Anybody got the "When the scheme's so supreme, you slip into a dream" picture of Sheev? Thought it was funny but forgot to save.
Wrong Rebels Recon in the OP. This is the newest:
Here you are.
Post your personal lightsaber and a short description.
I'm pretty sure at this point that Phasma will be a shadow trooper or some other sort of droid
None of her merchandise shows the face, in some cases even when normal stormies have them underneath the helmets, and dark troopers were recently brought back in the new canon and are even showing up among merchandise, it seems way too obvious. On the other hand, it'd be weird they've hired an actress with very specific looks only to never really show her, I guess
This is the kinda lightsaber I was/am hoping Rey gets.
Yeah, exactly. She's pretty much a character actor there, it's not really odd her face won't be shown, it's like being surprised Doug Jones rarely plays characters with human faces.
all that height talk made me realize Christie is probably the only Hollywood actress that could play a somewhat convincing Big Barda
Remember that Jedi contest when the Gennedy Clone Wars came out, and it was a werewolf that won? That was kind of lame.
I always liked the idea of the Jedi Sentinel
Try making staves! That's a good trick!
Bizarre combination, though I like the grip. It's something I can really get a grip on.
As much as this way of holding a lightsaber?
The Great and (Dubiously) Honorable Hondo Ohnaka has stole- umm, acquired new riches! Traditionally, to share such a bounty is inconceivable.
Luckily, today is a new day. And today he likes you!
Hondo's vast riches will come to you, but only if you reply: "Hondo Ohnaka the Prophet for Profit!" to this post.

THROUGH THE FORCE, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
>not knowing Agen Kolar
lol i bet you dont even herd nerfs
8/10 would use.
>on that atrocity
2/10, maybe 4/10 if it was a red blade.
7/10, most of those parts looked like shit in "standard".
6/10, it's just a spear.
5/10, lower grip area looks uncomfortable.
3/10. Too long, and the emitter is ass.
0/10, try again.
Revan go home.
>he made it ironically
I'll rate it 4/10, you could've gone WAY edgier.
The only thing interesting about Spice is a great deal of it comes from Ryloth and Twi'leks live in hardship because of it. It's like planet Columbia, but instead of cocaine its spice.
Despite everything, it is still a simple weapon.
4/10, your extended hilt triggers me.
Criticize away, friend. Be sure to go easy on my feelings.
Honestly I'm not that triggered, it's just that IMO it could've looked better with one of those "leather" pieces, as opposed to a bland extended hilt.
Although I'm not sure there's a leather piece that long that's available.
It's no problem man. Thanks for the criticism. I'll keep it in mind next time I make a saber.
Not interesting at all compared to Dune Spice
BEST SABER COMING THROUGH.
R8 me, bitches.
First attempt. Probably gonna fuck around with it more later when I've got more time.
I'm jumping on the saberstaff bandwagon, r8
4/10, your green crystal saved you.
It's good family.
5/10, remove emitter.
I'd use the fuck outta-
6/10, love it though.
Reserving judgement for when you come back with some taste
>I like it
>not having your staff leatherbound
>all of the saberstaffs ITT are shit
>I add another one to the pile
Which lightsabers of yours did I r8?
I want to see how warranted your rage is.
The Empire are the good guys anon. The rebels are actively trying to screw up the predominant order of the galaxy just because it hurts their feelings.
Just like there is more than one country/continent with different races on earth, Mandalore has the same fucking thing with their domes. She obviously comes from one of the non-white dome populations.
Switched out the emitter and tried a black leather grip.
One of my friends doesn't watch it weekly, so I was marathoning it with him, and his assessment about five minutes into his appearance was that he looked washed up. So I think they managed to convey what they wanted.
I miss his cape thing though.
Stealing your top piece because I like it.
here it is. shut up anon im tired
Im having a hard time finding a pommel I like.
>that Jedi Contest
The whole contest was an attempt to introduce species from the Cantina scene. Costumes from the Cantina scene were for the most part either taken directly out of the wardrobe department's storage (This happened with your "werewolf", who coincidentally was named Voolif Monn, as well as Devaronians, off the top of my head), or scraped together over the course of ten weeks (Talz, Aqualish, etc)
5/10, needs work
7/10, it might be easier to find a "matching" pommel without the leather grip
Anons. I love you.
