Actually the new show will almost certainly be seen as worse than the original show because the nostalgia which the original show received far inflated people's opinions of it more than it actually deserved. For the new show to live up to people's opinions of the original show they would have to change many things and then people would complain that it is "too different." They can't win.

as far as I know, Genndy isn't that kind of person, and it should be pretty clear he's been actively trying to finish Samurai Jack's story since it got canned. I'm not gonna say with one hundred percent certainty it won't turn out shit, but it doesn't hurt to be a little optimistic about it instead of making assumptions at this point
