What was his fucking problem?
I understand wanting Quinn to realize her own potential, but he was a massive asshole about it
>>77858261
Is that you, Jared? Are you trying to rape Quinn?
>>77858261
She wasn't Jewish enough for him.
>>77858261
Maybe the Morgendorffers were cheaping out and not paying him enough to be nice.
>>77858261
Actually, I thought he was pretty tactful about it while still being honest.
He dealt with spoiled little shitheads every day with his tutoring job and knew point blank that people like Quinn needed tough love.
IIRC he actually had an easy time tutoring Staci, until she had her panic attack over how the others did not tell her that they were having problems with the guy (due to their attitudes) which caused him to bail on Staci.

I never understood why Stacey was in the Fashion Club, she was clearly miserable. While it's arguably realistic that teens seek popularity, she didn't seem to care what Sandi thought of her when she was Upchuck's magic assistant
>>77859390
I feel like Stacy was basically Quinn with less self-esteem. For the most part, she doesn't challenge Sandi unless Quinn has already challenged Sandi.
I actually feel like if Stacy had plenty of self esteem, she'd probably be more like Jodie.
>>77859390
Teenage girls do weird irrational and self-destructive shit like that all the time
>>77859390
I think the point of Stacy not caring about being Upchuck's assistance was to show her growth as a character and, along with Quinn's development in the last season, foreshadow the demise of the Fashion Club in the movie.
>>77858261
you keep saying that, but it's not true. first he gave her the wakeup call she needed, and when it had the desired result, he gave her some kudos and more politely declined her second proposition
>>77859390
what else is she gonna do? she's the kind of person who will straight up kill themselves without some kind of validation.
Just fucking IMAGINE what her parents are like. I'm almost scared to guess.
>>77860851
Well that and it gave her an acceptable way to pull one over on Sandi.. to test the waters, while still giving Sandi a chance to actually be nice
>>77861007
Kinda like my aunt and uncle. Constantly berating and belittling my cousins. One turned to alcohol to cope the other turned to drugs and prostitution.
>>77859390
Stacey's probably been "friends" with Sandi since they were in kindergarten or something along those lines,
Being in misery is her default state at this point.
>>77861592
though that makes you wonder why she isnt more competent in her toadying if she's had a decade of practice
>>77861592
I never got that impression. To be honest, Stacy seems more like the new girl in the fashion club, even though it's stated a few times that Quinn is the newest member. I do think that Sandi is probably responsible for a fair share of Stacy's self-esteem problems though.
>>77861007
the real scary thing? Consider the character with the concept of a Happiness Set Point. She will basically stay about that happy fior most of her life.
>>77862919
I still feel like Stacy would end up in porno movies.
>>77861007
I bet they're model parents, super loving and supportive
>>77866553
I dunno, I'm guessing a single parent with low self esteem. My Younger sisters both have low self esteem, they lived with my mom who has low self esteem.

Yeah, it's not exactlyour brightest hour
