I remember seeing a few interesting explanations for it and mainly comes down to the jump in entertainment technology between the 90's and 2000s. The internet was a big thing and we were the last generation to have spent a good portion of our childhood without it. I've been told that newer generations kind of blend together because of the internet sharing it all, so the 90's generation might be the last generation to have its own distinct feel. And of course the internet is a medium for nostalgia wanking.

I've lived in the South for over 15 years. I've never met a "Southern belle". Everyone here is trailer trash or black.
