Second Chance and Judgement Day, though the latter was a TNBA episode.

Also, not really a Two-Face episode, but he had a good role in Almost Got'Im.

Yeah I haven't played any of the Arkham games but they're something I most definitely want to do.

I heard Clayface has a great role.,

Pretty much. Two-Face works best as a wildcard rather than another mob boss with a gimmick.

Also, not necessarily my favorite and a bad version of Harvey Dent, but I was genuinely curious at what Beware was gonna go with Two-Face before Stu Snyder killed it.

No worries. It's really one of my favorite stories. I prefer the more raw work-in-progress shots here over the finished version in Batman Black and White.

You could teach a master class on comics using just this story. It's amazingly structured and paced, reminiscent of the older serials. Eight panel format for each page and each panel is perfect in conveying what it wants to. Zero extraneous dialogue and narration, no fat whatsoever.

It's pretty easy to imagine most anyone else simply decompressing this to a standard 21 page format and ruining it with extra exposition, splash pages, etc.

While I think TAS had the overall best interpretation of Harvey Dent, I still enjoy the original version that had him commit indiscriminate acts of charity just as often as he committed crime. I'm pretty disappointed that of all things never stuck with his M.O.

Also; Purple/Orange suit >>> Black/White suit > Other colored variants >>> Normal Suit/Burned
>>
>>77859635
They're right. Two-Face works best as a psychology story rather than a straight mob boss or direct villain. Especially since Bruce sees Harvey as sort of his greatest failure as Batman. That sort of story is really hard to do in a longer format storyline common in comics today, which is why you see Harvey sparingly or primarily in cameos.

For instance, I like his really brief section in Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. There, the psychologists are trying to wean him off the simple black/white dual choices of his coin and had him progress to a six-sided die, then a tarot and hopefully the I-Ching in order to have him redevelop a fully functional decision making process. Unfortunately, it only ends in fucking up his mind even more.

Snyder is supposedly keen to do a Two-Face story, so we should see something substantial with Harvey in print soon.

BTAS, because there his insanity was almost believable in how unhealthy and potentially debilitating it was. Almost everywhere else, he's just a disfigured gangster with a coin fetish.

Every time I think of Two-Face, I end up remembering this scene:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqGup4UGS_A

I also like his depiction in the Arkham Asylum GN.

And although he's pretty mediocre in the rocksteady games, he's all right during these scenes:

That's a good one. I also love Judgement Day - Two-Face is so broken, so twisted, so guilt-ridden that his feelings manifest as a THIRD persona that tries to execute himself.

Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth had a great Two-Face, the staff moved him away from the coin onto dice then to tarot cards, great art. The story was boring except for the Amadeus Arkham side of things. BTAS has a good Two-Face as well as the Arkham games.

Also, I liked the teaser in Brave and the Bold.

Last time I was at the LCS, I saw that DC put out one of those anthology stories featuring notable stories about a villain for Two-Face. I may pick it up.

I've probably read a lot of what's in there (I would guess it would have "Two of a Kind," "Eye of the Beholder," his Golden Age appearances, the recent Tomasi stuff, etc). Especially because there was a long period when DC just didn't use Two-Face. But there should be some stuff in there I missed.

Came here to post this. It's more of a Harvey Dent story than a Two-Face story, but damn, it's great.

Hello

Coinface is probably the worst major Batman villain. Like every DC character has a long history of being a really good concept that's horribly misused in every way possible constantly, but Dent has it pretty bad.

I think you could make him work if you don't make him a crazy guy who flips a coin because he's crazy.

Instead maybe do a close ally of Batman who tricks him and turns against him, using his powers as DA to build a powerful legitimized and organized criminal empire right under his nose.

AFAIK he's only ever a crazy guy who flips a coin because he's crazy though. The only things that vary are his levels of sympathetic and goofiness.

And the Joker's just a crazy guy obsessed with clowns because he's crazy. He doesn't even have a backstory or reason for his insanity and explicitly refuses to give one. Most of Batman's rogues gallery are insane, because lots of portrayals of Batman make him anywhere from mildly insane to barely better than the criminals he fights, having insane villains is a good way to explore that. Also the psychological drama it causes can make for great stories like The Killing Joke or Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth..

Really, what Two Face could have represented was done only in the animated series.
The duality of batman and brucewayne and the horrible schism that occured in his past to create that.
To be honest, that is the only ONLY time that is explored because in the early Timmiverse batman was still bruce wayne, a man trying to do some good. When he went to fox all of that dissapeared and it became a shitty creepy version of the dc universe version, and in DC universe there is no duality.
Bruce Wayne died with his parents. The only thing that left that alleyway was Batman.

Batman, and his villians, as a concept are dead.

How? He gave a pretty good performance and the main beats of the character were met. Stretching him out for another film wouldn't have worked.