But only one of you is gonna be able to use those those leather grips.
Fight to the deah for it.
He posted an image with the tabs uncropped and there was a gmail tab with the name "eddy" and the rest of his mail account name but he deleted it so only those who were on the thread at the moment would have the image loaded
I'm pretty sure at this point that Kylo Ren will be a shadow warrior or some other sort of droid
None of his merchandise shows the face, in some cases even when normal Ren have them underneath the helmets, and shadow warriors were recently brought back in the new canon and are even showing up among merchandise, it seems way too obvious. On the other hand, it'd be weird they've hired an actor with very ugly looks only to never really show him, I guess
Big, fat, heavy hilt and long blade for smashing through heavy armor and maintaining solid defensive stances.
Wish the camera was a bit more forgiving
>Ever acquiring profit.
Every one of his schemes ended with more of his men killed and his equipment blown up. He only ever ended up an episode with more than he started by following others' ideas.
I tried to keep it fairly simple, humble. I went with the lighter blue sort of recalling some of the earliest releases of A New Hope when lightsabers were much paler.
>the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the jizz
Ask him what Comic Con was like back in '76.
I've always wanted to know.
I'm curious about the actual feel of the practical shit from both the OT and new movies. Like how bad should we feel for the stormtrooper actors being trapped in those body suits for a day of shooting, did he ever catch fire by accident, etc
Oh man, this too. I forgot it existed so far back. I'm curious what real old school nerd fandom was like. My parents are great, but also normalfags even back then. Dad didn't even see the original movie in theaters, his first Stat Wars film was Empire.
Ask him about the time he turned into a bug.
I would avoid wasting everyone's time by asking him any questions about the new movies, since he's really good at keeping secrets and doesn't really slip up.
Although you know some asshole is going to go do that anyway right off the bat and blow a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ask him a real question.
My grandparents took me to a few cons in the early 90s and they were basically just a series of small conference rooms in a hotel. If you go to any small local convention it's pretty much that, except back then there was less people I guess.
Tried to get weird with it, longer hilt with the grip moved way back to make the swings more top-heavy. My take on a lightsaber great sword. R8 comment and subscribe.
3/10, weathered is ass
4/10 mini saber why.
5/10, basic, but I like the switch
>not even silver on the metal
2/10, try harder
6/10, the emitter hurts
Love it aside from the Maul emitter.
What in the actual fuck is this thing.
Shit family, I mean it ain't bad.
But isn't the hilt a little too long even for a greatsword?
Unless you're holding that one-handed, holding it in the switch area sounds painful for a prolonged period of time.
7/10, weathered finish is also ass.
I like what you're doing with it, but the emitter and that switch look awkward together.
here's mine (always loved the kenobi-style emitter).
8/10 would cut open a tauntaun with
The fuck do you mean by 'mini saber'? The hilt is at least ten inches long.
Not sure if you we're going for an edgy look.
6/10 if you were
5/10 if you weren't
If it didn't have that weathered emitter it'd be great.
The doubled up emitter and switch is aight.
It looks uncomfortable towards the top of the hilt, but I'l r8 it a 7/10
Shit, is it really? When I look at it it looks small, and I keep getting a Yoda-esque vibe from it.
And as for this one, it looks like the hilt is alot longer than the other one you posted.
8/10, I like your switch.
Fuck. I had a knock-off lightsaber from an ice cream truck when I was little that looked like that
But aside from the 2 all black pieces, I think that pommel would have been fine in standard.
>But isn't the hilt a little too long even for a greatsword?
Depends who you ask. I know zweihanders have those extensions after the hand guard to increase their overall range.
Otherwise great swords are pretty much all blade and a lot of it. Problem is, lightsaber blades are near/completely weightless. So the weight needs to come from somewhere in order to create the same heavy swings you'd get from a great sword. In this case, the upper part of the hilt.
It's completely ridiculous and pointless considering great swords only make up for their slowness with range and how hard they cut into shit due to their weight, when lightsabers can cut almost anything.
