Today's the day! Miraculous Ladybug Episode 1: The Bubbler airs on Nickelodeon in 9 hours.
Also, Le Chevalier Noir airs on TF1 in 30 minutes.
Episodes & Subtitles
I think we should all take a moment to appreciate this marvel of nature.
>Mime is airing in France next weekend
>Pigeon is airing in America next weekend
Best episodes so far imo.
Well, an Copycat for obvious reasons. Can't wait for little American kids to be indulged on the pleasure of catboy selfcest.
Every country is airing in a different order, not just Nick. The first episode for France wasn't a story introduction either. Origin story is set to be the season finale.
Doesn't make a difference if Bubbler or Stormy Weather is aired first.
Eh. It's kinda early for me, but it looks really good, and the characters are all pretty fun and cute. Just wish I knew what's up with the villain and the weird creatures that allow Ladybug and Cat Noir to transform.
The hot cat boy is just a plus.
Hey guys, /a/ here, I couldn't catch the premiere cause of stuff. I've gotten it into the head of my sister (9yrs. old) that she should watch this, but I can't find the air schedule in the U.S (or if it will be reshown).
Can anyone help me out? In return a pre-3D gif.
I will bet you all 100 shekels that Vic Mignogna will play nath
Most of the reviews I've seen have been positive.
Why didn't they air ladybug after or before their big Christmas special they had last night? There would of been much more people watching.
Not just Tumblr, people in earlier /co/ threads have been rather negative about it too. I thought it was alright, but they could definitely have done a better job, considering the talent involved.
Yeah, I saw some more positive ones as I continued to scroll. I jumped the gun on that. Though, it seems a lot of people have that weeb mentality of "I watched it in X language, that version is better/the one I'll keep watching/ect..."

On the other hand it's also annoying to get accused of thinking like this if you truly just happens to dislike the English voices.
I thought it was ok, not good but not egregiously bad. Marinette wasn't bad and the rest of the cast was fine. The problem is Papenbrook; his voice will always be annoying.
I still think it sounds better in French, though. Stupid sexy French.
>but the lips were synced to English
This makes me curious about what the original scripts are like. Do that have improper English, like that old Code Lyoko pilot film? Or is the English proper, but comes off very dry, like when you directly translate Japanese?
The french version is the original script. So if you want to figure out what the original.
For instance when Ladybug throws up the Lucky item in the air, she's supposed to say "Miraculous Cure".
I really wish Vic was Adrien. he would have been better than Bryce.
That doesn't really sit with me. I think Vic would be a bad choice. Just think of tamaki flirting over haruhi from ohshc, and paste that over footage of cat and lady. To me it just doesn't sit right. Even though when I think about it tamaki and Adrien are the same character.
Is there a decent version of a poster or something for this show? All I can find is a Korean version.
Nice thanks. Found a portrait version as well.
It actually paces cat noirs crush on ladybug. First ep he wiggles eyebrows. Second he flirts, third there's a kiss on the hand.
its so weird to hear him speaking english
Okay coming from a person that has inside stuff on Funi, Vic is the biggest diva I have ever seen. However my friend got to see one of his worse tantrums.
>Friend playing background stuff for an anime
>Vic was in a booth next to her
>Vic was suppose to play this gay character
>He gets upset because he loves Jesus and hates homos
>"Can you please change the line to sound less yaoi-ish"
>"No Vic we can't change the script"
>"PLEASE ITS AGAINST MY RELIGION"
>My friend in a soundproof booth heard him scream and punching the wall
>He started screaming MOTHER FUCKERS and slammed the door flipping people all while screaming "Fuck you" a lot
>Her director, Todd, when and said
>"This is why I never work with him"
Not only is he a shitty VA with little to no range that plays 80% of blonde anime characters, he is also a big baby that sings christian music and doesn't want to be professional.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention how he is a borderline pedophile. To sum one of the pedo stories, he basically has underage girls coming in and out of his room at con.
I really don't want to derail the tread too much.
But I surprisingly have more pedo stories on him since his diva tantrums are pretty normal.
