Who do you want the villain to be?
>>
>>77975286
Dark Batman!
>>
>>77975286
One of my friends is legitimately excited about this. I don't get why. I thought Telltale just made beyond preplotted, more handcuffed to the rail in a hallway, point and click narrative games. What exactly is there to be excited about?

Telltale is known for producing some pretty fucking great stories. They are hit and miss from time to time (specifically when they try to appeal to children) but they are currently on a god-like streak of good adult stories.
>>
>>77975840
They're still pretty fun. Once you let go of the idea that your choice will forever change everything ever in the story and instead just give it a different angle, they're more fun.

So this could be good. And I think we all know the villain will be the Joker. Because of course it will.
>>
>>77975927
I feel like they know better than that
>>
>>77975286
Talia.
>>
>>77975953
The power of the Joker will take over. Not even Telltale can resist it.
>>
>>77975875
>>77975927
So is it just better to look at it like its an interactive OGN more than a vidya?
>>
>>77976294
Absolutely.

If you aren't used to their style I highly recommend their Walking Dead game. Its seriously better than the books and the tv show combined.
>>
>>77976294
Something like that. Tales from the Borderlands was pretty fun, especially when you stopped thinking you were going to completely change everything. Though you can save an important character's life if you play your cards right. Though there's no reason to think that the action you pick at that point is so important
>>
>>77975286
Joker, just to piss people off.

Riddler.

Adventure games = puzzle games. It's perfect.
>>
What happened to the Marvel game Telltale was signed on to do?
>>
Is Conroy confirmed?

I'd prefer no Joker, but if we HAVE to have him, I'd want Hamill as well
>>
>>77976616
Hamill said no more Joker, but then again he then showed up for Arkham Knight after Arkham City was supposed to be the end. So who knows.
>>
>>77976367
How was A Game of Thrones? Do you have to know the books or show to 'get' it?
>>
>>77976672
I don't know. I've never watched or read Game of Thrones, so I didn't even bother with the game.
>>
>>77976616
Riddler would suit Telltale's style.

Responding again to add that while I haven't played the GoT game, I would like to add that I've noticed something. The Walking Dead was great, but by the second season, the fact that you can't make any really important, lasting decisions was starting to weigh down on me. It leads to a feeling of "Why bother trying to save anyone when everyone's just going to die, anyway?" But in less depressing works, like The Wolf Among Us, which had its dark moments but wasn't nearly as bad as TWD, and the clearly comical Tales from the Borderlands, this was less of an issue because your decisions often got to be more than just "who do you save?" So even when things ended up in the same place, you still feel better about it because you did things your way. And Game of Thrones, I would imagine, is much more like TWD in tone than the other games, which is part of why I avoided it.

Of course I could be entirely wrong and they somehow did something completely different this time. I'd look up some non-spoiler reviews to be sure, if you're still interested.

I actually fully expect TT to not use the Joker just because they pride themselves on being different and catering to the vocal minorities.

And I fully expect their game to flop because as much as the neckbeards hate to admit it, Joker is the one villain that actually brings out the best in Batman.

>>

Ideally, it should be a Batman and Robin story. No extra fluff. No Justice League, no Batman Inc., no dozens of past sidekicks. It should be Bruce, Alfred, Jim Gordon, and either Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne or Tim Drake. The other characters can exist if you really want but make them unrelated to the story. Nightwing is off in Bludhaven, Barbara's overseas on a foreign exchange program, what have you.

The villain should be someone that challenges both Batman and Robin in separate ways. As other anons said Riddler would be great for this. He wants to match wits with the World's Greatest Detective, and views Robin as little more than a pesky little sibling interfering with the grown-up's game. Obviously he would need side villains aiding him to add a physical threat. Maybe the Royal Flush Gang.

The story would need to be contained and personal, focusing on Batman and Robin's personal relationship as partners/father and son. Batman is afraid for Robin's life and wants to keep him safe, but Robin feels caged and wants to prove himself worthy of everything Bruce has done for him. Riddler is the backdrop against which these interactions are played, and his natural disposition towards riddles lends itself well to a puzzle-adventure game.

>They could be making a real Walking Dead game but they won't because that exists and people buy it.
They did make a "real" Walking Dead game for people like you that seem to think Walking Dead is about killing zombies and not about the interpersonal struggle between people. Hell, it came out the same year as the Telltale Walking Dead game.
>>
>>77980580
The only reason Hope triumphs Jedi is because Hope has so much more fantasy in it than Jedi or Empire which bumps it up to the second best in the OT.
>>
Riddler would be great for an adventure game.

And go the Arkham route, but ramped up to 11. Make him a jigsaw-like antagonist.

Hopefully it'll be The Wolf Among Us: Batman Edition. You'll get plenty of Red Herrings and deal with other various members of Batman's rogues as the story goes on. Fundamentally it's a Detective Game, which Taletale does a decent job at.

Final Boss is Clayface, who has been impersonating people all game long to keep you on your toes.
