>>77831958
There are Gotham and Supergirl talkback threads up so probably? (says the guy on the West Coast that doesn't watch much TV anyway)
I'm preparing myself for all the shitposting that's gonna happen after the trailer drops.
>>77832045
Oh, whoops. There's so much good comics tonight but I wanna wait for muh owls
>>77832084
oh Fraction IIM, you were languid at the best of times
>>77832125
Ghost and Gates vs Tony Stark.
I'd read it.
>>77832068
It will all be focused on Wonder Twig
>>77832125
dat face. Poor Thor. That is the best D: I've seen in ages.
Be sure to zoom in on the top panel so you can see ALL the "my tits are riiight here" action!

Hello Storyteller.
How come villains on a leash is such a complling story hook?
Hey thread!
>>77832125
I wonder if I'd have fonder memories if not for Larroca
>>77832188
Oh yeah, this is not long after Siege, wherein Loki was a very, very bad boy
>>77832237
because you can do a hell of a lot with it--are they gonna be good? are they gonna be bad? and there's actual tension because the path is not set out unless it's, like, fucking Crossbones
>>77832188
Did she just flash Thor? There are a lot of gods who would've been all over that.
I just want to remind everyone that Sheriff of Babylon is coming out this week, we just got the preview, and we need to buy it and like it, so we don't make King sad.
>>77832281
she 100% flashed Thor
the total filthiness of the women's section of the Raft is one of my favorite running gags in this run
>>77831844
Didn't figure him as a Sagittarius.

>Paper Girls
>Vision
>Now this
Big week, is Sheriff a mini or ongoing?
>>77832350
Mini, six issues I think
>>77832350
It's an 8 issue mini IIRC
And Midnighter is coming out too I think. The preview came out days ago so I can't even remember right.
>>77832377
Oooh, Ghost
>>77832172
>pic
There's a new Awkward Zombie out? Nice.
>It will all be focused on Wonder Twig
Sometimes I feel like they did such shitty casting on purpose just to get attention.

Seriously, Swamp Walkers better not be some alien race.

>>77832685
that was an excellent saving retcon
>>77832622
>>77832642
Can we just replace all Austen X-trades with Simonson Thor trades?
>>77832642
I think that was retconned into being an AU version of Shulkie. I can understand why.
>>77832701
Or maybe WE'RE the aliens.
>>77832733
awwwwwww yes
I love watching Cap beat up someone like Crossbones
>>77832769
there are lots of adventures with Man-Thing yet to come, I promise
>>77832607
Om nom nom. Fucking delicious.
>>77832616
Because, as a means of saving time, it was discovered that instead of peeling potatoes for Thanksgiving, they could be sliced length-wise and scooped out to make mash, while creating skins to be filled with cheese and sour cream later on. Nice thinking, Mom.
>>77832838

Sneckie was wonderful
Reboot got short-shrifted
>>77832929
And reboot didn't even get a decent finale either.
>>77833027
Yes: that's a canonical crush on Moonstone

>>77833005

>tfw into bad girls
I know that feel all to well, Man-Thing.
>>77833039
>>77833133
>>77833185
I think he followed her because she looked like Jennifer Kale.
>>77833185
Well Man-Thing exists because of a bad girl. He was a scientist working on , surprise surprise, a super soldier serum. His lover was actually a spy and tried to kill him, he fell into the swamp with his serum and became Man-Thing
>>77833156
NOOOOOOO
>>77833336
We will see Jennifer Kale later on!
>>77833156
Parker was surprised at how many people got upset over the frog.
>>77833395
It was uncharacteristically gratuitous and mean.
>>77832542RIP frog we hardly knew ye
>>77833395
Who wouldn't get upset over the frog?
>>77833505

Also, villains on a leash is a great hook because every villain has a different reason for being there and psychological issues
>>77833563

>>77833563

>>77833678
I think she's just a little affected
>>77833678
She's not English, just pretentious.
>>77832787
I love how the resolution to this conflict makes both Ghost and Tony look good.
>>77833505
Man do I love Songbird's costume in this.
>>77833749
The whole issue has a good balance of when you let up because it's not about fighting, and then when you kick the shit out of a motherfucker like Crossbones.
Gotham just introduced a really cool villain tonight
>>77833653
Trusting a manipulative ex-psychologist? Nope, nothing can go wrong here!

