How does it feel knowing your favorite character will never surpass his popularity?
>>77959359
But pre-Nolan era Batman is my favorite character.
>>77959359
pretty gud considering I like spider-
oh
Happy since that means I don't have to deal with as many retarded fans of the character but I'm scared for when he gets his movie and people claim his successor was SJW pandering garbage and that they're glad he's no longer relevant when in reality he was one of the best legacy characters aound
>>77959359
>implying Batman isn't my favorite character
:^)
>bane will never surpass batman
oh really?
>>77959359
He is my favorite character. So good.
>>77959359
>my favorite character will never be poorly written by hundreds of hacks trying to make names for themselves
thank goodness!
>>77959686
...this is actually a good point.
>>77959757
It's why Daredevil is so consistently good. Popular enough to warrant good writers but not super popular enough that everyone wants to write him.
The ultimate B hero
>>77959359
Batman is not more popular than Harry Potter faggot!
Punisher is pretty well known, gets more popular all the time. New comic AND TV show on the way, feels good man.
>>77959962
Yep, he's in that sweet spot where he is popular enough to get good writers but doesn't have a million fucking casuals and 15 different books each month fucking up his lore and continuity.
Wolverine used to be like that in the eighties and all his best stories came out then except maybe Old Man Logan which is a complete reboot and Marvel is even fucking Old Man Logan up now.
>>77959974
>Batman is not more popular than Harry Potter faggot!
>>77959359
I've accepted it. How does it feel to know DC will never have anything successful that doesn't involve Batman and they'll keep rebooting his character and beating that dead horse for decades to come until there's nothing original or entertaining left about him?
>>77960947
We got Grayson and Gotham Academy out of DC's love for him. Feels good.
>>77960947
>Damage control- the post
I dont even care. most characters only get worse when they are more popular and Batman is no exception.
>>77959359
>implying my favorite character isn't the lord Jesus Christ
>>77960947
>until there's nothing original or entertaining left about him?
>until
that's already happened.
I'd say he has a better-than-average chance of surpassing Bats in the next few years, if he's not there already.
>>77959359
>How does it feel knowing your favorite character will never surpass his popularity?
Feels good to know that the universe is intelligible and paradoxes cannot exist.
>>77959463
How are Batman comics before 2005 significantly different from Batman comics after 2005? Specifically, in a way relevant to the movie?
>>77959359
I've moved long past that. It's enough to know Dick is one of the most "sexy" DC characters.
>>77961031
This.
>>77959686
How is it a good thing? DC will never allow hacks on their main title if anything.
>>77961188
Not completely owned by Disney, so no.
>>77959463
Batman has been Batgod since 90s. The only difference it made is making an already popular character more popular.
>>77965418
Batman's record is pretty shitty anon. He's got some really high points among a sea of mediocrity.
>>77960726
Hairy Potter is more relevant than DC desu senpai imo
>>77965547
That's mostly because DC has a lot of titles in his name, not because of bad writers on the main title. His main title has been mostly okay.
>>77959359
Batman is popular for his villains and his gadgetry more than his character... People like to self-insert with Batman, but he himself isn't all that popular.
>>77965796
How's that different from what that guy originally said? His character gets 90% shit which messes with the character and continuity because he's popular.
>>77959359
Never say never OP. Batman hasn't always been the most popular. If BvS tanks and Marvel actually get a decent Iron-man or Cap game series going either of them could over take himSuperman is my favorite character and I'm resigned to my fate
>>77965547
Yeah but his high points are what stand out and stick with people. All Batmans bad runs are forgotten about
Well Spider-Man is more popular so kill urself
>>77959359
Pretty ok honestly.
The fact that Pym has always struggled to be anything higher than a C-lister at best almost feels like part of his character.
Despite his incredibly impressive history and resume in-universe, the public has just never accepted him. Even in the movies, he and Wasp were replaced in The Avengers, and he didn't even get to be Ant-man in the movies, they started off with Scott.
It feels fitting for Hank, that even in the real world, he would be ignored, and shoved aside, and mocked for being a nobody.
>>77959359
>Implying
The Joker is the only reason Batbrains is even relevant.
>>77961102
this
>>77959359
>mfw Bats is my favorite character.
>>77959546
Ted Kord?
>>77959359
As a Halfag, I don't even know who the hell this guy is.
>>77968164
Captain America and Iron Man will never overtake Batman in popularity. And I love both of those characters. What the public likes about Iron man is that he looks cool and is played by Robert Downey Jr. Captain America is great but he has many of the same problems of Superman, and on top of that he's literally wearing a flag which is something of a turn-off to non American audiences, which is vastly important these days.
But Batman appeals to nearly everyone, has been the most popular character second to superman or spider-man at best for more than 75 years and has been on top with the only competition being Spider-man for the last 30 at least. BvS could bomb harder than nagasaki and Civil War could be the GOAT Oscar sweep three birrion dorrarudoo movie and and everything and Batman would still be more popular than both of them combined.
And I'm not even all that fond of Batman either
>>77959686
This guy gets it.
>>77959359
The nigga wrestles for most popular with Spider-Man and Superman all the time
Even b-listers like Iron Man have held that spot for short periods of time before someone else
>>77973191
>and on top of that he's literally wearing a flag which is something of a turn-off to non American audiences
I can say as a non-American that not a lot of people give a shit about this.
