>Amazing how all it takes is a catchy song to make a Victorian morality play popular again
>Victoria? The only royalty I care about is the payment I get every time this song plays!

Still the best.

>tfw this is one of your fave Christmas Carol adaptations
Right behind the Patrick Stewart version.
>>77929432
HE was great, i wasnt too fond of the rest of it
you wanna talk about great adaptations of classic literature though, the patrick stewart version of animal farm
>>77929487
I dunno, the part where Christmas Present shows him all the different people singing "Silent Night" always had me a little teary.
Seeing coal miners walking joyfully out the bowels of the earth, singing "CHRIST THE SAVIOR IS BORN!" at the top of their lungs was too awesome for words.
>best Christmas Carol adaptation
>not Scrooged, featuring Bill "Groundhog Day, Ghostbustin'-ass" Murray

Keep em coming /co/. Make Statler and Wardoof proud.
>>77930261
Best Christmas Carol adaption is either Scrooged or A Blackadder Christmas Carol.
Literally all of Blackadder is amazing though.
>>77930261
>>77930850
if youre going to be the lion king to a christmas carol's hamlet, yeah, by all means, those are the best, but for authentic ones..
>>77930991
>implying Scrooged isn't a masterfully done rendition with terrific writing, acting, and special effects
The best renditions of A Christmas Carol are the ones that deviate from the story everyone knows.
Fuck, I'd probably put the Muppets version above a number of "authentic" ones I've seen simply for it's amazing portrayal of Scrooge, and the original Disney one, debut of Scrooge McDuck, is often regarded as one of the best as well.
>>77931139
The spirits of Christmas in the Muppets version are all really good as well. I was actually sad when Christmas Present disappeared because he was so damn likable, and the proportions of Christmas Yet to Come are downright unnerving.
>>77931694
Spirits are fantastically done in Scrooged, too, actually. Very interesting designs and rednitions.
Christmas Past being an insane taxi driver, as well as Future being a downright terrifying Reaper with a TV face is probably the creepiest one I've seen.
>>77931139
I find it funny that the only version of this story (that I know of) where Scrooge is shoved kicking and screaming into the fiery inferno of hell is the Mickey Mouse one.
>>77931139
>The best renditions of A Christmas Carol are the ones that deviate from the story everyone knows.
The best Christmas Carol adaptation is Matthew McConaughey's Ghost of Girlfriends Past.

>They like to feel like someone's actually talking to them!

I'm just saying, Muppets is the most authentic one, but you have to have a separate category for the more creative ones or it's not a fair comparison
>>77930646
>Ya hear that? He said "keep em coming".
>I hear his girlfriend says that to a lot of guys
>DOHOHOHOHOI'm sorry

>What's that?
>Well, one is this thread.

>You know what the only good thing about this thread is?
>What?
>The hiding feature

I just watched this and Muppet's Treasure Island again yesterday. I hope they start doing movies like those again now that the Muppet's are "back".
>>77934717
yeah that would be the logical next place to go. something everyone can enjoy.. Maybe uh... a classic fairytale. i'd like it if they got back to their old fairytale roots like that bit with the princess with reversed speech
hell that's how kermit got his collar, he was originally going to be a court jester in that story but they changed it around
