The new trailer for 2016's most anticipated movie is about to drop!
Official Batman v Superman Gotham exclusive countdown thread
12 hours left.
Leaked photo from my dad who works in Marvel
There are few months left. So let's allocate every trinity member to each month.
Did they ever say it was the trailer? Pretty sure it's just a Batman tease and a another tease will air next Supergirl with a superman tease then we will probably finally get another trailer.
End yourself if you don't believe it, lad
You can hate DC all you want and be apart of some autist company war but you can't deny its going to be huge, whether that is a hit or bust
Nah, sneak peeks are usually 15-30sec clips. Most likely it'll be part of a fight, especially with Supes flying around doing superhuman stuff to differentiate themselves from Marvel who is predominantly just humans. If they have Wondy at the very end for a second breaking them up, that would set hype to overdrive.
Fuck you all and your console wars I'm excited for both DC and MCU
What are you guys looking forward to in the DCEU?
I want to see how they will make the likes of shazam, wonder woman and jl dark work.
Magic hasn't really been an issue to dc
3. Jl 1-2
>What are you guys looking forward to in the DCEU?
Really Hope they show the Greek Gods and mabye the New Gods.
I really don't want the Greek Gods to be all "our powers are waning from lack of worship bullshit", I want full power badass greek gods.
I want Ares outfit to be take straight out of the comics or injutice exactly.
Yeah but Darwyn really had this hard-on for Wondy being taller than Supes (who's already taller than Bruce) so bad example.
I haven't been paying attention to the actual dates announced (which really aren't real until they have a director and scripts, let's be honest here), but if they really plan to have more than a year gap between JL #1 and JL #2, that would actually be a dumb ass movie.
If the first movie is a November release, then the second movie should be out in the date this graphic currently has for Aquaman (or the following summer).
Really Want Darkseid to have this outfit...
Its better than his classic outfit, and it doesn't have those faggy exposed legs, but its not different enough to be offensive like the new 52 outfit.
And his personality should be lifted wholesale from TAS!
MoS2 wouldn't fit into their rumored plans. Looks like each of the core five League members (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash) will get a solo to help establish the universe. Then they move to teams/duos to flesh it out (Justice League, Titans instead of a Cyborg solo, Billy/Adam Shazam duo, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, etc.) with core League members giving cameos to support group movies.
>2016's most anticipated movie
>not 2016's most anticipated bomb
Can you imagine how hard it will flop? It'll flop so hard that both Warner bros will be put on suicide watch.
No one will watch it for Superman because of that shitty Man if Murder movie.
No one will watch it for Batman because it's not Christian Bale, and girls will be like "eww who's this guy he's so fat and old!"
And the name of the movie is so awful and uncessary long, no one will want to go to the box office and say "err o-one ticket for Batman vee asss S-super man Dawn of Just tice please", they'd prefer something short and simple like Civil War or Avengers.
most only knew John as Green Lantern thanks to Justice League. They went with Hal in the movie and people went
>what's wrong with the BLACK Green Lantern?
>Who the fuck is Hal Jordan
the movie sucked, so it's Johns turn
sometimes I think its just one person who just likes to shitpost regardless the topic.
Confirmed justice league members:
There's space for one more, who will it be?
I hid the last 4 ones, and they were all yesterday.
You fuckers make the same circlejerking thread everyday 5 times, and it's always the 50 same faggots.
get over yourselves already.
trolling aside, one of the things that Marvel does right and DC does wrong is the way their characters.
Marvel creates round and likable characters, that will make you care for them, and watch the movie for them. DC make their characters just flat, more statements symbols, rather than actual characters.
For example marvel creates an effect like Star Wars did with Darth Vader, or Indiana Jones did with Indiana Jones.
Nobody liked Clark in MoS*, and nobody wants to see BvS for Superman.
*of course excluding people that were invested in the character before they watched the movie.
>*of course excluding people that were invested in the character before they watched the movie.
Half of them. I liked Superman before. He was easily my favorite. I'd defend him to people that preferred Batman or Spider-man. He's not just a bland boyscout moralfag.
Now? Not only do I not count, I'm a Marvel shill for disliking this one movie.
Why do dc fans are so offensive all the fucking time?
Clark in MoS was shit, he was nothing like the Superman that people love, and Cavill's performance was at best mediocre.
>No one in the mcu is likable. If I had to pick one, it would be Scarlett
nice projecting there, but it's pretty obvious that normies like the fuck out of Stark, Cap, Loki, and many others.
>Clark in MoS was shit, he was nothing like the Superman that people love
Yes he fucking was, him being concerned that he may cause more harm than good instead of blindly doing shit does not make him entirely different than the character.
Regardless, he is not meant to be perfectly close to classic Superman, just like Nolan's Batman was not mean to be similar to Cloony's Batman.
That is the entire fucking point of a reboot, to be new and fucking different.
>That is the entire fucking point of a reboot, to be new and fucking different.
I understand your argument but if I reboot my PC and the hard drive is erased and all my files are gone, something is fucking wrong with my computer.
It actually kinda makes sense. Not him, but February is the month of love, right? Valentine's Day and all that.
Since Wonder Woman is often empowered by or close to Aphrodite in a lot of versions of the character, it could be a reference to that.
But mos did not change and serious aspects to the character besides not letting him be a mary sue that can do anything perfect.
It not being what you personally wanted does not equal it being flawed.
Get this thru you thick mother fucking skull, their are other audiences with different taste and personal preferences than you, a film being made for them and not you, is not inherently flawed on a story telling or film making level you narcissistic mother fucker.
