Yes, we're at thread four for a 50sec teaser.
Looking good and legit question which fast food service do you hope they make a deal with? I loved the DOFP quicksilver burger
imagine a promotional Burger that has some sort of trinity beef chicken and sausage
One side of me thinks that it's too soon and that this new Universe hasn't earned the "Superman goes rogue" story yet.
But the other side of me thinks that we've had lots of Superman movies and adaptation already and it isn't that big of a deal that they're getting right to it.
I'm pretty excited, regardless.
>Bruce's neck all exposed
S-should I be worried?
It's just a nightmare Batman is having. I guess its to show how useless Batman feels, and if its a nightmare where Superman has taken control of the world, it will help the audience understand why they would fight.
>I have to fight you because I had a dream that you would be a huge asshole some day!
Jeez, that's like those girls that break up with their boyfriends because they dreamed he was cheating on them.
Nothing, literally nothing anyone has said indicates a rogue Superman. In fact, everything has indicated the opposite: that people, including Bruce, blame Superman for what happened in Metropolis and he just wants to do good.
>Watch your office building destroyed and everyone in it die
>See first hand the immense destructive potential of this alien
>See people across the world worshiping him as a god
I think there's more than just the dream to go off of here, anon.
I bet the knightmare scene happens early on and then Bruce is convinced his worst fears are coming true because of something Luthor did to tarnish Superman's rep. Then the Armor Batman/Superman fight happens. I think the Batmobile getting torn apart has to be before that fight.
The point is Batman doesn't know if he can be trusted. It's not that hard of a concept to understand. Yes, it's great he has these abilities that can save a lot of people, but it's also dangerous to trust someone with this much power. They've seen what people of the same race can do (Zod and the subcommanders), what's stopping this guy from realizing no one can control him? That's obviously Batman's view.
Superman clearly wants to do good, but is divided on whether he should or not. He wants to help, but probably does not want to be worshiped.
Are you stupid? Batman sees what Superman is capable of and thinks he's dangerous as fuck, which is a completely rational way to think of it. Couple that with Bruce's extreme distrust of anybody and you have someone who is very unlikely to see Clark as anything but a ticking time bomb unless he proves just how good he actually is. Which will be the whole point of the movie, or at least the first half.
>yfw the teen X-Men blow the Avengers and the Justice League the fuck out in the end
>The only way Superman could feel the basic human emotion of anger against someone who he'll have a feature length rivalry/battle with, is if it's actually not Superman, or if Batman isn't Batman and did something he'd never do endangering innocent bystanders
So what you're saying, is that's going to be Man of Steel all over again, and will piss everyone off?
Does it sting when you realize how right he is?
Cool teaser but I just can't take Henry Cavill's serious look seriously. He simply doesn't look convincing.
Mfw that will most likely happen.
Got a link or a screencap? I don't follow him, nor do I plan to.
Though from my own Twitter feed, there were quite a few opinions about the movie, ranging from NOT MUH SUPERMAN to "You know, Superman as a symbol of an oppressive regime might make for gripping cinema."
>No. THE DARK KNIGHT is grim. And brilliant.
>SUPERMAN movies should be fun & full of hope.
I just got this email about the trailer. I don't even remember signing up for anything.
Plot twist: this is Superman's nightmare, not Batman's.
Superman's fear is giving into his frustration and not showing restraint with his powers when it comes to his enemies.
>We will never get a teaser where Batman and Superman team up with the Flaming C.
It matters though man, if he had white lenses it wouldn't matter but he doesn't.
and yeah making him look like a raccoon make him look more helpless in front of Superman it works.
You realize all trailers and tv spots get played on literally every channel right? It's all about which company is willing to pay the most money. Looks like Disney are the cuks here.
Civil War has the potential to be a very good, maybe even the best Marvel Movie yet.
BvS has the potential to redefine the superhero genre.
Will it? Probably not. But just that chance is what makes people hype.
