Quick question. Didn't Logan say that last issue, his future wasn't possible in this timeline?
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>77872362

Nope but now I'm wondering why he's surprised that cyclops is dead here >>77872253
when Storm told him that last issue.

FFS Lemire, you can't even keep continuity in your own fucking book.
>>
>>
>>77872429
At least he's being honest.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>77872440
>FFS Lemire, you can't even keep continuity in your own fucking book.
He has Old Man Logan and Teen Jean in his book. He's learning from the master.

I don't have a hand big enough to make a wanking gesture that encapsulates my feelings on this page

It's the X-Team I never knew I wanted.

Just fuck already.
>>
>>
>>
And that's it for this issue. Hope you all enjoyed the storytime.
>>
>>77872529
>To me, my X-men.
There it is again. Bendis killed it, and Lemire is just stomping it to the ground. That line lost all it's "oomph."
>>
>>77872654
It never had oomph to begin with.
>>
>>77872209

Are we sure this isn't teen Iceman?
>>
>>77872687
I don't even remember it being that much used, until Whedon made it a thing. And even then, it wasn't really used that much until Bendis started overusing it. I've read X-Men for like 20 years, and this line only recently started being a thing.

>>
>>77872719
Does this look like gay Iceman to you?
>>
My god I hate Jean.
>>
>>77872687
It did when bendis started his run. When Cyke showed up at JGS. But then all we got out of it was the Kekoos joining him instead of any of the other X-kids joining.
>>
>>77872775

Aren't they both gay now?
>>
>>77872819
Yup.
>>

Yes, they are. Present Bobby had no choice.

Missed. Fucking. Opportunity.

Storm has never had the authority to utter said words. Xavier and Cyke are/were the only ones who could say it with meaning.
>>

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>77872721
Didn't Storm say it in the first issue too? I thought Bendis overused it, but it seems Lemire might try to break that record. He really is learning from the master.

Forgive me, since I'm not exactly an X-men aficianado. But what
>>

Ohh boy, I sure didn't! Really fuck this book.
>Alternate reality Logan
>Revive night crawler
>Past Jean
>>
>>77872429
This Jean barely knew Wolverine
>>
>>77873230

OK from the top

-Professor X was killed
-Red skull stole his brain and imprinted his personality into it and was slowly destroying Xavier's to gain full access to his powers
-magneto kills Red skull which causes Red Onslaught to be born
-Dr Strange tries to make a spell that inverts the Xavier persona to take control and it backfires and makes heroes and villains personalities inverted
-at the conclusion of this story Dr Doom snuck off with Xavier's brain in Red Skull's body with the Xavier personality in control and was experimenting with it.

>>77873155
What I meant is that it wasn't used during Claremont's run, nor Lobdell, Nicieza, Fraction, Gillen's etc. It only became a thing like, 3 years ago.

I've browsed CBR once. The word "drones" does not give any justice. X-fags are a damp squib. The other boards, ho ho, their enthusiasm, is like
"That book is a blast! The Best Writing ever! The Best art ever! I'm so excited, oh my god the creative team is killing it! I love it! My favorite book ever!", and etc. I wish I was exaggerating. I think it has a lot to do with the new rules forbidding any criticism. Everyone of value got banned, and only interns and shills remained.
>>
>>77873495
And I didn't mention him in my post, did I?
>>
>>77872320

Your forgetting that X-fags are battered housewives. I think reddits comic book communities are a better example.
>>
>>77872721
When Whedon used it was a great moment, that's when Cyclops finally broke out of Professor X's shadow after 40 years to be become the undisputed leader of the X-Men.

no one buys Storm as the leader with Wolverine and Jean Grey on the team, so it comes off as kinda lame

>>77872510
also is Ororo going crazy or is someone manipulating her?
>>
>>77873214
You know, I wouldn't put this past Bendis fucking up a distinct plot point in his OML Secret Wars book, like, the point was that Logan visits few realms and always ends up getting the resident X-men killed via mind control again or just by meddling in their business. Then this would actually make sense. Now it's just completely weird thing to just establish as a character point from nowhere.
>>
>>77872459
>They went to space or some other nonsense
Looks like Marvel is pissed that Rich Johnston told everyone what Rick Remender was originally gonna do
>>
>>77873686
I didn't mean only x-fags. I meant the whole cbr community. X-fags have an excuse - they are in denial, but what's the excuse for Spider-fags, or marvelfags?
>>
>>77873546
Many people from X-board were banned because of Cyclops, desu.
Eh, only threads worth your time are appreciation threads because posters will put up art and shit. And drama, if you don't post.
But yeah, overall, X-board is shittiest place.
>>
>>77873697
>also is Ororo going crazy or is someone manipulating her?

