discussion over whether or not a "bubblegum fart fetish" is a valid sexual term
Nah, I'm not that far-gone. The entire concept of scat disgusts me, though I will admit that there are people with talent who (in my opinion) waste valuable time on it.
Close, actually. Lipstick/kissing. Luckily for me there's someone on FA who's commissioned a ton of it, so I will never have to go without.
I wouldn't say they're like thieves. They're just artists who help people out and they look out for eachother. It's nice. You'll never see any drama in there like you will sometimes with other artists.
>Not that far-gone, scat disgusts me
I remember being like you. Give it time, kiddo.
>only get pornbots to follow you
>don't even draw porn
this is especially bad with smut and fetish artists, cause their stuff can be harder to find again(like it took me years to rediscover some pieces)
that's actually a pretty good progression for someone on DA who probably isn't taking any classes
seriously they should give at least a month's warning before doing that
personally I think that Artists shouldn't be allowed to throw out or delete anything
man that guy was just an asshole, and not even a particularly talented one
this is just infuriating
>tfw followed this one porn artist and became good friends with them over trillian
>they nuke their blog shortly afterwards with no way to contact but I still manage to get free lewd shit drawn from them still
feels fucking fantastic
>draw a completely SFW picture of a beloved character from childhood
>gets put on e621
>flattered but also saddened
>personally I think that Artists shouldn't be allowed to throw out or delete anything
That's a bit extreme. I say as long as you warn people it's fine. You should be able to completely vanish from the internet if you want but if you're going to be putting people out by it you shouldn't do it. Just don't be an asshole. It's understandable if you want it all gone.
>affect their chances in the industry
Wasn't the guy behind Lilo and Stitch known for drawing lewds?
Good point. I'm an amateur myself and if I cared about all the negative feedback I've gotten that simply said "make it look like what I like not what you planned", I would never have made it out alive.
I dislike 99.99999% of all scat stuff I've seen, but I'll admit there's been a couple pieces I was surprisingly okay with, oddly enough most of it was "Hyper Scat" stuff, for some reason that stuff doesn't automatically set off my disgust like the regular kind, still not something I actively search for, but I'm surprisingly tolerant of it
well maybe, but really there's been way too many artists I like who've pulled that sort of crap off over the years
>Go on e621 to see how bad the porn is there
>Find Niche Furry Artist
>Only posts OC's and FNAF porn comics
>Get a request finished by her
>Its on weasyl and I'm too scared to look at it
I'll always remember you Discordmelody, You are still going through some shit but atleast your getting a audience who can support you.
>not wanting to support artists
>being this much of a cunt
yep, completely into furry stuff
hatedomming is unhealthy
He was trying to get real animation work and non porn commissions. Was outed, harassed about the subject matter of his art, deleted a lot of his art profile.
I think after awhile he just came to terms with it and came back. He doesn't post new shota/loli stuff.
it's not worth it anon
he knows not of his stupidity
>Be an artist, not holy-shit-stunning art but definitely better than good
>Art hardly gets more than 10 notes on average, have account for 4 years now and only have about 25 followers
>Constantly see shitty scribble art without coloring and terrible anatomy with notes in the 70s and 80s, same source material as mine
What am I doing wrong? I've lost so much motivation in the last few years because of shit like this.
>Past a certain age (like, say, 21) you should always have a will and always designate someone to shut down your online life when you go. Because you WILL go homies, you just don't know when.
If I ever produce anything, not just art, I'll most definitely think about doing this. Is there such a thing for online stuff though, online wills or something?
Going by all the rumors, Mosha just seems like a loner artist that just likes to draw and upload on his own. He never had anyone close enough to him to confirm his death online, so no one knows or ever knew he probably died. He probably never told his family he draws porn for a living, then again not many would. I'm also guessing he never made much of an public appearance either. Kind of sad really.
You're not drawing stuff thats FOTM. Anything from Steven Universe to MLP will just about do.Draw something thats really popular and watch the notes roll in. You may not like it, but it will get you noticed.
Learned my lesson the hard way. Any artist that asks for money up front isn't worth your time, anon - if they're not willing to do milestones, they're planning to take the money and run.