Paranoia isn't always irrational. We have the capacity to feel it for a reason. Dark Knight Returns Bruce was mentally unstable either way though. This is a man that was talking to a giant bat demon in his basement
>tfw all my normie friends are Marveldrones
>can't even talk about my DCfaggotry on social media because some smartass will always try to point out how Marvel is better
>Not sperging out over a small aesthetic plot error and not letting it impede my enjoyment makes me an idiot
I don't even have anything to say. I just wanted to type in the implication so you can realize what you're actually arguing.
>bar Cap 2
You already said it.
And why would you choose to dwell on that part of my comment? I didn't imply it would be good. Or are you illiterate and don't know what the word "potential" means?
it's a glaring error and your filename is inaccurate, here's one that better reflects it.
you should really start working on your attention to detail
They wouldn't be dead. There's still tons of merchandising, and even without that, comics are still profitable enough to continue to print. They just wouldn't be very important.Besides, all the money goes to the parent companies.
It's not inaccurate you chucklefuck. It's a variant of this file, commonly named laughingwhores.jpg.
>it's a glaring error
Is it? Do you think anyone but you in the theater you see this movie in will care for even a second?
every comedian will have a field day with Batman's perfect face under the cowl, your meme remains pathetic.
>every comedian will have a field day with Batman's perfect face under the cowl
Just so you don't forget.
>I would like to know what happened to his greasepaint
WOW deja vu!.
Has been asked and answered, google
I can't stop watching it. That fucking scowl.
I feel so bad for you autismos that can't enjoy anything.
>So it's exactly like the comics
Completely wrong. All the comics /co/ likes are self-aware. Like ASS is universally praised because it's cognizant of what it is, a whimsical fairy tale.
And this kind of looks like TDKRBats to me.
(Well, I know BenBats was supposed to look like that anyway, but a little bit of Keaton enhances it)
>Batman barely acts like batman
>Superman doesn't act at all like superman
>people are hyped for this comic rape
>One is well written
I don't even know which one you are refering to.
>I have no good reason to believe it and don't even believe my trusted Butler
Other than the fact his fight with Zod led to Wayne enterprises collapsing and a few thousand deaths
But it is an Elseword you absolute idiot, do you think Dark Knight Return's Superman/Batman characterization is relevant to when discussing their main universe relationship? Protip: the answer is no you fucking idiot.
am i misremembering or did they make the black eye makeup under the batman mask canon in some of the movies, maybe Batman Returns
Either way, i can't unsee it and cutting so that he doesn't have the makeup anymore when he takes off the mask drives me fucking nuts
>the shitty characterization and out of touch tone of the previous movie is the entire source of the conflict arising in this movie
Some straight up oroboros shit right there.
>the fanboy is eating the shit coming right out of his own ass.
Except it does, sorry if you can't hold more than one iteration of a character in your head at once. You're the same kind of shitters that discuss MCU or Dini JL characters in mainstream continuity discussions, just pick up a comic book every once in a while, it's really not that hard.
>characters don't change in my single continuity
WOW, they're right. You are an idiot!
-- You do know that Bob Kane's Batman landed on peoples' necks before right?
-- Then that got changed later to the "no-kill" version.
-- Then changed again to a smiling, fund-rainsing attending version to align with the tv show (they even created Batgirl because of the tv show).
-- Then into the dark, shadow hiding knight that "works solo"
-- Then leads a team of Outsiders.
-- etc., etc.
So tell us, which of the above was an elseworld because it's "out of character" per your very limited perception.
>tfw you have a coolass black coworker who watches everything, dc or marvel.
>tfw you can talk about the cw shows, marvel movies, netflix shows, and bvs hype with someone, without it turning into shit every time
Why the fuck is Snyder so determined to make Superman look so sad and angry in all of the promotional material?
Cavill has the potential to be as charismatic and charming as Reeve, why waste him like this?
The trailer is just Ben Affleck looking pissed as hell and Henry Cavill looking concerned.
>Batman looking at his building
>"The fuck is that? Are those fucking LASERS? Well fucking great."
