1 HOUR LEFT!
Last thread is almost officially dead
December is batman month
Last but not least, get comfy, fasten your seat belt and get ready to enter hype city
A shot of bloody afleck in a tattered costume with the cowl down staring at a portrait of his parents the same way he was staring at the suit in the trailer. Nolans batman didn't give a shit about his parents after begins and makes no mention of them.
Nolans Batman didnt give a shit about a lot of things Batman related. And because of it we have idiots who are now wannabe bat fans and Bane is a joke
Wasnt there a rumor it was Dick instead of Jason this time around? Also is Gordon dead?
You know what? I'm bored waiting for my college class to start. To pass the time and bump the thread, I think I'll post a few of my favorite Batman and Superman fights. Starting with the obvious.
It was a simpler time when slash fanfiction was merely an odd phenomenon and not the order of the day, and brazen homoeroticism was unintentional and Superman and Batman spending a cozy evening alone together in Superman's fortress to work off stress was totally innocent.
>Starting with the obvious.
>picks one of the worst ones that started this whole "let's cash in on TDKR by having Bats and Supes fight for any fucking reason this week? Mind control? Yeah, that'll do. Instead of having it as a big thing where it's a real clash of ideals, just any old reason, the fanboys will eat this shit up."
Calm yourself autismo. I'm on my phone, so my options are limited, but I've got a better one coming up.
I'm sure we all know what happems after this. So, for my next trick...
A bit from New Frontier that everyone here seems to enjoy
Be a bro and post a link if anything comes up. I'm unfortunately unable to watch it on TV
One of my personal favorites. Partly due to the Miller-esque internal monologue
Why doe Superman's (or Wonder Woman's) superspeed never seem to work when fighting Batman? Like how is he able to react to the movements of people well beyond the speed of sound possibly reaching lightspeed?
That's all I've got folks, but I'm sure you fellas have got it from here. Whichever one of you niggers gets a decent link first better post it for those unfortunates without access to a TV
Given I expect Aquaman has a minute cameo at best- Momoa's name isn't even on the poster- I don't want to see him in any trailers cos I have a feeling they'll show all his screentime there alone.
Superspeed in general is pretty hard to balance around so they pretty much like to pretend Superman and other non-speedster characters with superspeed simply have "fast travel" and otherwise fight like a tank that can fly. As in like a real world tank which move really fast but not absurdly so and not like a movie or video game one.
Which is why you'll watch stuff like STAS or Justice League where most Superman brawls happen at normal human speed but then every once in a while he'll do a DBZ-style fucking "zip right around a nigga as he's turning around" or intercept a target he just punched into the air mid-flight. Or just catch bullets.
Every once in a while you'll see how much super speed tips the scales in Superman's favor, or with Superman vs Batman analogues like in Irredeemable.
They Already Said He will be a shirt cameo that youll probably miss if you aren't attention. So I don't know why you would thing he'll to into any of the trailers. I want to jeard Diana talking since we haven't heard her. je
Its was probably this >>77831733
Trust me, youll know when the trailer is out. /co/ has a hate boner for the DCEU. Mutliple threads will be popping up.>>77832140
Just wait home boy
It's the trailer for the trailer they keep posting. They are dickheads because they make the link appear as if it's the fucking trailer, the wankstains.
>you'll never receive a testicle paizuri from Superman
I swear compared to Marvel trailer releases you get like a thread a day after the sticky goes away.
But DC trailers you get days of threads and shitposting/baiting. But anons swear they dont care for the DCEU.
Why are they so tsundere?
Why do people interpret more hype for one film to be a hating for another?
Maybe people who are loyal to DC have a victim complex for not being able to make the snuff that Marvel does. I say this as someone who's here for the trailer for BvS because I want everyone to succeed but between Marvel supporters being arses about their success and DC supporters acting like a whimpering mutt it's difficult to sift through who is truly happy to have these films come out.
Whatever I guess, people will whinge and moan so fuck it.
Its just trends ive seen here. I guess AoU just finally broke /co/ back with the MCU. Fans just dont get hype up as much as they used to. But with DCEU all types of hype can last for weeks. MCU broke /co/ and they are too fatigued to accept care from DC and maybe Fox.
Jeezus. I don't know when I started thinking she looks hot, I know I didn't at first.
Can you count how many Man of Steel threads and memes there have been over the last 2 years vs Thor 2 or IM2 or any other mediocre marvel films?
