I feel using Luke in that manner, would just be a lazy way to attempt to justify their Cell's existence. Because I think even now, they are still roughly 5-10 years out from the events of IV, Since End of CW would be birth of Luke and Leia, then its been I think about 10-13 years in universe because of Kanen and Asokhas age.
So unless they time skip I doubt Luke will be brought up, only if they went to Tatooine, but that would be pretty forced.
And Luke like Anakin, is absurdly powerful, even in the EU, he's regularly considered in the Top 5 for force users, I consider it to be Anakin>Luke>Emperor, but others my disagree. So as a child if he was even within a mile of Kanen or Ahsoka he would be exuding such raw power that they could notice him immediately, then Ahsoka may even feel Luke to be similar to Anakin.

Anything they consider that could make them less money will never be touched, and will most likely rot.

Rebels is on XD, just like Gravity Falls, XD is the place they put shows that aren't Disney Channel quality but make enough to not be gutted like a hung fish. If anything Rebels biggest concern is that Disney axes them and makes a Force Awakens parallel story to go with the movie.

We didn't have any real info on them in the first place. They were always supposed to be bombers with the punch of capital ships at a fraction of the cost according to the essentials guide but that was all old info and they never appeared on-screen in any relevant capacity, you just saw them flying in RotJ, not what they could do. Having them be super laser monsters is pretty neat. With everything we know about how the craft work in Star Wars it's about time we actually saw something expensive in action.