>Batman goes down to the Batcave to Robin memorial
>"Oh yeah, I just remembered-- Robin's dead! Goddamn Joker! GRR just fucking GRRR ARGHG. Sick of this shit, I'm gonna go pull a tire or something and be Batman."
>Superman saving people from flood
>"Why do all these people think I'm the messiah? I'm just trying to help.
>Superman at Congressional hearing.
>"Why do all these people think I'm dangerous? I'm just trying to help."
>"Why do people not like me or like me to creepy amounts? I'm concerned.
>CIA is actually Superman
>When Bane crashed the plane, CIA's latent Kryptonian capabilities got awakened and he achieved the power of flight, allowing him to survive the plane crash
>Now he has captured Batman to interrogate him on the whereabouts of Bane to get justice for his men
Holy shit nigger needs a wig
He's practically brainiac I can see his entire dome superbald
Why is he so bald it's like his hairline is doing the mighty ducks Flying V
Where's the snap? There was supposed to be a neck shattering snap.
>barely above 30m
that "barely above" alone is more than the 1,8 BvS did ,lol.
those alone are like 50 million.
add facebook, twiiter etc
I don't know why people hate this trailer, while it looks rather underwhelming, it has a lot of amazing implications.
This is practically a dream about a dystopia were Superman went full justice lord and Batman joined the resistance to take him down.
I'd love to see this in the movie if it is true.
Ignore the DCkeks, let them bathe in their dead movies
DC should just sell off all of their IPs aside from Batman it's the only one they can get right
Silly DCfag can't take it anymore how pathetic
Enjoy getting kucked by your shit company
Subjective, literally relies on 90s Tier Gimmick Variant and Constant Relaunches to sell. Couple that with raising the bar from 4.99 to 5.99 for special issues. Marvel is setting the industry for another crash. Most LCSs have already reported on Marvel NOW shit selling like shit than they expected. Also Star Wars
>Way Better TV
Daredevil was phenomenal, JJ was not as good, Agents of Shield improved from shit to shit with sprinkles, and no one actually watches Agent Tittymonster. In terms of animation, Teen Titans Go and DC Superhero Girls is more watchable than all of Loeb's Shows
Yeah you got me there, Superman and Batman are pretty much their best movies.
>What is DC Animation
DC can get things right, it's WB who can't.
Irrelevant, Wonder Woman is getting a movie and now it's Marvel who is now lacking a proper female led Movie.
Irrelevant, that cover has been forgotten by everybody and both characters featured are both literal whos. Besides, DC is the one with the book led by a homosexual and not marvel
Loki was shit tbqh senpai and looks like someone hasn't been reading New Fun Comics
This is fucking outdated
FFS DC You
uh what? they called him Superman in Man of Steel right?
She-Hulk's cancelled, and DC You
The problem here, is that anyone remotely interested in the DC Cinematic Universe, will only look up Batman Vs. Superman, while people looking forward to Civil War are split up over any number of topics, like overdeveloped fantheories/AoS/etc.
So while I don't pretend like pic related is an accurate and complete depiction of the public interest, I hope you see how polar this kind of graph can get, and how full of shit one has to be to use it as "proof" of anything.
Come on, let us all just be happy neighbours.
Well you might have been right in the past.
As you notice, this is just the past week. I could post a version (you can just look it up yourself here https://www.google.com/trends/explore though the difference in interest doesn't really change throughout) here the time range is massively bigger, and the Philippines's interest drops drastically.
Still, it looks like people there are now catching on with it, so good for you man!
It was a good thread util this /co/nsolewars fags show up
>DCasuals shitpost in Civil War thread
>Shitposters are banned and shitposts are deleted in a timely manner
>Marveldrones shitpost in BvS thread
>No action is taken
/co/ is truly Marveldrone country now
Oh, Warner does pay me
On an Asian cartoon site
With 1000 visitors
Mods, please ban these whiney marvel fags complaining on a dc thread because no one is hyped for shitshovel war
he will slowely turn into lex luthor or brainiac
The girls at work all are hyped about Civil War, the guys are discussing Bats vs Supes. Personally, I'm just happy to discuss comic book movies with my coworkers at all for a change.
