>jailbait wearing heart-shaped sunglasses
I miss those days
In my opinion, Plastic Beach had some good things going for it but suffered from not having a good producers. Demon Days was made of several radically different pieces, but Danger Mouse kept it all very cohesive.
I think it suffered from
not enough trip hop
Anyway, who do you guys think would make a good match for their new album? Pic related
Gorrilaz vs Hatsune Miku ft. DEADMAU5
Best girl? Rule 63 2d obviously.
>Rule 63 2D
>Not rule 63 Murdoc
You have the shittiest taste.
Jamie posted this earlier, leading to fast spreading rumors of a Bowie collab, which could ideally be awesome
>I'll never have gender-bend 2D as my girlfriend
Don't be so pessimistic. Judging by these:
Amy Whinehouse was already the real life version of rule 63 Murdoc. Maybe the real version of rule 63 2D exist on sone place.
Actually....who would voice her?
Dana Albarn for 2d T-pot and Jaynie Hewlett for Maddoc Niccals.
Has rule 63 gone too far?
New phase when?
It's next year right?
>wanting an abusive dried up whore who smells like halitosis over a sweet ageless moe girl who smells like butterscotch
kill you are self.
>Phase 4 Noodle picked up smoking.
>Trashy ladies with cigs is my fetish.
I'm so happy.
I do not understand how anyone finds his art sexually attractive. I love it, but it's drawn to be ugly. What's wrong with you fags
Ok, which is your favorite clip /co/?
And your favorite music.
Favorite band member.
I think his women are sexy.
Feel Good Inc is probably the most classic, I can't pick a single favorite, but that video is the unspoken introduction of what the bands is to me. Murdoc has the best design, though I enjoy all the characters for different reasons so I can't pick one there either. Russel is very overlooked, however.
>Implying you wouldn't give this semen demon a good dickin'.
I'm starting to think Hewlett is bored of the round dots for eyes, hence why he keeps giving 2D weird eyes and never draws Russel, period.
Murdoc is best member.
So if Hewlette dropped off the face of the Earth, never to appear again, who would you recommend to Damon to be the illustrator for Gorillaz?
I'd recommend Ashley Wood myself.
Not that anon, but wow so? I think it's quite genius. Simple, but very recognizable. You instantly know what kind of character he is by looking at him.
I think he did a good job emulating Hewlett's style in Tank Girl and keeping it fresh with his own touch.
>Favorite band member.
Murdoc and 2D are the only band members with actual character, personality, and development desu senpai. Noodle in particular has always been a walking cliche void of any personality.
Not as boring as Murdoc's character design
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. 2D and Murdoc get the most opportunities to SHOW their personality, but Noodle and Russel have apparent personalities, especially if you read Rise of the Ogre.
>dog faced rotting cadaver
>better than the blue haired qt 3.14
Paula pls go
No Ashley Wood, who the anon that was replied to mentioned. He did some issues of Tank Girl.
Yeah I could easily mistake some of his work as Hewlett's.
I was really excited for the new comics, but the art has a lot left to be desired.
A lot of really rough line work and the characters tend to have very ambiguous features. It also feels way more soft and flowing, which is weird for the whole idea of Tank Girl.
Eh. I wish I could like him as much as you guys. I want Hewlett to just go back to it.
This is just a guess but based on the first drawings shown I'm thinking some kind of 30s american circus type theme. So maybe something like they have a circus. Sounds weird but i get a circus vibe so far
That... actually seems pretty plausible.
Bitch is a 2D ripoff.
I thought Ashley Wood was a girl this entire time
Exaggerated hyperextension of the knee for character and gestural flow I assume.
I like to think that's because at least one of the creators, Damon Albarn, has aged exceptionally well. Kind of like how no one really ages in JoJo (except Joseph and Suzie) and it make be a case of the author, an asian man who has aged exceptionally, projecting on to his characters. Kind of like how skinny artists are likely to draw skinny character and pugey artists will draw characters more on chubby side.
Favorite album is Demon Days, so phase 2, naturally.
I like Murdoc's design the most, probably because of the Keith Richards inspiration. That's not to say I don't like the others though.
Noodle is MY waifu. No one's else, got that?
2D has aged, look at him now compared to when he was 25 in phase 1
New Russel art was posted a few hours ago, I wish Russel was used more like Phase 1.
So is he still big or what?
Does anyone think Gorillaz will get a proper send off? Every album Jamie Hewlett pretty much says its his last one but always comes back to Gorillaz in the end. Will they just release an album and be done with it forever?
I liked DoYaThing as a send-off.
>extravagant but still down to earth
>crazy guest features
Still excited for new music, but I thought that 12 minute clusterfuck worked really well as a final bow.
I really hope Gorillaz is all back together for the next album, I heard the next album will be fast and happy, which will be nice since Demon Days and Plastic beach were pretty sad.
Watch the Music videos in order
Rock the House
Feel Good inc
On Melancholy Hill
Do Ya thing
Also there's a lot of Gorillaz interviews with the characters you can look up.
I would say look at the Gorillaz wiki to find out the backstory on everything Gorillaz related.
id disagree on that
>not posting pic related
>being this selective
He looked younger in "Do Ya Thing" and gif related than he did in "Stylo". I think Hewlett just makes him look however he feels like at the time, hence why it's inconsistent. It's silly to start going " oh my god he's aged now" based off one picture.
>Not posting the Rise of The Ogre audiobook.
A lot of the humor comes from the characters speaking their lines aloud.