While we're on the subject of lightsabers, if you could master just two forms, what would you choose? For me I'd go Soresu+Djem So.
Revision of >>77958556
I wanted to make the pommel smoother, while still having it textured.
Aphra cameo in Rebels when?
>Chopper's having programming issues
>mission to locate the engineer who built him to find out what's wrong
>god dammit Aphra
>she "corrects his programming" and he tries to kill the Ghost crew. More than usual in any case.
>Chopper horror movie episode.
>Droid epiphany, learns the value of friendship
>Chopper throws Aphra out the airlock.
>she gets better in time for the comic.
>Aphra made Chopper
I'm honestly not opposed to that. Small galaxy as it would be, it's an easy way to give her a cameo, and put an end to the "Chopper is IG-88 in disguise" meme.
>Chopper is IG-88 in disguise
He is obviously a buzz droid brain shoved into a second hand astromech chassis when someone needed to make a droid for cheap. It is the only thing that can explain that level of deviousness and his homicidal tendencies.
Siege of Lothal should be separate too, then. But it's marked as Episodes 1 and 2 of season 2. TOS is inconsistent about it. The linked official YouTube page refers to it as S01E01 too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7Jf9KdG0gU
I know, so does Amazon. My point is that whether it is or isn't has been inconsistent. You'll find sources for both arguments. Honestly though, trying to keep it separate from the rest of season one is just dysfunctional. Things are easier referring to it as S01E01
All of my local small time conventions are basically giant parties with a theme and paneling as an afterthought. I mean there's always like 3 or 4 panels going at any given hour but unless we get a celebrity or a really good tried and true panelist, you're lucky to get even 10 people to stay.
Not exactly the design I had in mind, but it's as close as I'm going to get.
A bit simple, but I think it's kind of elegant looking.
Blibble-dibble. Couldn't be worse than mine...
Has a good weight and should prevent slipping through the hand
So rebels is getting a third season? Does this mean it survived the Weissman curse or does this not count?
We really need to get people to stop using that guide. It's shit. Just watch it all.
As for updated, the only difference is season 6 would be added, and you watch the whole thing.
Wasn't this whole theory based on Lego Phasma having a blank face? I'm not sure if that's enough because Sheev's royal guard figs also have blank heads and at some point they've simultaneously had clones with printed faces and stormtroopers with blank ones, so it's obvious that's not really solid proof
Jango Fett is cooler than Boba Fett.
Prove me wrong.
Every single clone is cooler than Jango Fett.
Prove me wrong.
I like mine. Feels bright and posh yet very solid. Unique but very simple. Blue is love. Blue is Life. But green is okay too.
>None of her merchandise shows the face
They want her to be like Boba Fett and Vader, where her mystique comes from her perpetually masked, armored appearance rather than her looks. Yes, Gwen Christie is a babe, but that's not what they want people thinking about when they see Phasma.
I'm torn between blue and green. Blue looks more refined and active to me but green makes it look more organic and venerable.
No special snowflake blade colors for me!
>Not going overboard with the design.
Plebs, all of you.
I don't get how Boba Fett has such a fanbase. All he did was 'capture' a guy who was already frozen in carbonite, and then got beat up by that same guy who was blind and thrown into a carnivorous death pit.
All these lovely lightsaber designs.
And all Disney want to do is cash in by allowing kids to build the stupidest designs imaginable.
Look at that kid's shit eating grin.
He's like "What the fuck are you gonna do about it bitch". That motherfucker knows you aint gonna say shit about his quad lightsaber. Want to fuck his shit up? Maybe he'll give ya a good stab with his 10"+ lightsaber cock. Or if he's up to it, he'll violate your other orifices with the extra ones.
>implying it's not just business as usual
Who are the best characters from The Clone Wars who only appear in one or two episodes, or at most one arc? I'm not talking about people like Hondo or Cad Bane here who show up loads of times, but people more like Riff Tamson or Ima-Gun-Di.
So I'm now mostly caught up with the new EU canon. It's mixed.