You'd have to be pretty blind to not see that.
Its a statement of longevity. MoS we still have threafs about it. Even if its just shitposting. Because we cant get it out of our heads. We have Marvel of the month threads but the movies leave us so fast. When was the last AoU thread? Compared to the last MoS one.
>any press is good press
No, it's not, when everyone is laughing at you and not with you, it doesn't make your franchise look good, mate.
You may think all the 4 Us and baneposting threads are great for the company but it doesn't put money in DC's wallets so people can joke all they want but it's no mas.
How about you read the article instead of parroting everyone else???
They're factoring in the fact that it was uploaded to multiple accounts, which I think is kinda cheating.
Didn't the BvS trailer on the WB account exceed 30 million views in or in less than 24 hours?
Well hell fellas, I feel like we've been screwed.
Let's blow them up.
>All this waiting for 50 seconds
....that could have been a lot better
>another trailer for a trailer
Well at least I can excuse this trailer then and look forward to the JK one.
ugh, please tell me this is a nightmare sequence. I just can't imagine Superman doing this. Killing Zod? Sure he did that. Neglecting property damage? Dude, I just watcjed JLU and he carelessly BTFO Darkseid that way. But..... this feels like something Overman would do
>Tune in to Jimmy Kimmel Live this Wednesday, December 2nd, at 11:35 / 10:35 CT for the worldwide debut of the new #BatmanvSuperman: Dawn of Justice trailer. Here's an exclusive sneak.
This guy's got some fuckin' inside information. I say we kill him.
Why can't Superman land normally? Why does he have his own gestapo?
>SUPERMAN IS SO EVIL!!11!!
Why the fuck do they keep selling this shit? Almost every trailer has Batman in the light and Supes in the dark.
I don't give a shit if it's a dream sequence or not, they keep character assassinating Superman to give way to Batman fan wankery.
It literally said "SNEAK PEEK". DO you know what sneaking a peek is? A few second glance and that's it.
Are you people seriously being retarded on purpose? At least admit that you want to shitpost.
The feck? The trailers have been pretty clear that Batman's in the wrong and the one being pro-establishment for once. If Alfred's telling him he's in the wrong, it's pretty obvious which way the narrative is leaning.
It's not just Batman fans.
It also has to do with the fact that he's new to this universe and Superman is already established.
Everybody has already seen the first movie, they know what his character is.
Batman is a fucking vigilante, anon.
>all the normies don't have compulsive extensive knowledge of a film that I look for every facet in to know everything
So fucking sue them, maybe they should do a better job marketing the film instead of all this Batman fan wank.
>sneak peek of BvS during Gotham
>full trailer during the Flash and Arrow crossover event, in other channel
Warner: Fuck our TV universe.
>ot a dream if Batman's parents are not getting murdered.
I have an idea, why dont we keep the DC shit talk contained in Marvel hype threads and the Marvel shit talk in DC hype threads... so no one gets get in each other's way
Seeing Batman clear as day here made me realize how incredible this costume is. After a retarded number of movies we have a Batman finally who actually looks like Batman, and is a proper ADAPTATION rather than completely original and almost baseless design. I couldn't be happier. He looks so fucking perfect and Ben Affleck's face is a great match. Superman on the other hand....
He's on Batman's own side, and does whatever the fuck he wants. Hence the mask and lack of accountability. Sees Superman as a threat; he's gonna take him down a peg. That he's helping Luthor indirectly does not mean he's on his side.
Did the producers buy the rights to reveal the trailers to BvS and Civil War or something? I could have bought Civil War being on it since because Disney own ABC, but now I'm not so sure.
I just think Superman needs something to augment his waist if they're too good for red undies. The blue onesie just looks kind of sad, even with the fancy runes and the contours.
One of the best directors possible for comic book content. No idea why he gets so much hate.
The look of concern on Bruce's face and then....BAM.
Dust flying everywhere as Clark's minions bow.
How does that not get someone hype?
Um no, the comic con trailer had him saving people from a flood, from starvation likely, large building fire, malfunctioning or sabotaged rocket, how the FUCK is he being painted as the bad guy exactly.
What's wrong with Superman's hair?
I realize he's supposed to be evil in this sequence, but having it gelled and pulled back like that only worked for Dean Cain. Makes Cavill look like he's forty.
