I'm from the future.

>DEADPOOL receives mixed reviews with 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, but is a box office success with $482 million worldwide. Critics are divided between those who view it as hilarious and irreverent and those who view it as tryhard and juvenile. Fox greenlights a sequel, DEADPOOL & CABLE, for 2017.

>BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE receives positive reviews, with 89% on RT, and is a smash box office success with %1.4 billion worldwide. The action, script, cast and visuals are praised, with Gal Gadot being the breakout star, while Jesse Eisemberg is viewed as somewhat disappointing. Criticism is also made to the ongoing destruction and Cavill's tortured interpretation of Superman.

>CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is likewise praised, with 91% on RT and $1.3 billion box office. The cast, story, visuals and direction are praised, but criticisms are made to some superfluous characters and, believe it or not, the movie being "too dark".

>In a unexpected turnaround, BvS is a more straightforward blockbuster while CW has a more complex and mature script. Shitposters on both sides then switch instances, with DC's praising entertainment value in their movies above all while Marvel's defend the important of thematic ressonance and pathos.

>X-MEN: APOCALYPSE wins the critics bowl with 93% on RT and being the first X-Men movie to crack $1 billion. Cast, script, visuals, direction, score are all praised, and very little of the criticism is geared towards superficial things like the excessive destruction in the final battle (but without mass casualties) and characters being too different from their comics counterparts. Fox greenlits a new sequel, X-MEN: GENESIS, for 2018. Bryan Singer confirmed to return along with McAvoy and Fassbender.
>>
>SUICIDE SQUAD receives mixed to positive reviews, with 66% on RT and $872 million worldwide. Leto, Robbie, Smith, Courtney and Davis are praised, while other cast members fail to impress. Critics rave about the Harley Quinn subplot and origin story, which is generally agreed to be more interesting than the main plot. Inconsistent tone and uneven pacing are also criticized, but DC still announces a sequel in their revised DC schedule, slated for 2018.

>GAMBIT is delayed to 2017.

>DOCTOR STRANGE receives mixed to positive reviews, with 72% on RT and $748 million worldwide. It is once again a darker, more serious movies, while SUICIDE SQUAD is more "fun" spectacle, but DOCTOR STRANGE doesn't provide much subtext. Scott Derrickson's direction is said to be without much creativity, but he is praised for his mind-warping alternate dimensions scenes. Cumberbatch is also praised. Dormammu and Baron Mordo are also spared from death, just like Zemo in CW. DOCTOR STRANGE is also unexpectedly pivotal in setting up INFINITY WAR and Doctor Strange's prominent role in it, but does it more seamlessly than previous MCU installments.

MoS fag here:

realistically
>Civil War gets a 91 on Rotten Tomatoes, and breaks a billi world wide with like 600mil domestic. It has a beautiful story in regards to the Cap story, as his franchise is the only one that had an actual overarching plot with big pay offs and a steady increase in quality/spectacle since First Avenger.
>BvS gets a 60-70 on Rotten Tomatoes, but is flat out the best capeflick ever made, and gets a respectable 700mil-1.3bill. Critics lampoon it, and its the most discussion film since MoS for years to come.
>Xmen Apocalypse is as good as Future's Past, with 600-850million total gross. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 75.
>Deadpool - RT: 68, 400mill gross. Is as good as DoFP. Critics shit on it.

conclusion:
>Civil War will be fantastic, and make big bucks, but BvS will have a whole atmosphere and visual component with more mature content and iconography. BvS will be slightly better, Civil War will just barely break the MCU formula.

Marvel won't ever go "dark" unless Feige departs or they get consecutive flops while WB's films succeeds. I would have liked more variety though, with Thor being their premiere serious film.

BvS will fare better than MoS, surprising people when the story ends up a more traditional super hero story than the more experimental style that MoS was. It'll end up being less divisive but still not reaching Nolan TDK level. An ultimate 7/10 movie like Marvel's efforts, but /co/ will love it for it's nods to various comics. Will pull over a billion.

Civil War will be shit on by /co/ for taking big liberties with characters like Zemo & BP. Wakanda will fail to impress and the film will show it's jokey nature halfway through. Ultimately it will suffer from the same feeling AoU had where it was a stepping stone to infinity war. People will endlessly compare it to TWS and say it falls short, blaming the Russo's when it's Marvel that determines the major plot beats. Fox news will also run a smear campaign against the name Black Panther. Also over a billion but not avengers numbers.

Deadpool won't crack $300 million because of R rating. Will cause internet backlash because of immature and percieved homophobic (Cock gobbler) and other offensive style comedy.

Squad/Strange are the biggest wildcards. People will be surprised at the twisted humor in squad but will enjoy it, will become a cult classic even though it receives mixed critic reviews. /co/ will shit on Cumberpatch and the more scientific take on Dr. Strange combined with jokes. Both will do well for new IP's, >500mil.

When people talk about Marvel, they're talking about the movies. I don't know why AoS and Netflix shows pop up in discussions, they're only a small fraction of what people view marvel as. They're distinct entities linked by only the most tenuous connections. I'll be surprised if we ever see any of the characters from TV show up in the movies.

I don't see the winter solder as dark either, but it's certainly less quippy than the other movies. The protagonists came out pretty good, no one significant died, Hydra was unmasked and defeated and Cap discovered his best friend was still alive. I'm not trying make a connection between tone and quality of a movie, just saying Marvel has no plans on taking some dark turn in their movies.

Movies are officially declared illegal on Jan 1st, 2016, in preperation for Donald Trump's new "TrumpVision", a mandatory weekly sitting to view a live broadcast affirmation to the Trump.

After the walls of America are destroyed by the Free Islamic forces and the Russian Coalition in 2043, these movies turn up in a basement somewhere in New Jersey, being cradled by Kevin Smith's skeleton.

They're okay, but nothing to rave about.