The novels are mostly good, and I'm especially digging how the story group is handling the stuff between the prequel and original trilogies (Tarkin, A New Dawn, Rebels, Lords of the Sith, etc.) The stuff set in and around the OT is a bit more mixed though, and the comics are just awful. Marvel gets their hands on Vader and the first thing they do is give him a quirky manic pixie dreamgirl sidekick and have him speak in quips? Come on man.
I'm also still not entirely sure why the entire EU was bombed when nothing in "the new EU" is contradicting the old pre-ROTJ EU stories. I'm glad they cut the post-ROTJ shit because it was always a pile of crap (Hutts with lightsabers, mary sue weapons, lightsaber kneepads, Luuuke, Triclops, etc. - virtually every single thing that people make fun of when they make fun of the EU was post-ROTJ), but why axe everything else if you weren't going to do anything interesting to replace what was removed? It's especially funky because a few of the books outright reference shit from the old EU, so it all feels like a mess. I like keeping things the same, and I like hard reboots, but this quasi-half-assed soft reboot stuff is always obnoxious.
> Just read Darth Vader and The Lost Command.
> that twist.
> Imagining if Tarkin had somehow found out the truth before a New Hope.
Damn would that be one hell of a Infinites story. Tarkin versus the Empire on his own or even defecting to the Rebels.
Ive Never thought I'd ever sympathize with Tarkin of all people, but that was fucking cold if it's still canon. And to think he and vader consider each other friends of a sort.
Aphra doesn't seem manic pixie to me at all, she seems more like a female Han Solo who just so happens to have an unhealthy thing about men in walking coffins.
Also, while Vader didn't speak in quips in ANH, he spoke almost exclusively in quips in ESB, and that seems to be what they're drawing on. It's not out of character
unless you're willing to accept that ESB's not nearly as good as everyone seems to think.
And fuck you, not all the comics are bad. Lando was amazing, Kanan's great, and Vader's good unless you just irrationally hate Aphra for some reason.
The EU got wiped because they wanted free space going forward for better long-term expansion. That's about it.
Am i too late?
>a quirky manic pixie dreamgirl sidekick
I'm tired of this argument. No one analyzes her as a character they just look at the design and roll their eyes. I'm almost convinced people just repeat what other anons have said without any regard to their own personal thoughts or feelings on the matter.
She uses her charm to disguise how much of a fucked up person she is. She's just as damaged as Vader from what we've heard.
>have him speak in quips?
You must not be a fan of Star Wars. Anakin/Vader almost speaks exclusively in quips and sarcasm. I mean Obi-Wan was his master.
>waifufags and teenagers
Believe it or not some people just like fun. Vader is a lot of fun to read. It's not Lando nor is it Kanan so the tone is completely different.
Vader and Star Wars comics encompass a lot of Star War's fun and adventure and I'm really surprised people complain when we've put up with far sillier things. This fanbase is do divided and indecisive I don't understand it.
>Reptilian, mammalian, planarian, amphibian…there were even some traits suggesting an insect-like race such as a winged Geonosian. And all those parts…they were mashed together like a reflection in a broken mirror.
Since Geonosians are basically dead at this point in time (just before TFA), we might be in for seeing another insect-race in SW.
>I'm also still not entirely sure why the entire EU was bombed when nothing in "the new EU" is contradicting the old pre-ROTJ EU stories.
Plenty already has though.
>but why axe everything else if you weren't going to do anything interesting to replace what was removed?
They're getting there, they just had to set the foundations. Stuff like Kanan, Lando, etc are getting into the more interesting stuff.
Also, they axed it because it was contradictory and just a mess in general. They wanted a fresh start.
> It's especially funky because a few of the books outright reference shit from the old EU, so it all feels like a mess. I like keeping things the same, and I like hard reboots, but this quasi-half-assed soft reboot stuff is always obnoxious.
It's not a soft reboot. The Legends EU is not canon, but is being considered a writers resource, so it can be drawn from and used.
So Wookieepedia has decided to hold one of their Mofferences to pass the Canon-as-default switch instead of waiting a week so that way two of their people can have a comfortable amount of time to work on the change over.
It's gonna be tonight at 7pm.