A few days ago someone posted that Snyder was really talented on the visual stuff
And everyone lost their shit with the "hurr durr snyder talented?????" stuff
He may make some really bad movies, but his visual stuff is fucking glorious
>Both of the biggest cape films next year will be about heroes fighting heroes
This is indeed a disturbing universe
>Batman will fight like in the comics
>Batman is a wall of muscle like in TDKR
>Comic accurate suit
>Fight scenes from MoS to compare to
This is what I'm most hyped about, we're finally getting the Batman I've always wanted to see.
There are currently 4 trailers for BvS.
3 out 4 of those trailers have Superman seem like he's an adversary for Batman. Not directly a villain but just another obstacle.
and of course today's teaser
>Chris Terrio gets top writer billing
Get fucked Goyer.
No joke, that might have been me. I feel like I'm the only one who's noticed it. He actually makes them feel likes gods. Civil War looks like a playground fight compared to these titans.
Exactly. I never actually watched the Nolan films, only because I saw a clip of Batman fighting and it looked so bad to me.. I just stayed away from them. There was that one shot in the BvS comic con trailer where Batman takes out like 3 guys in a couple of seconds.. that got me so hyped.
They're not bad movies, they're just not great comic book movies.
They're actually really entertaining. It's just unfortunate that everyone refers to those movies as the best when they talk about Batman.
I'm hoping BVS does some amazing things.
Did you see the Civil War trailer? Muted colours everywhere, former friends slugging it out, political storyline... not exactly "superheroes all team up to fight some aliens in New York" anymore.
That's my point (though the latter he's talking to Bruce). Supes in the trailers has mostly been trying to go about saving lives whilst everyone talks about him being a menace in pure J Jonah Jameson fashion.
I don't agree with that. Nolan's movies are more like crime/heist movies with a mix of a man in a bat suit thrown in here and there.
Doesn't scream Batman to me and doesn't really give off this vibe that one man can actually make a difference.
Therefore, not a comic book movie.
Why are you asking questions? Don't you read comics?
Remember the comic where Soups couldn't control (or didn't really care to control) his flight velocity? Remember the one where he gets his own group of armed soldiers to bow to him like a "god"?
He really doesn't.
I think you need to rewatch them. The only reason the boats of people don't blow up in The Dark Knight is because of one kind hearted criminal putting down the detonator.
Batman has nothing to do with the consequences in that scene.
>we have a Batman finally who actually looks like Batman,
>Looks like Batman
This trailer makes him a martyr and a hero, dude. This is more character assassination bull shit from WB and Snyder. All these people in this thread are clinging for it to be a dream sequence to keep rationalizing this bullshit. But how far up your ass does Zach Snyder's dick have to go until you realize he's fucking you?
Want know how I know you don't read comics?
In the start of that film alone it's established Batman terrified the mobs so bad they won't even meet at night anymore.
When the fuck did he ever do anything on that scale in the comics?
>Alfred is literally telling Batman he's in the wrong, but sure, he's the hero here
>this movie will lead into Justice League so Supes will definitely come out a villain here
Don't bother, I know I got myself caught too but it's obvious bait
That works out great for him with, you know, a whole movie featuring the Joker and Bane in a sequel.
Also, you probably don't read enough comics. Because there are comics where criminals are constantly looking over their shoulders. You're comparing a comic that is over 75 years old with a 2 hour movie. I'm sure you can find some examples if you actually read the books.
>You doubted Affleck when he was first announced as Batman.
Boy was I a idiot.
Neither Iron Man or Captain America are supposed to be seen as Gods, whereas Superman has always been presented with religious parallels. He's a powerful creature in the image of a man who descends from the heavens to be the people's savior. Both Captain America and Tony Stark are mortal humans.
There's not a single comic where they outright refuse to meet or operate at night. If there is it's probably some fucking out of continuity thing with Batman being some sort of superpowered or technologically advanced freak.
>if you actually read the books
>actually using this instead of an argument
>>Alfred is literally telling Batman he's in the wrong, but sure, he's the hero here
Alfred is telling Batman to stop Superman before he gets full of himself and becomes a bad guy; show him he's not invincible.
>eye make-up gone when he takes off the mask
com'on WB just address it for once, it can look good
The flaw in your argument is that they don't stop operating. Hence the joker and his henchmen and Bane literally controlling the entire city to the point where it is locked off from the rest of the country.
Go rewatch the films.
And yes. Try to pick up a book once as well.
Yes they do. For several years.