I'll have story but he openly admitted on this one [spoilers] Every fucking panel he has to talk about himself for an hour [/spoiler]
>Vic was a home
>Underage weebs found out where he lives
>Came to his house dressed with Naruto jackets, Hot topic shirts, carrying ramune and pocky as gifts to their god
>Vic opens the door
>They flip their shit to see that he actually lives there
>Instead of thanking for the gifts and politely letting them go
>HE LETS THEM IN HIS HOUSE
I think that was the one that got him in serious trouble
I've only seen a few minutes of the Korean dub. My opinion is that the English dub is completely passable. If you don't speak French or Korean, it's leagues ahead of Tumblr's awful subtitles.
Some people mentioned it has bad lip sync. If you're basing this on the MEGA rips, keep in mind that the audio desyncs. By the end of the episode, it's off by nearly half a second.
You mean the biggest no homo character ever.
He voiced Fai while insisting that he was straight, to the point that he lied about CLAMP claiming that he was straight. Cue Fai's backstory.
It's funny pictures like this make it clear just how attractive Marinette actually is.
This is a gay thread. Stop derailing with your hetero nonsense.
Not appreciating beauty no matter the gender.
This picture always manages to stir up some strange feelings. Sometimes I put myself in place of Chat, sometimes in Ladybug.
Simply put it's hot. And I can't put my finger on why.
It's just the feeling of overpowering ladybug or being over powered by cat...
I guess if its one more
So the friend I mention before is on his current shit list. Basically Vic is friends with someone she knew in high school (don't remember if it was a teacher of student). So the guy took a selfie of himself at Vic's hotel room and there were underage fangirls in the photo. My friend saved it before he deleted it on Facebook.
She has shown it to me and I've asked for a copy.
However she didn't want to since she wants it for herself to use as blackmail against Vic if her harasses her again. I really wished I had it or I would post it in a heartbeat.
I think what he really means is that Chat will never do anything that Lady won't want. And because Lady is really thirsty...
Contrarian opinion incoming
Went to a panel of his this year and his religion shit was annoying but he talked about being an actor who got a lot or shit recently from other Christians for playing an Athiest character.
He showed his Star Trek stuff that a bunch of people got to ask questions about because it is actually good. Still a shit ton of girls there who asked him to do the weirdest fucking lines. He commented that he has an image problem because he'll do the lines that girls ask him to do.
He got asked to do more lines and danced around half her questions to avoid doing it. In general unless they are taking requests you shouldn't ask an actor to do lines.
rip anon here. Ripping The Bubbler in 720p
720p WEBRip of Episode 1 "The Bubbler" (english dub, optional eng subs):
I'll probably start an updateable folder, like in OP. Or maybe you guys can just add these to the existing one
Saw this for the first time. Yeah, Nick, running the origin episode first would have been REAL NICE.
Am I the only one getting a "Sailor Moon" vibe off of this? The clumsy geek heroine, the crush on the handsome boy who's secretly her partner, the magical attacks, the transformation sequence - - heavy Sailor Moon/magical girl influence.
>Oh yeah I forgot to mention how he is a borderline pedophile
I heard funanimation fired a guy that recently (well not that recently) was taken to court in a CP case. Not Vic though, don't remeber the name but I'm sure it was from Funanimation
Not the usual french rip guy, but here is 540p of "Le chevalier Noir":
I can probably do 720p, but you already have person to take care of it.
>, running the origin episode first would have been REAL NICE.
Which one is it?
We don't have the original episodes yet. But Astruc and his gf have confirmed that there's a two parter origin and that the networks decided to put them ad the last episodes of season 1 (this was back when onlyethe Korean episodes existed tho. Dunno if the French Network and Nick will do the same.)
Let's all be honest, would you want fangirls asking Vic if he could do an impression of cat noir flirting with ladybug? I think I might puke.
Garbage, nothing will ever top the 7s get.
I want to give Chat a bellyrub, if you know what i mean.
