I think I actually made a mistake. The reboot is episode 10, the episode tonight is episode 9. It's been off for like 2 weeks in a row so I got confused.

this one wasn't bad though. i wont spoil for those watching it on time, but the whole Piggy Water thread was amusing.

Same. The show could be fantastic, but right now it's really "meh". Not a whole lot going for it. I think it does well converting some of the Muppets to a modern environment, but misses the whole charm of the Muppets. I think someone mentioned it should be more like 30 Rock, and I kind of agree on that point. The show really is just so fucking safe for a bunch of talking puppets running a night-time talk show. There's so little energy to it.

it's almost as if the showrunners were certain they would get 8 seasons so they wanted someplace to take it, yknow? because if you go full crazy right off the bat you can't escalate. but that's a terrible way to think for a goddamn muppet show. or any franchise this old.

The reboot can't come soon enough, this show is so far removed from The Muppet spirit it's ridiculous.

It's safe, it's bland, it's literally 30 Rock/Parks & Rec with the Muppet characters transplanted onto its beaten to death format.

The Muppets are the only ones providing some colour to this lacklustre show, nothing would change otherwise if it had a human cast.

A British TV ad does a better job of capturing the original Muppet's silliness than the entirety of the current "The Muppets" season.

It's not about the show and that's where the biggest weakness is. The show is just an excuse to not have to write reasons for cameos.

I wish the show was a bit more of the "sweet muppets" parts like this Kermit/Gonzo thing, and last ep's Rainbow Connection song.

I think there's a way to do contemporary muppets and I felt a bit of it in The Muppets movie.

Man they should have hired jason segel to do the show.

You'd think with all these breaks that the reboot would come sooner. But apparently there will be a hiatus too.

They should just go back to their Muppet Show roots, update it just enough to modernize it perhaps tack on the 30 Rock format for the backstage element but keep it a silly sketch show at its core.

Don't clutter the show with more than one guest.

Everyone and their moms know and love the Muppet Show's lyrics by heart too.

Not every show can stick a brand new series in-between the Fall and Spring seasons of a show. Agents of SHIELD has Agent Carter. Flash is getting Legends of Tomorrow. And there's a strong rumor that ABC will have a summer Marvel show covering between Spring and Fall seasons of AoS soon enough.

I find the whole thing with Gonzo becoming too old to do stunts kind of weird considering he was still doing crazy shit in Muppets Most Wanted which was just last year.

But goddamn. That moment where he finally gets over his fear and does the damn stunt put a smile on my face.

Well, wanna know a secret? He only recently started getting shot out of cannons. He used to catch cannonballs. He also used to ballance on hammocks while holding a piano over his head and doing the 7 times multiplications were probably his most dangerous stunts.

Then he really mellowed out and started slowly coming back to being a daredevil.

He blew up the plumbing company he ran in 2011, which revealed in the script, could have saved the theater.
