First comic: The Stonecutters
shit you're right.
Feel nice while listening some real chiptune music.
At some point you can forgive that because of how pretty and weird and alive the art and world are.
Sure, it's dumb on some level but it's enthralling.
Think about how dumb some of the stories are in Heavy Metal, but it's still fun if not fascinating to watch most if not all of them.
You gotta remember that these were written by a dude with an ego that would crush Trump's and who believes that all of his movies and comics taken together will reveale a meta-wisdom humanity desperately requires.
He has his ups and downs. The first two tomes of The Incal, Before the Incal, and tomes 1-4 Alef-Tau are excellent IMO.
His crazyness makes for great original settings when his ego isn't too apparent. Plus Metabarons is one of the best attempts at mythos in a sci-fi universe that I've seen.
I wish he could refrain from injecting his fetishes so much into his books, though. Megalex is particularly blatant in that regard ; he puts deus ex machina incest and hermaphrodites in the final part for no good reason.
