No Gotham Academy thread, gotta change that... presenting today's #12, aka
Kyle holds hands with Colton
Oh, the shit Katherine puts up with
Is it just me or is Colton awfully calm considering his car is in a chasm
he doesn't mind because Kyle is back though
And now for the real reason we come to these threads.
>read the spoiler before the issue
W E W
Also it's the last Kerschl issue apparently: https://twitter.com/karlkerschl/status/672100645638414336
I was hoping that he was just taking a break and might have been back after the yearbook arc (assuming it lasts that long).
It's... it's called sarcasm. The scornful greentext indicated that.
What happened to Heathcliff and Not-Heathcliff?
Reminder that best girl is actually Pomeline
Yeah you might be right, but I guess we'll see how it goes. It tends to do well in trade/digital apparently but those can only support a book so long that doesn't have the physical sales.
>in b4 relaunched as Metropolis Academy
Remember that time you said Gay Colton was a stretch and unlikely?
>not noticing he gladly sacrificed his beloved Wayfarers in the process of saving Kyle >>77869893
...But how did Colton fall faster than Kyle and catch up to him? How do characters keep doing that in cliff-dropping scenes.
Also this is like the reverse of the only Kyle Colton fanart in existence.
Okay but how did Strange fucking TELEPORT.
boku no desustorage
>Gotham Academy 011 (2015) (Digital-Empire).cbr
don't say that anon. i know it wasn't gonna last forever but i'm not ready to say goodbye ;_;
>yfw RH/A continues to live as a continuation of RHATO despite poor sales, but good books like GA die despite pulling similar numbers
Too bad, Olive's riding the diseased bat-cock carousel now.
Kyle is so blue balled Colton just has to count the days until he's desperate enough to plow some boipussy for release.
I still think they could boost sales temporarily by having Tim, Damian, Carrie, Harper, Steph, and/or Cass randomly join the cast and attend GA. There would probably be some mandate that at least one of them has to appear each issue or something. The way to work around it would just be that they would all be too busy crimefighting to actually join in, but they would need to make sufficient appearances to convince their fans to support the book. Eventually, they could just relaunch it as a Batfamily book set in GA, with the original cast as supporting characters.
I know that sounds awful, but considering where DC is right now, they may feel they need to do whatever they can to boost sales. They know how much GA is loved, so they would obviously try to keep the book, while finding a way to increase sales. I don't really know if I would prefer for them to go in a similar direction to what I just said, or just straight up end the book, though.
Hopefully, we just get a simple a relaunch of some sort, though.
Calamity, the crimefighting arsonist! Olive fights crime, but her friend Maps solves mysteries! But what happens when Gotham Academy's own "Dynamic Duo" comes across ________?
Would probably have to be Damian. The Tim issue didn't work that well and the others wouldn't be a big enough draw.
But if they made it a full Batfamily book I wouldn't read it anyway.
>Oh, the shit Katherine puts up with
Nah, I'm sure she's fine with it. She wanted to be in the play, remember? This is the improv role of a lifetime.
It's cool. She's cool. It's fine. It's fine it's fine it's fine.
Ahhh CQC Bro, I've saved this one just for you. ;)
Not-Heathcliff was probably Heathcliff's friend, not hers. As we can see here, Heathcliff presumably trusts him well enough to bring him in on a scheme to trick Pomeline (albeit for altruistic reasons).
For the supposed conclusion of this arc, we didn't get a lot of answers, did we? I'm still wondering what the hell Arkham Manor (the comic) has to do with this and why everyone thinks Sybil is dead. And Bruce was at her funeral, but the last issue mentions We Are Robin, so this is post-Endgame?
And Hugo Strange has been at the academy since at least the night of Sybil's funeral but in Endgame Bruce says Strange hasn't been in Gotham for years? NIGGA WHY
I think this entire arc was meant to be pre-Endgame but they changed their minds. And in #8 Bruce does not have beard so that is straight-up pre-Endgame. Bruce clearly had some ulterior motives and connection to Olive and I hope we learn about it at some point in the future.
Endgame happened before issue 8, right.
So he must have just swooped in, after the start of the school year, the same way Milo just swooped out.
What's far more puzzling is that Arkham Manor, in which Sibyl escapes, takes place in the middle of a snowstorm.
While Gotham Academy is locked into perma-autumn time stasis.
But the Gotham Academy: Endgame tie-in can't happen between issues 7 and 8, because from just before issue 7 onward Olive was busy with dead mom things.
It has to be between 6 and 7. And issue 6 is when Damian joins the academy.
Besides the publishing dates, there's nothing that suggests Endgame happens before #8, because like I said, that is surely meant to be a beardless Bruce standing at Sybil's funeral next to MacPherson.
Milo vanishes from the series because he was outed as a criminal in Batman Eternal; Eternal even references his teaching at Gotham Academy.
How is "Katherine" Karlo doing the disguise trick as a Japanese schoolgirl.
Apparently he's not just Eric-in-a-wig.
Is he using the face-changing compound 'Renuyu'? This series has been chockful of DCAU references, not least Katherine being supposedly an Annie.
>Oh...I thought you knew.
Then what the blazes was Pom trying to tell Olive about in issue 9?
Is nobody mentioning it because it's just too obvious to comment on?
Olive just killed a man
(well not really because COMICS), hurled him through an upper storey window, and feels really good about it.
>...I feel whole.
And now dogs turn hostile at the smell of her cursed bloodline.
I think they probably just forgot to draw the beard. He's been doing charity work and shit without his Bat-memory. Checking up on a scholarship kid who just lost her mom fits with the rest of that.
This the last issue?
What is Robin war? Should i read it?
This is the last issue of this arc. The Robin War tie-in is next issue but you probably won't have to read the whole event if you don't want. The first Robin War issue was posted here if you're interested >>77866667. I didn't dislike it but it was just kind of alright. Hoping the Dick focused stuff has it pick up a little.
After the Robin War tie-in for GA next week it's starting a new yearbook arc in January.