Well his action figure wearing that outfit is literally called Knightmare Batman, which is a bit of a clue.
Some have speculated it's Bizarro created by Lex to make Supes look bad, but I think that'd be overdoing it- it'd just look weird having two Supermen fighting at one point.
Can anyone name a worse fanbase than the MCU's? Don't say Sony. Marveldrones literally believe that Disney should have a monopoly and that this would benefit the industry. Not even Narutards are vaguely this bad.
Twilight fans and Bronies generally keep to themselves, and possess a competent level of knowledge regarding their source material. The MCU fanbase is made up almost entirely of secondaries (who don't read comics), which is bad enough without even bothering to mention anything else.
Very little of what I brought up applies to DC fans (because very few fanbases are retarded enough to believe that a monopoly would be a good thing, including the beforementioned Naruto fanbase). I see far less console war shitposting from DC fans, as well, and most people who read DC also read Marvel, and other publishers.
This is what annoyed me the most about MoS. After seeing Man from UNCLE, Cavill can play charming pretty well, yet in MoS he feels dumb and clueless, instead of good-willed like Cap does, for example, and I know Cavill Can pull it off. It's right there for them to grab.
I really hope that both movies are good, since I like my variety, and I'd love for FOX to stop pussyfooting around soft-reboots and cast a good X-team and start fresh with a nice cohesive story without bullshit retcons.
Man of Steel was the guy stumbling around
Batman v Superman is basically just a psychological attack on him
You'll have to wait until Justice League when he and Batman become the face of the group for charismatic Cavill
I am so happy Snyder is resisting showing too much of the movie. Sticking with the "Knightmare" dream sequence stuff is fine. I love Batman's cowl. I also think the introduction of Terrio will not only make this movie great but also ensure that the Justice League movies will be good. That being said I'm more worried about Suicide Squad, David Ayer is a great director. I'm just not sure such an obscure team can carry a movie. In alot of ways SS is DCs GOTG if that makes sense.
Regardless, I'm not that into movies and have been much more invested in cape tv shows. Love the shit out of JJ, Supergirl and very pumped for the Arrow/Flash cross overs this week.
I love Bizarro but it's much more likely we are getting Lex bots, Lex power Armor or Doomsday. Zod's body could be use for technology like Metallo, power armor and I suppose Bizarro isn't really off the table.
Dream Superman is a meany. In real life he is all smiles unless Batman or Lex fucks with him.
Superman didn't become Superman. Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he's Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red "S", that's the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that's the costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us.
Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent. He's weak... he's unsure of himself... he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race
I know your pain. I have so many friends who just have zero interest in BvS, which is a fucking shame because it looks a million times more interesting than Marvel's cookie-cutter popcorn flicks, but whatever.
At least he's a retro-Marvelfag, probably from his childhood in the 90s where Spider-Man and X-Men were basically the face of Marvel. You can always tell the casual/normie Marvelfags because they can't stop gushing about Iron Man, and nobody gave a shit about Iron Man until 2008.
He just looks like Nic Cage's Superman.
The post didn't say it was likely. In fact, it said the opposite. But the upper limit of what it could do is higher than the upper limit of what Civil War can do.
I don't know, but I think it would be a nice touch. It would show that he's just a human who has to put a lot of effort and attention to detail into his theatrics. It would make him appear ridiculous because that's what it is.
>has premium network tv shows
>more accessible comic books
>better at selling to children and casuals
>better video games
>better network tv shows
>soon to have better movies
Because that is all the bulk of the marketing has conveyed. Have they started thinking the discussion of him leading humanity to the sun wasn't metaphorical, and was actually a reference to Superman committing a Sentry-style global genocide where he literally throws humanity into the sun? I wouldn't blame them if they did.
>But the upper limit of what it could do is higher than the upper limit of what Civil War can do.
