Some were good, but they were obviously used to make the actual show shorter.

They're kinda like those new overly-elaborate couch gags from The Simpsons. They just exist to waste time and save money.

You're complaining that shows have shortened the amount of reused content in each episode?
>>
>>77899814
More cartoon, less bullshit. I don't see the problem.
>>
>>77899998
Shorter intros mean more adverts.

Cartoons used to be 25 minutes long. Now they're 22 minutes.

The elaborate Simpsons couch gags are to fill time, to take it up to the allotted 22 minutes.
>>
>>77899814
I can't feel disappointed that an 11-minute short doesn't have a 60-second intro.

Lately The Simpsons has been doing little outros at the end because they don't have enough material to fill an episode even with all the commercials and the extended couch gags. They'll toss in a 3-minute Edward Gorey parody or a short about Milhouse doing something.

The episodes still manage to feel thin and stretched-out anyway.

And this is why we can't have nice things.

shorter intros =/= longer episodes
shorter intros = more ads

Do you really want to waste a minute every time you watch a show to see something you've seen dozens of times?
>>
>>77900602
there are some intros that are worth watching everytime

I theorized decades ago when I was a kid that that pattern is just going to get worse; soon a 30-minute show will be 15 minutes of show, 15 commercials, then ten minutes of show, and so on and so forth.

Eventually we'll get to a point where a 30-minute show is 29 minutes of ads.

Eventually, TV will be solely ads.

All that said, I'd rather TV in general be a tweaked version of how it works in Idiocracy.
>ads constantly surround the actual show in the center of the TV
>the show itself has zero ads
>as long as you can train yourself to not look at the ads on the side you basically have ad-free tv

at least ads don't ask for 20+ minutes of your time a piece
>>
Few intros are worthwhile enough to watch every time. Also extremely short intros aren't going to play with commercials on each side.

The real tragedy is commercials playing over comfy ending themes.

Wasn't Regular Show got new intro in newest episode?

>11-minute short doesn't have a 60-second intro
If they are the pilots, they haven't the 60-sec intro.
>>
>>77899998
The couch gags are the only interesting thing left in the Simpsons...
>>
>>77902960
We already have shows that only exist to sell toys you know. Those are 30 min ads.

The couch gags are great

Any examples of the best intros?
