Assuming we can choose any of the rings and have the emotions to use it properly then I'd choose Blue. In the comics, Blue is routinely explained to be the most powerful of the colors (not including white and black). The only time a color can be more powerful than Blue is if a Green is in the presence of a Blue.

If we have to choose based off of our own emotions, then I doubt I could control anything but the Red (maybe Blue), and even that's probably pushing it.

So you don't get to punch people with giant glow fists, but it's essentially an all-purpose medical/therapy beam that allows you to fly through space.

It also provides buffs to Green Lanterns and debuffs to Yellow and Red Lanterns.

Blue and Green are nice, but most people don't exactly have the sheer willpower or optimism to use either.

If i'm being honest. most of the planet (/co/ included) would be ensnared by either Orange or Red, if half of the shit posted here is to be taken into consideration. Humans are some cynical motherfuckers.

Red would literally kill - as none of us have enough raw emotional pain to sustain ourselves indefinitely. The Red ring would eat any of us up. Orange would similarly cripple any chance you could have as a normal life, as you'd forcefully obtain anything you want - damn the consequences.

Contrary to popular belief, the Indigo Staff/Ring isn't drawn to people with compassion. It forces itself on people WITHOUT it. Much like the Orange ring, it literally reprograms the user's personality to fall in line with the emotion. In the case of Indigo, you won't be greedy, but you'll be lucky if any action you take will ever be for yourself again.

Yellow is also likely for most people on the plant. We're ruled by our fears and anxieties. But what's worse is that there are always people who use that to their advantage.

Black is self-explanatory. White is the ideal.