This. Civil War is already limited by taking place in a pre-established universe where the tone and lack of focus in earlier installments is seriously undercutting the tension that should have been built. It's possible it could build a great standalone movie, but I really think it's unlikely.
Because he's comics accurate.
Depends on the director really.
And the atmosphere on set, I'd guess. Caville said that The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was the most fun he had on a movie set, so it probably impacted his work in a way. Same as Chris Evans having a blast doing movies about Cap.
He doesn't really need it at this point. He looks fine. If your focusing this much on a guy's hair.
>You might be a fag.
There is nothing wrong with it...I just think it's silly to assume that market share = artistic evaluation. Bruce Timm got me into DC comics, I discovered shit like Swampthing and Animal Man. Marvel is cool but mostly derivative and at this point only makes shit for babies. Which is fine...but I won't pretend that they have good comics or cartoons just because they pump out the most movies. I'm glad other people can see this too. Again, I read Marvel, DC, Image, Valiant, Darkhorse etc. It's just my observation of the big two lately.
Not him, but
>implying /m/ isn't a comfier board than /co/ has been for years
They hate everything there. Universally. It is like being on Apokolips where everyone has given themselves to Darkseid. Despitre that though, they don't take shit personally like /co/mrades do. There is just more autism, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.
>Man of Murder
>any of the animated films they've put out in the last 3 years
Apart from Flash and Arrow, everything they make is shit and has been shit for a long time.
Bruce Timm's cartoons and movies are all great. Nolan's first two Batmans were great. MOS was entertaining but I get if it's not your cup of tea. Flash, Arrow, iZombie, Constantine and Supergirl are cool. New 52 has alot more gold in it than some of /co/ is willing to admit. Mmm Parallax Hal and such
>Steven Universe and Korra fags are basically why /co/ is ruined.
I don't like either of those groups, but how have they ruined /co/ more than Homestuck, MLP, Frozen, etc. fags? /co/ has always attracted obnoxious female fanbases.
Right?? I remember really enjoying Demon Knights and Justice League Dark. Batman and Green Lantern books have been strong. Experimental shit seems to be running rampant. Geoff Johns is everywhere. Rotworld, Animal Man/Swamp Thing was good. DC is a good time for me.
I see what you're saying. I stand corrected.
>I just think it's silly to assume that market share = artistic evaluation
Unfortunately, this is a problem with any form of media, especially on 4chan. 90% of the time, any sort of criticism of someone's favorite thing makes them whip out a sales chart. I also won't lie, and will admit that I prefer DC over Marvel. Even if Civil War and BvS turn out to both be similarly amazing, I will like BvS more, just because.
>Man of Murder
It was good at the very least. I can understand how some people don't like it, though.
I didn't like any of it, but I recognize that TDK is actually a really good movie.
>any of the animated films from the last 3 years
Was JL War in the past 3 years? I liked it, and Throne of Atlantis. Gods and Monsters was pretty interesting, too. Didn't watch any of the Batman ones, but their earlier ones were pretty good.
The fact that you don't mention comics at all is pretty funny, because DC is undeniably trouncing Marvel in that department.
Really, /co/? Out of all the things you can critisize Caville for, you choose his looks? Seriously?
I'm sorry is Batman wearing his costume with a jacket on top with his gloves over the sleeve or is that just me?
Footage from this movie looks about as cool as those kids who make Nerf Action movies on YouTube. That mask looked like it was purchased at party city, I'm not trying to find problems they're just there!
1. It's a dream sequence (the most logical choice)
2. It's Superman working for the government to take down Batman like Dark Knight Returns (hence the soldiers with Superman patches and kneeling when he enters)
3. Uh Bizarro?
DC's has been taking the cake literally.
My first comic was a Joe Kelly and Doug Mahnke JL comic leading into the Obsidian Age storyline. First appearance of Manitou Raven post-crisis.
Flash is barely passable. The sad fact is that even Marvel's tv shows, like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, are better than DC's. Gotham is probably the most solid storyline they've got right now and it's off floating by itself.