Aphra bugs me sometimes because she doesn't feel like she fits Star Wars, she's just a Femdiana Jones in space OC. I'm also not a fan of "Vader's assembling a group that mirrors Luke's" thing, either. The droids can be entertaining but they tend to go overboard
I'm trying to get fully caught up before the movie. I am ALMOST there, and should finish by the end of the week. Is there anything new (TV, short stories, YA books, comics, ANYTHING) coming out between now and Episode VII?
All I know of is C3PO
Consider the amount of autism in the average Wookieepedia article.
Now consider the amount of autism that must be in the kind of people who would edit multiple Wookieepedia articles.
Now do the same with the kind of people who would preside over the kind of people who would edit multiple Wookieepedia articles.
Honestly, I'm surprised there isn't more.
Wookieepedia has existed for so long that it has formed its own internal government.
You can't even vote on issues if you have fewer than 50 edits. Mine and a few other randoms were removed because of that.
Star Wars Annual #1 - 12/9
Darth Vader Annual #1 - 12/16
Kanan #9 - 12/16
A bunch of books are releasing the day of TFA's premiere
Star Wars Rebels has one more episode, titled "Legacy", coming up before it goes on a holiday hiatus
Just a heads up, it's not called "EU". That term got thrown out. It's now just "Canon" and "Legends", with the Lucasfilm Story Group working across all Canon media projects to make sure everything fits.
Anyways, I've been enjoying Canon quite a bit. A few silly things, but nothing even remotely close to some of the awfulness spawned from EU/Legends.
Not sure if this has been revealed before, but Pablo said that figure everyone thought might be a lasat is actually some species called a hassk.
Hey now, may I remind you the greatest work of the old EU was a "kiddie" book?
would've been nice if Darth Vader just chopped him in half at this point
The worst thing in Canon is Aftermath, and it doesn't actually add/take anything to/from the franchise aside from some gay characters nobody wanted. Franchise is unharmed by it. Its just a meh book.
Unlike some of the EU which permanently tainted characters and lore.
Vader wants the fleet.
If he kills the Jedi and his padawan (the most important members of the group to Vader), the other useless dregs might just bug out and run who knows where rather than skitter back to the fleet.
Exactly. Aftermath may have a shitty combination of present tense and lots of sentence fragments, but it's not really that bad of a story besides that. Nothing spectacular, certainly not the best of Canon.
Am I alone in hating that Star Wars HQ guy on youtube? His accent sounds like he's always about to puke and then he hypes everything up way waaaaay too much (you know he'll fucking hate TFA because of it), and he also clearly knows the spoilers for TFA but plays it off like he doesn't know them instead of just admitting that from the ridiculous amount of hype he has for this movie and from reading literally everything there is to know about the movie he's spoiled it for himself.
I hate him because I feel like I would be much more suitable to run a channel called "Star Wars HQ".
They claim to be a Star Wars variety channel, but 90% of their videos are shilling Battlefront, being too big of pussies to say anything bad about it.
And the rare time they cover anything other than Battlefront, its just typical "wow, TFA looks good, maybe kylo is related to Han Solo or something! It would be super sad if one of the original cast died, like Han Solo maybe!"
The couple times they talked about Rebels was retarded too. Even mentioned Seventh Sister being Bariss/Ventress.
MOTHERFUCKER, WHY CANT A STAR WARS CHANNEL JUST BE RUN BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT GOD FUCKIN DAMN.
It's been around since late 2014. Over a year. And it has a group of people managing it this time.
It's never going to get anywhere close to the levels Legends got to.
Dunno who you're talking about
Well, go run one if you can do better.
>It's been around since late 2014. Over a year.
So not only are you an idiot but also an autist who can't understand semantics.
>It's never going to get anywhere close to the levels Legends got to.
Sure thing bud, not like pic related exists or anything
I'm sure the bottom of that Standard Issue Imperial bottomless pit was full of mattresses.
Its already been confirmed for Season 3.
I'm sure they all made it to escape pods!
Are there any good Star Wars-only YouTube channels?
The only ones I've seen so far are HelloGreedo, who seems like an ignorant douche, and Star Geek, who sounds 14 years old and has bad opinions.
Greatest tragedy of the EU Purge?
Jango Fett: Open Seasons not canon
I'm not. It seems like you are though ,because you're calling everyone who disagree's with your opinion "shills".
