/co/ is like /pol/ you're wrong about everything.
I can't wait till you guy's eat your word's like you did with everything else. There is no way this is doing less than 86% on rotten tomatoes. Warner would not jeopardize the two biggest heroes on the face of the planet with a bad movie. Have faith DC bros!
What are you optimistic about? What did you like about the trailer?
>>77984989
It's no use anon. The dream is dead. As far as the foreseeable future. DC will just be meme fodder for /tv/ we're not gonna win D/Co/mrade :(
>>77984989

It's not gonna do good OP. Last trailer actually managed to kill hype. Best case scenario it'll do a bit better than MoS. Which is still massively underperforming for a movie FEATURING BATMAN AND SUPERMAN. On /co/, and if you remove the marveldrones, its not much problem.
I just find strange that people change all their perspective of a movie, based on just the trailers. I mean, these are selected parts, if people liked the first trailer, all the things that you liked there will still be on the movie.
Also, I really dont mind some humor.
How is the normie reception of Lex Luthor? Anyone has informations regarding it?

I usually don't use the word "drone" but it's the perfect explanation
reviewers, I won't even call them critics because none of those people can think critically, will shit on it just because it's a DC/Warnerbros movie and because it's not an MCU movie. people will hate it because it's not as goofy as most MCU movies and because it offers a whole other take on superheroes
I really hope that this won't discourage Warnerbros from making further movies because they can make a great universe if they don't give up. Man of Steel was a step in the right direction even though the script had quite some flaws (Goyer that retarded asshole)
>>77985618

Jurassic world revealed the plot and the villain in one trailer. How much did that make again?
Batman v superman is more hyped and anticipated than civil war. It will outperform it in every possible way. Parents think its too dark for kids now, but the new bvs trailer had some quips that sold parents. Stay mad.

>Based terrio, last movie scored 96%
Only. The word you were looking for is only. His only movie scored 96%.
You don't get that kind of opportunity without working uncredited on a whole lot of movies. Lots of high-profile actors, writers and directors have worked as uncredited script doctors. Carrie Fisher. M. Night Shyamalan. Jonathan Nolan. Mostly they're doing it to pay the mortgage. Did you know the average director's salary in 2013 was just over $120,000? It's a lot, but it's not exactly Wall Street, and it's one of the higher paid professions in filmmaking. The truly big names who get the truly big paychecks are rare.
The thing about those three I mentioned? Everybody who knows anything much about them knows they've worked like that. Most people can even name some of their projects.
Terrio hasn't admitted to any, which is not encouraging. It tends to suggest he's worked on things that aren't worth anybody's time and didn't get watched for that reason. Because the other reason you can be uncredited on a project is if you choose to be. That's a serious thing and you're required to make certain declarations to the effect that you will not reveal you worked on it, ever, because it's bad.
>Based Affleck helping
He's doing nothing of the sort unless he gets a credit, and the only one that could possibly be worth his time (unless he's super fucking keen about paperwork) is Second Unit Director, which would put him up with the likes of Andy Serkis. It's literally helping out; second unit does anything and everything the way the director tell them to.
>Based Zack on visual's
On all directing. He's the director. If the studio tries to appoint someone over his head or someone else tries to get in on it, all of their other directors will walk out. It's non-union as roles go, but it's still protected.

>>77986591
I wanted to believe that Terrio would fix the screenplay for the better, but the trailer still has that kind of really clunky dialogue that was in MoS.
I dunno to what extent Goyer's original script was altered; if it the story itself was changed, or if dialogue and scenes and structure were just touched up. But either way, the lines of dialogue were still really unsubtle and stilted, like, characters just announcing their character motivations instead of them being conveyed more artfully. Especially that Clark/Bruce thing at the beginning.
Nolan trilogy had great dialogue (inb4 CIA scene), so I'm guessing that's because Nolan co-wrote the first screenplay, and Goyer only provided the stories for the next two, while the Nolan bros. wrote the actual script. It seems like Goyer isn't as good when he's not being guided by better filmmakers.

Clearly trolling, the current record is less than a HUNDRED million. If it breaks 100 mil. it's the biggest success in cinematic history. I don't think it's possible, logistically, with the amount of theaters * number of seats * number of showings * ticket price for any movie to break several hundred million.
Same goes for opening weekend, current record is just above 200 million. It's not going to do better than 220, and that's absolute-best case scenario.