Vic voiced Fai from Tsubasa. Fai is a very flamboyant character who is heavily hinted at by the authors to be soulmates with another male character. The authors, CLAMP, have at least one gay couple in every manga and even started out making boys love doujinshi. Soulmates(especially same sex ones) in their manga usually give up arms, eyes and blood to each other which is what Fai and the other character Kurogane did, just to illustrate that it isn't just fanon and crazy shippers. All characters in CLAMP manga are pansexual by default. Vic being the homophobe that he is absolutely refused to admit he was voicing a gay character. He lied that he had personally spoken to CLAMP about the characters and they said that Fai was in no way gay. His story was full of holes since CLAMP can't speak English and he doesn't speak Japanese. They don't have any assistants and they don't put out a phone number for people to contact them with. He then claimed that he spoke to them while they were at a con in America. The last time they were there was before Tsubasa was even scheduled to have an anime. Which means he supposedly asked them about the sexuality of a character from a manga he doesn't read before he even could have gotten the job. According to him CLAMP said Fai was in love with Chii. Chii already had a soulmate from her own series and in Tsubasa she was made by Fai in the image of his deceased mother... So according to Vic incest>homosexuality.
It's only been one episode on Nick but were the ratings good? I really hope this show survives.
The thing to your left is your Christmas present to car noir. How fucked are you?
A big, comfy winter blanket. The perfect thing for snuggling with Catboi.
Also, my car actually is noir.
Well, I hope he takes good care of it.
Fuck off man. If this show were an anime it would look like shit. Just look at sailor moon crystal or dragon ball super.
It would probably look more like Heartcatch or Princess Precure. Which aren't the pinnacle of animation, but neither is 3D Ladybug.
Anyway, that ship sailed long ago.
Can we just agree that style doesn't dictate the quality? You can make great anime/cartoon like Oban, and you can make shit anime like Naruto. You can make great CGI show like MfT, and you can make shitty CGI show like
actually, I don't have a good example of CGI TV series that would be outright atrocious
Pretty Cure is also a heavily funded show. The people who they have working on there are their A-listers, and they tend to keep you there.
At this point in time it's the exception not the rule, and even then the most you could hope for is decent animation.
Top fucking kek - russian dub just got announced. It will start airing on Dec 19 on Disney Channel, and series is called "Lady Bug and Super Cat", and yes, "bug" is transcribed as it's pronounced, but the only somewhat known meaning of the world "бaг" in russian is programming bug.
He doesn't seem to have a super steady stream of work. He still does mostly anime, unlike Laura Bailey or Troy Baker who have largely moved on to just doing video games and a few domestic productions. I know he is in some upcoming stuff but not as much as he used to be
What is with with so many
24 year olds?
Well everyone's foreheads are a bit large in this series.
In other news someone actually post some decent on Ao3.
That was the original idea yeah, but they replaced Felix with a new Chat Noir character called Adrien who was less aloof and more just reserved.
Felix is a bit more well-defined at first, but is also more of an anime cliche, at least according to the show's creator Thomas Astruc.
Yeh me too. Although after the first 12 episodes I'm starting to see how Adrien can actually seem a bit more depthful, or at least a more realistic personality. One of the problems with characters that seem vibrant and well-defined in the first 5 minutes you see them is that they burn out quick.
That, and Felix's motivation for woo-ing ladybug is that getting her (kiss I think) would relieve him of his bad luck in his normal life. so it was more of an extrinsic thing, and not really him feeling an attachment to Ladybug.
Adrien seems a bit more genuinely in love with Ladybug.
Yeh, but their personalities kinda change when they transform. Felix would cut loose from his aloof persona as Chat Noir, and ladybug would become a bit more serious or focused (not impressed with Chat Noir at all).
Chat Noir behaves differently from Adrien as well though like Marinette there are hints about him being Chat being there as well.
Adrien and Marinette aren't easily definable despite it seeming that way at first glace.
People are saying that the cgi is cliche, but I assure you that if it was 2d it would look cliche too. (Sorry bad English)
It's those fucking weebs i tell ya what
Why does she look like she's enjoying it so much if she's supposed to be in love with Adrien, not Chat?
I imagine her heart realized something her brain hasn't yet.
New Nick promo video.
IM 99.9% SURE THAT MISTER PIGEON IS VIC MIGNOGNA
Why? I don't know anything about how cartoons get dubbed in Russian, but why not just call him Чepный Кoт?
