>"True Meaning of Christmas" episode
>"Christmas is about togetherness."
>It's a "we gotta save Christmas/Santa" episode
Yeah it's really about buying shit for stupid kids and Santy Klauzz.
>It's a hanukkah episode
>Everybody makes fun of the dreidels
I'm not even Jewish and it pisses me off.
>They actually mention Jesus
I thought it was a celebration of the birth of Jesus

>IT'S ALL ABOUT PRESENTS.
>Every adult in the story thinks Santa isn't real
>Turns out Santa was always real and he convinces the skeptical adult by giving him that one Christmas present he never got as a kid on that very Christmas Day that made him not believe in Santa anymore

I liked that Santa didn't want to believe that giving presents to all the good children in the world affected their perception of what Christmas means.

Christmas was always a minor holiday in Christian theology.
It wasn't until it started being about trees and opening presents and Santa that people started actually liking it.
So no. Besides, Christians stole it from the pagans in the first place.

The only connection to paganism was when Julian the Apostate moved Sol Invictus to try and co-opt Christmas.

As a kid raised with Christmas, dreidels seemed fucking awesome. Hanukkah in general did.
Chocolate coins, gambling, potatoe pancake things, fire, and a story of an ancient war.
The actual community traditions of going to the temple and shit seemed dull, but doing religious stuff as a community always sucked to me. Keep it to the family and close friends, not co-workers and neighbors. I had more fun cleaning Civil War graves on Memorial day as a kid than awkward Christmas parties.

>Christmas was always a minor holiday in Christian theology.
>Believing Protestant lies.
>Period-accurate sets and visuals
>Great soundtrack that isn't just public domain songs
>Makes me tear up at some point
>Moral is not plainly stated, but is entirely illustrated
>"True Meaning of Christmas" episode
>is cynical, aren't-we-clever-subverting-your-expectations crap
I want to see a secularized Ramadan holiday special.

The shock value doesn't last, but there's usually someone who's watching that hasn't seen that a dozen times before.
And it's not like I would want Invader Zim to be sentimental about anything.

Eh? What about Saturnalia?
>>77929214
>Saturnalia
>December 17th
>>77928361
>christmas episode
>their is always snow on the ground.
fucking hell December is a struggle for the snow to stay, then in January it stays and i want it gone.
But Christmas IS about togetherness!
>>77928361
Remember when Dexter's Lab basically said "fuck that, it's only about presents"?
That was pretty ballsy for a kids' show.
>>77929253
>that episode that's just about snow and winter weather that they play because the show doesn't have a Christmas episode