Quiping is just a problem if it breaks the clime, and what build up to it.

I don't know that he's ever had a bad sound track. He's turned in stuff at bet below his usual bar before, but nothing I'd call bad. Even Howard Shore got kind of Lazy when he had to score those crappy Hobbit movies after his masterpieces with Lord of the Rings, but Zimmer actually managed to take DKR and Man of Steel, movies with threadbare plots and heroes who had already been in too many movies, and still managed to make some powerful music for them. Managed to be the best part of both of those movies too.

I doubt it'll be quite that bad, but I don't see it being quite the type of film that makes you desire more, yet.
The problem with Supes is kind of the same with Thor, they're both too powerful to really have shit to do on Earth normally unless something really stupidly crazy comes along, even then you still question why they don't go all out like Thor's lightning on the portal in Avengers.
Fortunately with Thor they just kick him back to Asgard for whatever reason when the avengers aren't around, but for the Justice League, I don't know if they're going to just have Supes appear from time to time then disappear to rescue other planets he shouldn't really care about, that's more Green Lantern territory.
And I wonder if they'll bother with juggling the secret identities throughout, Marvel obviously just said fuck it, the masks are mostly just for show. If they ever show facial recognition software or some shit, basically makes Clark's glasses a really terrible running joke, is he hypnotizing computers or something?
But hell maybe they can pull it off. I want to see a good Red Hood film to really push Bats's moral code to the limit and see how they deal with it for a film universe.

I dont shit on dcu movie universe because its not goofy enough as the mcu one, i shit on it because apart from the dark knight trilogy and maybe man of steel they were too goofy in the way they portrayed the darkness of their films for the audience, the origional batman films before that are a great example of this their baddies where liked they were ripped from a parody of what they where supposed to be portraying, instead of the joker we got jack nicholson playing jack nicholson in make up. Instead of the insane genious riddler we got fucking jim carrey the goofiest actor to ever walk earth playing the same role he always does.
At the same time when the higher ups realised how fucking stupid their films where they tried copying how mcu is working with their universe but unlike giving time for their characters to develop they are rushing it and will inevitably fuck up like they always have,
Dc are better with their animated stuff and their tv shows
>>77985451
>No sorry, the trailer hyped the marvel crowd.
Did it really? I'm not surprised, the new trailer seemed custom-tailored to look like standard Marvel capeshit. Executives probably realized that 90% of bandwagoning casuals were whining about DC being too serious and not having "muh fun!", so they cobbled together a trailer of all the scenes that feasibly seemed like jokes to try and win them over.
Compare them. The first trailer was like, "You don't owe this world a thing" and "Devils don't come from hell beneath us", and this new one is all "Ow! That's a good grip!" and "I thought she was with you.". It's even pretty obvious that the whole gag involving Bats going "Oh sh--!" and Wonder Woman coming in out of nowhere to save him will never even occur in the movie, at least not like that.

The only way MoS would have been well reviewed is if it had essentially been Superman the Movie Special Edition with updated cg effects. Then it could have been as shitty as Superman Returns or the Supergirl series and still have done well with the critics through sheer nostalgia. It boggles the mind that anyone on /co/ actually believes that MoS's reception had anything to do with the writing quality (funny how the Batman Begins and JSA writer spontaneously became "retarded" overnight). The presence of a literal Academy Award winning writer will not help BvS; not if it continues to use the same "humorless" interpretation of the Superman mythos that turned off non-comic reading critics with MoS.

Goyer didn't lose it overnight. In bb and tdk Nolan hid his weaknesses, in tdkr where Nolan half assed the job, you can see goyer retarded dialogue everywhere.
Supergirl has good reviews because serious reviewers don't even bother with it.
Terrio is still unproven and has done nothing since the oscar. Which is a laughable trophy anyway, because terrio won it for writing American propaganda, the ultimate oscar bait. How many nominations can you name from the past ten years that have the word American in the title?

