it keeps getting better and weird
so thats all
i actually liked it
The thing that drives me up a wall about this is that this is a good comic. It is! Cool concepts, visually interesting, some compelling moments, plot ain't bad and the character interactions are solid...
But Aaron has the single worst grasp on Strange's voice that I've ever seen. Like, how do you fuck up his voice THIS BAD? I want to like this book but reading Strange's dialogue is driving me crazy with how off it is.
Is it a different artist next issue, or is just the cover different?
Yeah, I'm really liking this book but that remains my biggest gripe (since I'm slowly coming around on Morr the Mage Butcher). To be fair the argument could be made that Strange didn't really have much of a voice beforehand; he was just sort of aloof. The hook of his stories has NEVER been his personality. Any time he acts halfway charismatic it feels out of place, like in The Doctor is Out. Maybe Aaron's trying to "fix" that...?
>The hook of his stories has NEVER been his personality
>Entire fucking point of Lee and Ditko run is him finishing his own inner healing
>There are several moments of deep kindness between him and Ancient One
>All the emotional stuff in Englehart and Stern's runs
What the fuck are you talking about?
Thank god, for a moment I thought it was some sort of drink. I'm afraid Aaron will at some point forget Strange is canonical alcoholic.
Or did he already? I haven't tried previous two issues.
Try "literally every Strange comic", son.
He's bland as can be for a cape.