I'm just going to stop replying because you can't seem to figure out how to have a normal discussion.
A ridiculous assertion. The old EU got so bloated due to a combination of 30 years of neglect and disinterest and lack of forethought. Any newly structured large media enterprise would have ridiculous components, but would not become possibly as large or as bloated or as ridiculous as the old EU.
Dark Disciple ain't great by any stretch, but you are kidding yourself if you don't think Aftermath is the worst star wars book to come out in the last decade.
You're completely wrong. Aftermath had a writing style you dislike and you got drawn into political reviews like a child. Dark Disciple was tantamount to character assassination and was just dumb.
Dark Disciple was a fine book. "Character assassination" as a criticism is childish at best.
>Aftermath had a writing style you dislike
Are you implying dislike isn't a reason to criticize something?
There's no way this isn't Barriss with altered vocal chords right
Like who the fuck else could it be? A rando Force sensitive Mirialan who uses an acrobatic fighting style? There's no obvious hints yet but there also wasn't any obvious hints she was a terrorist until halfway through the third episode of that TCW arc
>Dark Disciple was a fine book.
A book which had a 40 year old Jedi Master trained in undercover operations completely be unable to interact or communicate in an actual human or logical fashion is not a 'fine book'.
>"Character assassination" as a criticism is childish at best.
I like your 'no u' method of argument.
>Are you implying dislike isn't a reason to criticize something?
Yes, since objective criticism is a mug's game. At a certain point saying something is 'the worst ever' can only ever be contextually codified by a complete detachment from characterization logic, which Aftermath cannot be faulted for. Everything else is fluff.
At any rate, they addressed Luminara, there's no way Barriss won't pop up some time
I really like the yellow blade.
>A Jedi is written as doing something stupid
Welcome to Star Wars.
There's no such thing. "The worst ever" will literally ALWAYS boil down to "I like this more than I like this."
Not my logic, but nice try. My point is Jedi are always borderline autistic.
But what was that you were saying about objective criticism? Because you seem to have forgotten to respond to that part of my post in favor of an insult.
But their using sith teachings, they should be already growing past what Palpatine can control since it's sith nature to seek power. Unless he has some crazy way of limiting them.
I'm a new canon guy but come on guys. I remember in this very thread when that guy was revealed everyone was saying it was retarded as fuck. As much as I like the new canon come 10-20 years it's going to be full of all kinds of retarded shit.
They're only taught very basic powers. They don't get to learn stuff like Force Lightning. And considering Palpatine has direct access to the Sith Shrine underneath the Jedi Temple, he probably has ways of limiting them with The Force.
No it wont. The Story Group and Lucasfilm have a clear plan and vision for where they want to go this time.
Legends didn't get that and fell victim to mismanagement and allowing anyone and anyone to write books without necessarily making sure it fit with previous books.
>character who wears Mandalorian armor and has a Mandalorian lifestyle
>needlessly turned a character into a Mandalorian
I get that the wook went full retard over that toy shit but why do people think it's so crazy to assume that Jango and Boba were Mandalorian? In fact what's people's problem with the EU in general? The EU is basically exactly what we have now. It WAS canon when it was coming out and George even thought of a lot of it as canon. The only reason why it's no longer canon is because Disney didn't want to have to deal with all the legal bullshit that was created by letting like 20 different companies create Star Wars canon over the years. The way I see it was if you can accept all the new canon that's made mostly without Lucas then why can't you guys accept that the EU used to be canon? Either way Star Wars is something that isn't controlled by Lucas anymore and is a huge world made by hundreds of different people.
Sorry if this starts an argument but I've been into the new canon but in the past few months I've been getting more and more into the EU and I've found that a lot of people in this thread probably didn't even like Star Wars before Disney bought it. I hate to pull the 'TRUFAN' card but I think it really applies here.
>wears Mandalorian armor
This is true.
>has a Mandalorian lifestyle
This is not.
Open Seasons CREATED the Mandalorian lifestyle around Jango Fett. It's based on him, not the other way around.
This is no longer the case, and Jango is now a unique (other than being cloned) bounty hunter. He's his own thing.