Because most people are extremely visual and ignorant. They can only take stuff at face value. They just see a trailer where Superman takes of Batman's cowl, and Batman is wearing a trench coat, and Superman has a militia for some reason. They're not thinking about the implications, or symbolism, or the fact that this is most likely a dream sequence in the film itself. Most people just think:
>"Well that was pointless. Why is Batman wearing a trenchcoat? that's dumb lol."
These are likely the same people who watched MoS and didn't think Superman saved anyone.
Your delusion is astounding.
Everyone sees the hackneyed symbolism and understands that it's a dream sequence. This is still a predominantly visual scene and there's absolutely nothing deep about it.
>They're not thinking about the implications, or symbolism
>These are likely the same people who watched MoS and didn't think Superman saved anyone.
Jesus fucking Christ.
Then why are so many people confused by it, or caught up on simple, autistic shit like Batman's mask or coat? There are literally people in this thread who think Batman is going to be wearing a coat for the whole movie because of this scene.
Personally I don't give a shit about a dream sequence. I GET it. Batman thinks Superman is a threat because power corrupts. I don't need to be beaten over the head with a dream sequence (that better not be longer tan five minutes when all is said and done because seriously pacing is an issue).
It doesn't reveal any new insights to the characters or the movie, Emphasis on new. We knew all this already. So it feels like kind of a waste and says to me that we're in for more hamfisting to sell concepts.
The thing lacks subtlety and yet you guys are acting like its some great obfuscated truth.
>he doesn't even look THAT handsome
O-of course not
Everything in your post sums up Zack Snyder.
He is incapable of subtlety and everything he does he beats you over the head with it. That's why it's infuriating he's handed all these big stories like Watchmen so he can butcher it.
Fuck there's cases where he flat out doesn't understand the characters on base level.
I think he's a competent visual director in certain ways but he should have ZERO input on any aspect of the script, writing or what the fuck ever.
I am so pissed. I'm a Marvelfag and didn't give a fuck about BvS. But now, after watching The Man from U.N.C.L.E., I actually waiting for it to come out because of this asshole.
It just feels like such a forgone conclusion. As soon as the title was announced we KNEW the movie was going to be "Batman thinks Superman is a dick. Superman just wants to be Superman. They fight then a greater threat shows up. Then they team up and become BFFs".
This movie's job then, is to show me something, ANYTHING outside of that. Because why should I see a movie when I know the plot to it already backwards and forewards? Instead of wasting you trailers on the obvious, give us something new. The fact that they haven't kind of makes me worried that we're going to get 2 hours of "I hate you Clark! You're a dick!" and then maybe 20 minutes at best of actually getting on with all our lives and having a proper team up.
Well, we generally used to thinking how scary Batman is for criminals, but Superman is to another level when he gets angry.
This fucking idiot accuses people who says Superman didn't save people of being oblivious to symbolism, when the reason they say he didn't save people isn't because he didn't save the world but because the movie lacked symbolism and imagery of the man in the costume saving individual people. OF FUCKING COURSE IT WAS A DREAM SEQUENCE! YOU HAVE TO BE A COMPLETE FUCKING RETARD NOT TO SEE THIS. The problem remains that the symbolism and imagery of every piece of marketing for this fucking movie make Superman look like a tyrant, and further solidifies my biggest fear that the Batman/Superman fight isn't going to just serve as a pre-team up trope, but is in fact going to be the core conflict of the movie.
>I GET it. Batman thinks Superman is a threat because power corrupts. I don't need to be beaten over the head with a dream sequence (that better not be longer tan five minutes when all is said and done because seriously pacing is an issue).
>H-hey guys. You get it? It might not be obvious because I'm being subtle doing this, but you get it right? Of course you get it.
Ah, cheers, I'd seen much speculation it was a dream sequence.....but if they made Bizarro Supes look EXACTLY LIKE normal Supes that would be a bit....shit?, is that the word I'm looking for?
Will watch just for the small ears, though.