>>77833743
Ever since Pokemon 2000 where the protagonist says Bob is the most generic name possible I use that as stand ins.
>>77833743
How do you read Ghost's voice Anon's?
I imagine something worn and raspy with the filter of his gas-mask.
>>77833950
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>77833919
>threw himself into his work
Does that ever actually work in real life? Because it seems like exactly the way to make yourself go insane instead of taking some time to grieve.
>>77834052
Ghost isn't exactly terribly sane
>>77833936
Nah, that's John. Bob has this air of goofiness that makes it a little notable.
>>77833975
Saw this coming. These three are almost hilariously corrupt. They seem to be trying to make Lex Luthor look like a huge pussy.
>>77833964
Oh, he's definitely voiced by Doug Jones. No way in the world Ghost doesn't sound like Psycho Mantis.
did you guys see that GL spoiler? dem thigh highs are back
>>77834157
>These three are almost hilariously corrupt. They seem to be trying to make Lex Luthor look like a huge pussy.
Somebody didn't read Lex Luthor: Man of Steel.

There are a whole bunch of Hyperions running around, remember

>>77834320
I love how casual Songbird is about all the different Hyperions
>>77834204
10
Fan favourite to dwindle down.
>>77834320
Aftermath was awful, and it's a real shame because I'm "SJW" enough to appreciate a book with less typical protagonists, but Wendig is simply not a good writer.
>>77834292
I'll go with 12, but Wendig leaves after 8 and somebody else writes the last four.
>>77834350
dat eyebrow lift
"we roll exclusively by Man-Thing"
>>77834320
Seeing as how fucking evil some Hyperion's can be I'd automatically assume the worst.
>>77834406
Karla's pretty jealous, but she's also not a bad reader of character...
>>77834204
Will Marvel even allow a non-flagship book to get past 12 again?
Is thisKing Hyperion?
>>77834447
on a scale of one to Grifter/Midnighter, tho, how gay was Thor/Hyperion in Hickmanvengers
>>77834452
it'll be an interesting thing to watch! Black Panther has, like, a planned year-long story, right?
>>77834452
Even if it did,it'd just have a new #1 immediately afterwards.
As someone who bought Aftermath bc of all the buzz about non-standard protagonists I was disappointed as fuck in it.
Also the prose style was bizarre and shit, Hyperion might be cool
>>77833964
I know there's no way he can sound this young, but both the way he talks and the mask give him the voice of FFX2 Shinra in my head.
>>77834374
I like to imagine his girdle is made from steel and he can just casually bend it.
>>77834447
When is it not Kaiju
>>77834547
>>77834472
mmmmmmmmaybe
>>77834578I hate that guy. Literally edgelord Superman.
>>77834359
>I'm "SJW" enough to appreciate a book with less typical protagonists
I'd just like to point out how utterly fucking sad it is that liking non-typical protagonists (which in some cases means basically anyone who isn't white and male) apparently makes you an SJW.
>>77834574
a comics world with no kaiju in it would be a sad place
shed a tear for Kaijumax E2 Gotham, we barely saw you

I'll bow cap for it...but it didn't ever strike as that interesting a concpet

Tsk tsk, Hyperion. You should know better.
>>77834627
We got to see Barda beating things up there, I wanted a resolution of that
>>77834593
Eh, that's just how it is in this site, I'm pretty used to it.
>>77834668
do not taunt happy fun kaiju, Karla
>>77834653
When's Red Ronin coming back?
>>77834680
I'm surprised that the storytime thread I did with the jewish/gay protagonist, where about much of the male cast is also gay, has been going for a few days already
Because yeah, it can get rough
>>77834695
When Legendary's comic branch dies and Marvel gets the Godzilla rights again. So any day now.Oh shit, they're getting Conan back next aren't they?
>>77834762
Maybe they'd actually reprint the Barry Windsor Smith stuff without that awful modern coloring DH gave it
>>77834768

>>77834825
Wow, this is like the least awful and porny Land cover in...
>>77834680
I'd like to think that this reverse political correctness thing is just a joke that refuses to end, but it's not. Even idiots who think they're funny will eventually shut the fuck up. Only ting that makes sense is if it's genuine.