And yeah Bane takes over, but he fixes it. Like he always does, and inspires a new generation etc.
>try to pick up a book once
Okay, so No Man's Land never happened in the comics then. Bruce didn't spend all his time protesting to the government whilst the mobs took over Gotham.
So the Penguin is the entirety of Gotham's mobs now.
Grant Morrison made Gotham a relatively safe zone in the beginning of his Bat Epic until it goes villain crazy. It depends on the writer. You're incredibly naive if you think that the comics would ever introduce a completely crime-free Gotham. What you're asking is silly.
To be fair though, you're all tied up and Superman, a man who can crush coal in diamonds, has you at his mercy and is looking at you with a mixture of anger and disgust. I imagine even a guy like Batman might be caught off guard.
Not really. Grant just said that he wanted to highlight the good stuff about Gotham too, that it must be wealthy and a cultural and commercial centre, because he finds it unrealistic that anyone would want to live in a city so crazily corrupt and shitty in modern America.
And obviously it'll never happen in the comics sinceh they're eternal, but the fact Nolan's Bats has that effect means he's more effective than the comic Batman all the same.
In the New 52 Justice League it outright states that Batman has had absolutely no impact on the crime rate in Gotham since his arrival.
Exactly. It's what happens when Iron Man 1 ends and Fury tells Tony "Whoa, son; You think you're top dog here? Settle down".
Only it's a lot harder with someone as powerful as Superman.
>And obviously it'll never happen in the comics sinceh they're eternal, but the fact Nolan's Bats has that effect means he's more effective than the comic Batman all the same.
Nolanbats are an Elseworld. I'm not certain, but there has to be an Elseworld mini in which he completely cleans Gotham up, right?
Or maybe it's like Chicago where you've got wealthy neighborhoods and decent working class neighborhoods, and it's a financial center and there's tourist stuff, but then you also got shit like Englewood.
But with supervillains and stuff.
I'm not referring to Grant Morrison saying what he wanted his Gotham to be like. I'm referring to dialogue in the comic that suggests it's mostly crime free. You ask for examples. You're getting them.
You're right that obviously will never happen in the comics. That has nothing to do with how effective Batman is in the Nolan movies. Because, once again, the only thing stopping a boat from exploding is a criminals decision to not detonate it. Not anything Batman can do about it and the Nolan movies put a magnifying glass on everything Batman doesn't accomplish.
Kingdom Come springs to mind, but there he uses a fuckton of Ro-Bats or whatever. And there was one Batman who IIRC started killing and cleared up Gotham after Jason died, but then Ultraman showed up one day and killed him.
> the only thing stopping a boat from exploding is a criminals decision to not detonate it
Not Batman stopping the Joker when he tries to detonate it after, then.
>Relies on the power of love to stop crime
Doesn't sound like Batman to me. Sounds like terrible movie writing. I say that as someone who enjoyed the Dark Knight. The Batman I envision isn't perfect, but he sure as hell doesn't rely on 99% luck to get things done.
Anyway, I'm a little disappointed that the desert scene will probably be a dream sequence after all. I wanted there to be a scene where Batman actually wears a fucking jacket over his costume and fights soldiers in the desert because that is too awesome not to happen. But I guess it's just him dreaming about his fears about Superman.
I kind of find the convention of dream sequences that explain characters' fears cheesy anyway. Like, there is a better way to establish what a character fears than having a cartoony apocalypse play in their head.
Anyone else see the first trailer in IMAX? Right after the shitty cam version went up. There was a half a second clip at the end with Bats and Supes in the wreckage of the train station running at each other. At the time it was supposed to be exclusive to those screenings, but I have yet to see it in any other trailer so I it looks like they kept that promise which surprises me.
I like that part in the movie.
A big element of the first film was that Gotham is worth fighting for despite the crime, because the people there are good, even with all the social conditions that breed crime. It's just that the bad people have too much power, and the desperation creates new bad people.
The film was dark, but it would had been a bit too cynical if the ferries actually tried to blow each other up. The Joker would win too much.
It would also lessen the impact of Batman "becoming the villain" to give people the "hero they deserve" (Dent). Because they wouldn't actually deserve it.
Also, Batman has worn similar outfits twice before. Gotham by Gaslight and JSA: The Liberty Files. Get fucked.
That just made me realize that Ben completely nailed the Bat-scowl. That's nearly as important as the chin if you ask me
i dont know have you seen cavill's tits?