I hope not, then where would the fun be in shitting on her for dragging mutantkind to go live in limbo with barely functioning security members and letting the primary ward against incursion from the demons go on field missions?
>>
>>77873686

at least we still had X-Men books in 2012, 2015 was 9 months of nothing for a crossover that had 0 build up in any X-Men book that's damn near destroyed the franchise going forward.

if you dont mind the whole starting setting marvel wanted/gave, the story is mediocre to ok.
I think ramos art makes it a rather good book.
But i always liked his quirky, emotional art.
I have to agree that sometimes a rather calm moment looks too active. Like some cartoon or anime where the charas cry loud out of scene.

Only been into comics for about a year now, but I've covered a good amount of ground. Started with X-Men and it hurts comparing Morrison and Whedon era to what we have now.

I need to revive my love for mutants but I need something to read. Pic-related is what I already have covered.

Not interested in PAD's X-Factor or Claremont era stuff though. (At least not now).
>>
At least lemire is giving more moments to shine to some x-kids.

Anole and glob master race

Just imagine, this one limbo demon tore that arm off and ate it and it was the most delicious fucking thing ever, everything he ate after was disgusting and couldn't compare, he becomes obsessed with finding something that tastes that good for a literal eternity in limbo but he can't.

And then he sees Anole again.

>>
>Your home base is subjected to demonic invasion every time one person gets knocked out

Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
>>
>>77872440
My theory is that Old Logan is suffering for short term memory loss, if you suffered through the OML tie in to SW then you, like many others, will have noticed that Logan couldn't remember jack fucking shit from issue to issue. This could be dismissed as Bendis being a hack, but I can't see another writer doing the same exact thing unless it's to serve an actual purpose. I think Logan is suffering from memory loss and it's gradually getting worse.
>>
>>77876358
Storm is a very bad leader who makes poor decisions for the X-Men, remember in Claremont's run, when she had the whole team loose their memories and spread all throughout the world? Storm is the worst X-Leader.
>>
>>77876358
Storm.
>>
>>77876185
the Austen-Asamiya team had it's share of A listers

Wolverine had just begun doing double duty on both X-books, Nightcrawler was there awaiting character assassination of highest order, Iceman's in it and so in Angel

also had fan favorites like Juggernaut and Northstar

and another note about 417 and 418 while the artist Kia Asamiya was a rockstar in the early 2000's because his art was all over anime t-shirts Dominate Species featured Maximus Lobo the absolute worst X-Men villain ever.

This isn't a joke. Before I left that hellhole, I'm pretty sure I got at least to Stormfags banned by baiting them into shittalking Cyke. And since CBR has ridiculous rules, I never saw them again. >Alas, the headcannon of 70% of the people there was too much.

>>
>>77876979
Yes, binge drinking like that leads to memory loss. But in reality Ramos just fucked up there is all. I have to check it, but he might have had one shot for each X-Men that he killed, that would be a cool little twist.
>>
>>77877123
Anything pro-Cyke is not real. "LALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU, Scott is MAN OF MURDER"
Storm is a reality warping blood bender.
Any claim you try to back up (with scans, mind you) is disregarded or fought back with canon older than the one you presented (so retconned canon).

Truly a hellhole.

I missed the first 2 so why is Jean not in All-New X-Men anymore with the rest of the past X-Men? Why did they say Cyclops got killed by Inhumans when we saw Doom kill him in Secret Wars? Because she wanted a normal life but then a boy said she was an icky mutant and an Inhuman she saved from a mob said she was an icky mutant so now she's got to fix everything so nobody hates her.