>>77834899
I don't, unfortunately, I got it from a massive and well-organized Thunderbolts torrent
but if it's just a few things, I might be able to upload them later for u, anon
>>77834870
It actually looks like a decent superhero cover. Are you sure there isn't another Land who did this?
>>77834924
Ooh, son, be careful about discounting the plant
>>77834872

Because a lot of /co/ reads superhero comics.
>>77834924

Um....
>>77834924
I think the only ones I'm missing are #144 and #155
>>77834925
Naw, just look at Hyperion's tumor arms and Moonstone's weird pelvis, they're Land as hell
It just doesn't look like a Land cover at first because it doesn't have that disgusting photo realism plasticky coloring
>>77834903
Because they remember the SPRING-LOAD ACTION.
>Gunna joining the team
Bout time. Not much point in her being here otherwise.
>>77834830
You'd do right to hate them.
>>77834887
That, and nobody is making orgasm faces. Moonstone's kind of making a kissy face, but that could just be written off as Karla not being impressed by the monster.
>>77834903
Goddamn USAgent was great in this run.
It's a pity nothing in his Dark Avengers run will ever be mentioned again, it was a really great arc.

All of the covers and variants have been pretty great.
I'd like to blow it up into a wall poster
I met Jeff Parker at Cinci-Comic Con and he said that when he pitched the Hyperion fight to Marvel, they suggested that Hyperion goal be to destroy the city or the world or something to give the Thunderbolts motivation. He told them that that made no sense and they were fighting him just because they didn't like him. They kept fighting for the stakes to be raised and couldn't understand that Hyperion was just an asshole.
>>77835158
you heard me
>>77835098
When is Hyperion going to use his Hyper-Ventriloquism?
>>77835195
Jeff Parker is wise.
>>77835171
There's gotta be a way. Also, speaking of Providence, goddamn that last issue was fucked up. I was impressed with how they managed to make him reading the Necronomicon so unsettling without going overboard.
Also, first issue withon-screen rapeand man was it fucked up.
>>77835217
Ooh, Karla, is that a sneaky...CONSCIENCE???
>>77835232
dat ass
>>77835229
I mean, you really get the sense that it's an alluring book. Black is literally letting time slip by while reading it - and it's pretty well written.
It's not a spell book, it's just facts as the Mad Arab saw them, which works better haha.
God that scene was fucked up. The mood works, the art works, lessons were learned from their last mini
>>77835263
This run is a spectacular showcase of Moonstone's ass

Thanks for posting as always, Storyteller.
Hyperion is a punk bitch who got his ass beat, and I'm okay with that. Now Gunna can take his place and antics about how everyone feels weird about having a cannibalistic feral teenager on the team.
>>77835437
I figured he was, they seemed pretty freaked out.
They did the time-distortion thing really well, with no-one actually coming out and telling him that he lost a week. The way they paced the whole issue just made it searingly creepy.
>>77835454
Awesome, thanks for the story time and thanks for the links
>>77835123
Being designated the Universes Jobber has given him some perspective apparently.
>>77835542
>telling him that he lost a week
He lost a month. A goddamn month.
Burrows did really good job at rendering the Witch House.
The pacing was top form.
Can't wait for Pickman's Model next issue.
>>77834186
Why is Ghost so perfect?
>>77835564
Pickman's Model is the one about the Macabre artist with a ghoul living down his well, isn't it?
I read that one in one of the Lovecraft Comic Anthologies, some really creepy shit.
I wonder if we'll get any references to He or The Festival, they both seem prime for exploiting.
>>77835657
Yeah it is.
At 12 issues here seems to be the main checklist for stories so far.
Pickman's Model.
The Rats in the Walls.
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward
The Haunter in the Dark
The Statement of Randolph Carter
>>77835586

>>77835698
Could be interesting.
I guess there's a chance that we might get a reference to He the same way we've gotten references to some of the other stories, like The Picture in the House.
>>77835737
Oh wait - it's the Picture in the House I was thinking of not Rats in the Walls haha.
That's the last method we haven't seen yet.
I'd love to see a reference to Lovecraft's romcm.
>>77835768
Oh shit, on the topic of Dr. Hill, was he the decapitated head in the movie?
>>77835847
Yeah, yeah he was.
And, by that token, so was the Canadian

Also, upon reading up on the novella, apparently Hill was in one of the ReAnimator stories as a fighter pilot that is flying West somewhere, but doesn't get reanimated because he gets shredded when there plane gets shot down.
>>77836067
Yeah, they combined both characters for the movie.
Which was a smart choice.
So, yeah - you can tell why they hot the fuck out haha