>Have about ten followers on two different platforms
>Nobody ever follows me for my fanart but artists I like do and some are actually really good and professionals
It's a confusing kind of feel
>Tumblr stops allowing shota and loli drawings
>artists nuke tumblr pages
>Hentaifaoundry stop allowing shota and loli drawings
>droves of artist stop posting or nuke
>Pixiv starts forcing censoring
>western users stop posting
There is no safe haven
>Have had several tumblrs over the last four years or so
>one approaching 1000 followers
>others several hundred
>all of them non-artists themselves, or at least really cringey dA-tier types
Sometimes I'd just like to earn the respect of my peers.
>post it up
>get new followers
>they never liked the drawing
Shit I can't believe it
but yeah , for the first season american dragon where jake's dragon form was buff, the dude in charge is a massive furry , jeff goode https://www.flayrah.com/5870/jeff-goodes-play-fursona-non-grata-appear-fangcon-other-stage-events
There was a time nobody cared and nobody reported so they didn't get deleted.
Then people realized you could fuck with other people by spamming reports. The whole system was automated.
Was just about the time bronies started becoming a big deal.
>like drawing all sorts of things
>still not so good at it yet
It hurts but the pain makes me strong
>like artist work
>deactivates because "wahhhh I'm depressed"
Ugh I hate that
Man I need some new artists to follow
Can anyone here who can actually draw just link where they post stuff already
>Pixiv starts forcing censoring
>tfw western artists posts a really hot art
>checked back resently pixelated
>everyone loves legoman
>he doesn't even finish drawing half his shit before uploading it
>Furfag shares another fetish with you
>Work starts out diamonds, but then turns into yiffng
that tg comic where the guy turns into little red riding hood is perfect, just perfect, until he also turns into a wolf and fucks the big bad wolf, fuck
Why wouldn't I know my own Stupidity?
>artist on tumblr or animator talks about posting on /co/or /aco/
>mfw every fucking time
I really should know better by now, but is anyone else ever surprised by who we share this board with?
>Want to be able to draw.
>Trying to practice and learn is too frustrating and abstract for me because I'm literally autistic so always quit or put it off.
I know people will say just DO it but my brain feels like it's just wired in a way that makes it impossible without getting fed up instantly.
After that thread where morbi, suni, and weaver were in, nothing surprises me anymore
>Poona the Fuckdog
>by Jeff Goode, creator of American Dragon Jake Long
I'll just quote Jeff Goode's description of it:
"Once upon a time, there was a little fuckdog who lived in the woods. Her name was Poona.
Poona had no friends until her Fairy God Penis brought her a magical gift - a big pink box.
Then a handsome prince came to play in Poona's big pink box. And came. And came again.
Won't you come and play with Poona?
Follow Poona's twisted path to the Kingdom of Do (where no one did). Meet The Man Who Can Sell Anything, Suzy-Suzy Cyber-Assassin, Mr. Beer, a pair of space aliens named Jasper and Cunt, and God (who will answer any question for five bucks).
If Pee Wee's Playhouse had a kennel, Poona the Fuckdog would board there. Poona is cartoonish yet clever, innocent and insidious, over the top but under the skin. Jeff Goode deftly deploys a child's fairy tales to skewer the adult world of crass commercialism, marauding media, and totalitarian technology.
Spike the milk. Lace the cookies. And get way, way under the covers for Jeff Goode's hilarious and subversive bedtime stories for adults, Poona the Fuckdog."
Here's the site
You can see how the actress looks and check some trailer of it... really weird shit.
>Know an artist
>Always been good, but in the past year especially has vastly improved in every area and truly found their personal style/flavor
>Has had an art blog for a couple of months where they post pretty frequently, recently hit 200 followers and the count increases every day
>really starting to get attention, fanmail, asks, most of their art gets 100+ notes, even minor little sketches get 50+ notes on average
>mfw I already know within the next 2 - 3 months at least they'll either delete everything from the blog or just delete the entire blog itself, because before this account they've had either 4 or 5 art accounts over the past few years where the exact same thing has happened, where as soon as they started really getting somewhere they nuked everything for no reason at all
>if they just stuck with 1 account this whole time they'd easily have a follower count within the thousands
>confront them about it, why do you always do that?