Is Extraordinary considered the 'core' X-book at the moment?

I'm fairly certain he had a device whose sole purpose was to release the mists. He built it with his brother or some shit in a dimension where Black Bolt could speak.

Right after Schism when Aaron and Gillen were on the books. I at least liked the status quo under Bendis (there was a lot of Scott-wank), but this is just heartbreakingly awful. The first 3 issues of this book have been borderline unreadable.

Wow, this just made me realize just how much I miss that version of Cyke. I don't think we've gotten anything like master tactician Scott for maybe over 3 years now. "YOU BORE ME" is all I remember when thinking back on Bendis' run. And also those edits of Cyclops blowing up a truck and calling magneto a useless piece of shit.

Goddamn, all I can remember from Bendis run is the resulting memes...

Remember when Jean was dead and never in the comics in the early 2000s? Man I miss those times, now Marvel is trying to push her to fucking hard.

I think a difference is, Extraordinary is bad at the premise level. Like even they were nailing other aspects, the entire setting is just shit that I don't want. Except maybe the idea of Magik setting up a mutant sanctuary in Limbo? That's about the lone thing I like a better than the mutants moving to space idea that was being thrown around.

It's like a crappy crossover event, except it's meant to be the status quo of an ongoing.

>A charismatic X-man has decided to create a "mutant sanctuary", separate from mankind, to help as many remaining mutants as possible
Storm is pretty far from charismatic at this point, especially with Magik doing the recruiting, and just because she put the school in Limbo instead of off the coast of San Fransisco or in space, nobody is calling her a mad mutant terrorist.

The most I hope from this run is that Ororo comes to appreciate what Scott had to put up with in Utopia.

I wonder how much of that was an actual push and how much was just writers wanting to do stuff with the character again. She's definetly the sort of character I can see Kyle/Yost wanting to use and Zeb Wells was probably waifuing her.
Anyway, she's sort of stuck in the major league now, but she has been shit since Bendis. Now Lemire made it even worse if you can believe that, so what fucking ever.

Man, I want all the writers back that actually gave a shit about X-Men and their characters. There were tons of them in the 2000s. How did it all go so fucking wrong.
>>
>>77897631
While I fucking loved Illyana under Zeb, and I haven't read any of Bendis'....work (?) with the character, I don't really mind what Lemire has done with her thus far. Ramos refusing to draw her bangs triggers me, but I can get over it.
>>
>>77879571
I blame Bendis for this.

We all know that Kang/Immortus/Rama Tut/Belasco/Dire Wraiths/Space Phantoms control limbo.

Though the correct answer is, since limbo is not ruled by time and space, nobody actually truly controls limbo. Hence you have a dead, alive and old Storm standing in the same location.

Its your regular Schrödinger's cat.

It was shit, she just turned good because Bendis didn't give a fuck. It's like when she just went off panel to study under Dr Strange into the past, lazy as fuck way to change the character without doing any real work.
>>
>wells Magik

Perfect.

>gillen magik

Ignored what happened at the end of her time in New Mutants to have her be a dick to her brother

>bendis magik

While closer to how Wells left her, Bendis' complete inability to write characters with different voices and his general laziness about character history means it was shit

>lemire magik

Only 3 issues in and she didn't even appear in this one so too early to judge, though I have a feeling that he's going to use Bendis as his reference and make plenty of his own mistakes. The mistakes in the flashback in issue 1 are concerning enough.

>>77897002

No one else seems to care to comment on it but that Indian kid seems like she'll be important given her apparent ability to control demons. I wonder if Lemire plans to have her be Illyana's underage sidekick. That would be a bad sign for Pixie's involvement in anything Lemire writes

The child will belong to the Inhumans. It will be Hope Summers 2.0, but instead of the Phoenix it gets some other supreme space magic force, and in the end the Inhumans take it to kun lao to train it and get inspirational words from Kamala. It'll side with the Inhumans, turn itself from mutant to Inhuman as the next stage of evolution, and than turn all muties into Inhumans as its final act as the next Messiah. Also Kitty Pryde will be the best mother in comics, need to make sure that gets added in every issue.