Or Гoлyбoй Кoт.
A lot of times, names get changed due to copyright reasons. For example, Disney's Moana is going to be renamed as "Vaiana" in a lot of European countries because there's already a brand of perfume named Moana.
Maybe there's another character or brand registered under the name Чepный Кoт, so the translators had to get creative.
Other times, it's also for cultural reasons. The American dub changed Chat Noir to "Cat Noir" because his original name sounded too girly to American test audiences, and they couldn't call him "Black Cat" because there's already a Marvel superheroine with that name.
Makes sense, but how does "Chat Noir" sound any more or less girly than "Cat Noir?"
I don't think you're supposed to pronounce the T, it sounds more like just "Sha" when they say it in the show.
But honestly, I think they should have just translated it to Black Cat to avoid awkward pronunciation. Kids aren't likely to know what Noir means anyway, it'll go right over their head.
I knew what noir ment because my crayons had the names in French, Spanish, and English. But then again, who uses crayons nowadays when you can do it digitally?
Also, black cat is already a copyrighted name in the U.S
Does anyone have the production order for the episodes?
Oh, good point. Then yeah I wish they stuck to Chat Noir and just really practiced pronouncing it correctly. Maybe throw in some other french names so it's not out of place. What do they call Papillon in the english version? That could have easily been kept.
What scene is this nightmare from?
They call him hawkmoth. Astruc thought of it.
Nick.com seems to be using the production codes in the url for their videos so as they upload more you could get the code for each episode that way.
For example, The Bubbler is referred to as episode 109 in its url.
I know I just wanted to know if there's a list? I remember someone saying that the origin eps were made first.
>Turn on Disney chanell to see what's on
>Miraculous Ladybug here already
I don't think there is. I've only heard that Bubbler is 109 and Evillustrator is 102.
At least black cat makes sense, because it's literally what he is. Super cat makes no sense at all.
Dunno, maybe because "чёpный кoт" is associated with bad luck around here. There is even "if black cat crosses your path" song
I'm glad French have the right priorities
Ep11. Chat gets shot with an arrow that makes him an asshole so ladybug had to kiss him to break the spell.
If this was made in America would ladybug be a clover?
Ya'll watched that promo video talking about the Ladybug project, right? These people aren't fucking around. They're throwing everything they've got at it to try and make it a huge hit.
ripanon here. Ladybug went up on iTunes, so if anyone if wishing to pitch in $10 iTunes gift card for the greater good (that is 1080p WEB-DLs), contact me on Kametsu or via skype herr.reinstrom
>Le Chat Noir is thought to be the first modern cabaret
Wew lad, are the French ever not lewd?
And Ladybug's his pimp.
You think that's bad?
Ladybugs also known as ladybirds, have a very large sex and are extremely promiscuous and one of a few creatures that enjoy having sex. Probably explains their common association with lingerie.
I am eternally grateful to the French for blessing us with this glorious show full of slutty Catbois and lewd Ladybugs.
Hey wait, is English Papillion voiced by that Bethesda voice actor?
Lol yeah, and it's a shame because otherwise, that's a great pic, especially those lips. Ladybug has some of the prettiest eyes I've ever seen, but I guess they're probably not easy to draw.
God dammit my sides are tearing apart, I'm unfortunately a native speaker and that just sounds awkward as fuck. Not to mention that they didn't translate "Lady Bug" but put a space in it...
Okay, I'm definitely gonna buy it. But on Christmas
because I'm a NEETso I can ask for an iTunes card as a gift and not be asked what for.
I'll try to upload it on Mega, of course.
Anyone have any photoshop skills? I want to see how the characters look with different hair colors.
>lady wifi is the forth ep in French
What is pasing.
That's hot af, she wears it better than he does. Is there a corresponding pic with Chat wearing Ladybug's costume, that's slightly small on him and a little too tight in certain places?
You can do it yourself, really, there's nothing hard about this
OH i thought you wanted to give him an old man hairline.
Well it's confirmed. Erin Fitzgerald will play Rose and Juleka.
