So, I've been wanting to get into comics but I'm broke so could anyone tell me where a good place to start in the Marvel Universe would be?
Also, links to downloads would be nice.

honestly? Head to your local library, grab a bunch of stuff, feel it out yourself. Everyone has different tastes.
That's a very big question. It'd probably be best to at least tell us what characters you're interested in reading about.

Read New Mutants the stuff where Sienkiewicz is doing the pencils.
I like Spider man, Hulk, Doctor Strange...umm that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

1. Find a comic set in the Marvel universe
2. Read it
Also if you guys have links to any favorites that you think I should read that'd be awesome.

Spider-Man just recently relaunched, so it'll be easy to pick up. Also, the series before that, Superior Spider-Man, is really entertaining. Superior is also not very long, (as far as comics series go), so it's pretty easy to digest.
As for Hulk, Planet Hulk and World War Hulk are both really good reads.

Pick up Marvel's Epic Collection because of the movie hype they're collecting Dr Strange
Hulk and Spider Man will be easy to find

Read Steve Ditko's Doctor Strange, it might be hard to get into since Stan Lee's dialogue is very obtuse and will just explain the actions going on in the panel. However unlike most comics from back then Ditko actually does focus on making Strange's run have an arcing story instead of episodic tales, so it's not too different from modern stories there.

Spider-Man:
Ditko-Lee Run
Ultimate Spider-Man
Marvel Adventures Spider-Man
If you get into it read ASM #1-#630 excluding Clone Saga, One More Day, Brand New Day. There are like some arcs you have to pick with another Spider-Man titles like Kraven's Last Hunt (literally the best Spidey story ever written) so keep that in mind.
Hulk:
Planet Hulk
World War Hulk
Future Imperfect (Not exactly a cyberpunk book, but definitely a book at least triggered the modern cyberpunk trend.)
PAD Run
Totally Awesome Hulk (New Relaunch)
Doctor Strange:
Strange & Doom: Triumph and Torment