>That scene where Bruce and his Russian ballet date are talking to Dent and Dawes about Batman, and it's suggested that Bruce takes a liking to Dent because he can be a legitimate hero to Gotham and relieve Bruce of the responsibility of being the Batman, so that he can have a normal life
>This scene doesn't have Bruce just explicitly saying that, it's just implied
Also, even though the Nolan films also had kinda elaborate speeches, they were at least thematically related to what was going on. The themes about power and corruption and being forced to breech your ideals in times of crisis, etc.
In MoS, we are treated with a bunch of speeches about how important Clark will be and how if he does stuff the consequences will never be the same and people might fear him and he might be rejected and it'll change the world blah blah blah
Then after his big significant fight, we never see how the world reacts to Superman, or any handling of the set-up idea of whether Superman would be rejected or accepted if he reveals himself. We just see military guys and Lois, who don't really work as surrogates for "the world."
Goyer is capable of good work, but he needs some more adept people to ground him. Snyder isn't good for that, because he's cut from the same "DO THIS CUZ IT'LL BE KEWL&AWESOME" cloth. Nolan cares about actual narrative, though.
>>78004786
>BATMAN IS COOLER THAN SUPERMAN, A MAN WITH WHOM I HAVE AN EXISTENTIAL PROBLEM WITH BECAUSE HE COULD DESTROY US ALL AND ALSO HE DRESSES COLORFUL AND HE HAVE A HISTORY OF CLOWNS (THAT'S JOKER)
Don't think it's that as much as Bruce not liking a guy calling him out while he continues to praise a guy Bruce can't stand. Definitely a touch of "Why don't you dislike what I don't dislike?" as well. I didn't get him going full Batfag though.

Trying to downplay what he says and feels doesn't make your argument valid, it just makes you look stupid. They're also addressing all of those issues in this movie because Goyer did nothing with them in MoS. This entire movie is about people's reactions to Superman(Bruce, Lex, Alfred, Diana, the public) and him gaining trust.
"What people seem to miss is that they're getting the 'edgy' early-90s out of the way very quickly. Justice League begins with the rejection of Dark Knight Returns / Death Of Superman, so that things happen in reverse: instead of the naive cartoon heroes becoming more 'morally ambiguous' and cynical over time, we are having (at the very least) a grim, cynical Batman who will learn his lesson.
However, it's very difficult to imagine how Bruce Wayne can emerge as an actually-good person - and that is what will make film interesting."

>>78000473
No it doesn't. Goyer can't write dialogue to save his life, which is why Jonah Nolan deserved all of the credit for The Dark Knight. He's just good with ideas, always has been.
>>78017358
Goyer is terrible with dialogue and with ideas.
Which of his ideas do you believe were good ones?
>>78017843
JSA
Blade 1 and 2
TDK trilogy
Man of Steel wasn't a bad idea, it just needed someone other than him writing the dialogue.
Constantine
>>78017915
Blade was not well-written.
Blade 2 was not well-written.
The Dark Knight Rises was not well-written.
Man of Steel was not well-written.
Goyer literally stated that Harvey Dent was the protagonist of The Dark Knight. He has no fucking idea what he's talking about - this is the same guy that said the only reason Stan Lee created She-Hulk was so Hulk could fuck a pornstar. He's a fucking hack.
Batman Begins I'll give you, but as he wrote that over a decade ago, "always has been a good writer" is a bit of a stretch. He also didn't write it alone.
As for JSA and Constantine - fair enough. I'll rephrase. Goyer isn't terrible with ideas - he's just terrible at coming up with ideas for movies.
>>78018210
I never said he was a good writer, I said the opposite. He's a shit writer, but he has good ideas. Blade 1 and 2 were good movies despite his writing, Batman Begins was a great reintroduction of Batman to the masses after the disastrous Schumacher movies. The Dark Knight is widely considered the best comic book movie there is. Man of Steel had the right idea, but he can't write for shit, so it suffered in execution. I don't like him now, his success with Nolan went to his head so he thinks anything he shits out is golden, which is why I'm glad WB booted him to the side after the distasteful shit he's said about Martian Manhunter and She-Hulk.
>>78018430
>good movies despite his writing
Yes, but this is my point as well as yours. I think I just give more credit to the directors of those movies, while you're giving a lot of credit to the writer.
If you actually consider not just the dialogue, but also the beats, the step-by-step moments of both Blade movies, it's not good writing at all. The pacing is all over the place, and I'm sure you agree that the climaxes of both movies were fucking rubbish. The man is entirely devoid of talent, as far as screenwriting goes, and the film industry knows it.
He did the Blade movies, which got him JSA, which got him Batman Begins, then he just hid behind the actual talent for the TDK trilogy, got handed Man of Steel, fucked it royally, so Terrio had to rewrite his BvS script while Goyer got shunted down to TV level Constantine.
He's had his moment in the sun, got the credit he didn't deserve, and he's on his way out.