>"I don't know"/"I don't like any of the art anymore"
I just don't get it. I mean, sure when you improve your old art looks bad to you, but if it had lots of attention from other people, then it wasn't bad, it's just you who thinks it's bad in comparison to your newer stuff. So frustrating, but there's nothing you can really do about it I guess.
Anon, I assume pretty much everybody on 4chan has a tumblr.
If they're artists I think it's a given, and the non-artists have one just to follow people.
If I see somebody bitch about tumblr I assume they're a newfag from /b/, /v/ or /pol/
If drawing doesn't work at first, get into technical. Make blueprints, schematics, three view renders and so on. I guarantee you will learn spatial awareness, volume and depth pretty soon.
It's more of a "Beggars/choosers" kinda thing. Take me for instance, do I like
Mamabliss? Fuck no, their art is fucking horrendous, but I read their comics anyway because they hit my kinks.
He's drawfagged for /co/ plenty of times in the past. It's just that video games have been his recent bandwagons. Weaver has been a drawfag for 4chan since before many boards even existed and Morbi was a /v/ and /tg/ drawfag before tumblr even existed.
>all that dicksucking
>all that shitposting
>all that falseflagging
>Pixiv starts forcing censoring
That's the way it has always been since the beginning. Tokyo specifically does not allow genitals to be shown. Do you think all hentai manga are censored just to troll people?
The HentaiFoundry castaways just didn't bother to learn the rules, or thought wrongly that the rules didn't apply to them.
>Also nijie.info exist for a reason.
It's also Japanese language only for a reason. It's not anti-foreigners per se, but they don't want users who don't have an understanding of JP laws and culture. Nijie still does not allow uncensored genitalia.
The background checks are to see where they went to art school, past art jobs, and shit like that.
They'd be pretty retarded to have hang-ups over drawing porn, since all artists draw porn.
Maybe like CN and Rebecca Sugar who draws EE&E porn, they just give no fucks.
It is very bizarre, reminds me of those cheap amateur 80's-90's movies.
Any of you guys ever follow an artists' work for a long time, usually a few years at least, and you get to see their style change and develop, and at a certain point it actually starts decreasing in quality? I had an artist I really loved, followed their stuff since about 2008/2009, and it was awesome because their art really peaked around 2010/2011, and then from 2013 onwards the art actually started looking worse. Feels bad man. Can't be the only one who's seen it happen.
It's only started recently I say around June. So it's only a matter of time before they start making good on anything threats of action for not censoring.
That's not true. Japanese Pixiv users have no issue with foreigners using the site. I use the Pixiv chat and had conversations in broken English and Japanese.
>What's the relationship between westerners and pixiv anyways
That line of questioning kind of answers itself. It's like demanding attention, as if westerners on Pixiv are owed acknowledgment just from posting there. No one likes that.
>one day you look up an artist you've heard about in months/years
>find out they've given up and cleansed all evidence of their artistic career
>discover they died
>4. You’re a boring person.
>Not much to explain here. If you don’t have an interesting personality, make no effort to converse with people, make no effort to talk about the things that interest you, only reblog things and occasionally post art etc, nobody’s going to care.
>artist you have been following for years discovers patreon and now doesn't upload new drawings to his tumblr or furaffinity anymore
>gotta pay to see his new stuff
That seems like a lot of hassle just so you can say "HEY GUYS I DON'T HAVE A TUMBLR!!!"
Don't let 4chan dictate your life, brah.
Pixiv has users from all over. It's not just Japanese and "westerners". Considering the average users don't comment but just give stars and bookmark. There is very little cross communication. When there is it's someone using goggle translate or basic phrases for like "Good job".
Well think of it this way, most will start to care about your SFW stuff after you died, like real artists..
I've noticed it happens a lot, usually for two reasons. Either artists go to school and improve rapidly and one they graduate, they stagnate because they no longer have easy access to other artists who can offer critique.
Or they improve rapidly before college-going age because they have a lot of free time, then they move out and lose the free time that they used for drawing/improving so they plateau or slip into bad drawing habits because they have limited time.
I suggest these because of observation and because I feel like I am a mixture of both.
>get 2/3 followers per post
>average in 25 notes
You aint hot dude