He was a year one superman, he was still finding his way. MoS certainly had flaws (although I still really liked it), but I really don't think its portrayal of Clark was bad at all.
>Superman that people love
Which version of Superman would that be? DCAU, Donner movie?
You have no idea what those are, do you (or that there's more than one Superman)? Why are MCU-Casuals so retarded? Is it so difficult to Google shit or use Wikipedia?
Because im sick to fucking death of people being so butthurt that mos was made for people that like serious toned sci-fi movies instead of your barney watching ass that they mistake that course of action with being a film making or storytelling flaw with the finished product which it is fucking NOT!
Judge the fucking film that we got, not for what it could have been or what it never was intended to be.
>kek that's what i'm doing
No your not, your bashing it for not being the Superman people supposedly love, so your not judging it on its own merits, your judging it by how much it sucks the Donner dick mother fucker.
why would I compare a modern movie to movies made in the 70's?
>Superman people supposedly love
You know that there are multiple people ITT right? I didnt say that stuff.
>ezra in shiity tv version suit
No way it will be crap like this
We ever get to discuss this?
>Back in October of 2014, Warner Bros. released a video in which Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder and two of its stars, Ben Affleck and Amy Adams, raised awareness for bats and how many of them are dying off from a fungus called white-nose syndrome.
>Now Batman v Superman and Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is using his celebrity status to help these winged-mammals too. He even adopted a baby bat and fittingly named him... Ben.
>"Watch Henry Cavill meeting Livingstone's fruit bats at Durrell Wildlife Park in Jersey," Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust posted. "Henry came face to face with our latest arrival, a baby bat that's the latest hope for a species at serious risk of extinction in the wild. Henry wanted to help, and is doing so by naming him 'Ben', and becoming the first to adopt him.
>"You can join Henry and Durrell in showing your support, and get a fantastic adoption pack with a range of exclusive items, including a hand-signed photo of Henry with his adopted bat Ben, by adopting him too!"
He is an excellent actor and I don't doubt he will do his best depending on the script. Rewatching Social Network and The Double I realized he can really look menacing despite his voice.
I'm only a little bothered that he's never read comics but that's not really necessary for his job.
I was worried at first, but then I remembered his performance in The Social Network. He plays a snarky, condescending smart guy really well. Still not convinced he can be menacing and threatening, but we'll see.
It's make it or break it with this movie for WB/DC. If the audience doesn't like it they're fucked and so is the shared universe. Casuals only want to see Batman.
It looks aesthetically pleasing, but Snyder films always look nice - the actual story and characters are debatable. I thought MOS looked real good, the fighting was nice, first time Superman's flying looked good, but I couldn't give any shits about the characters, least of all Clark Kent.
Antman is by no means the hit you all claim. Six months ago it was all it's one of the top movies of the year, #6 or whatever it was then. Hunger Games just pushed it off the top ten for the year and by the time the year is out, it will likely be pushed off the top 15. Making it (not counting the Hulks since you Marveldrones never go there), the lowest grossing MCU movie.
If you look at ticket sales, adjusted for inflation or not, domestically of the MCU movies other than first Avengers make top 50 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm which goes to single ticket sales/admissions; and only those two, the Iron Man sequels and Guardians make the top 50 non-adjusted.
If Marvel thought they'd be making a ton of money off Antman (or Thor), they'd be greenlighting more of those, even if they have to replace Natalie Portman and make it female Thor to do so.
>not pic related
Fucking garbage. Shit taste/10 desu senpai
>That is the entire fucking point of a reboot, to be new and fucking different.
>But mos did not change and serious aspects to the character
Even assuming I agree with your central premise you're now contradicting yourself.
Batman gets December his parents were shot in the snow
Superman gets January a new year filled with hope
Wonder Woman gets February like a woman on valentines filled with chocolate hearts
>Which version of Superman would that be? DCAU, Donner movie?
>You have no idea what those are, do you (or that there's more than one Superman)?
They do share commonalities. The only other Superman that comes to mind where he has to be given an ultimatum forcing him into into revealing himself to the world is Earth One.
Doing that is a way to go certainly but it also changes the narrative; it makes Superman self-centered, unwilling tow risk his own comfort or privacy in order to serve a greater good. And that's a pretty significant change.
Not to mention that Man of Steel sets up a universe where the bad guy is the one that sets the tone for human/metahuman relationships.
Screaming "not muh" in defense of the movie just means you're making MoS your "muh".
In a recent tweet from a new account promoting the film, Jesse Eisenberg's character — Alexander Joseph Luthor Jr. —refers to his father after replying to a fictional Fortune Magazine article confirming he's actually the son of Lex Luthor, who died in 2000.
@FortuneMagazine Looking forward to reading about #LexCorp. Father would be proud.
— Lex Luthor ( @alexanderluthor) October 5, 2015
The LexCorp "sponsored article" defines the new heir as "a 31-year-old wunderkind" who managed to build upon his father's aging corporation and turn it into, "a tech darling of the Fortune 500 in what some call a superhuman feat."
He is Alexander Luthor Jr.
>In a recent tweet from a new account promoting the film, Jesse Eisenberg's character — Alexander Joseph Luthor Jr. —refers to his father after replying to a fictional Fortune Magazine article confirming he's actually the son of Lex Luthor, who died in 2000.
This is like in Amazing Spider-man where they waste Norman for no good reason.
You know what else he is? DC's version of pic related, which I can totally get behind.
What if all the villains in the dceu mirror an avenger don't we have area as well? He feels like Thor we have the joker kind of reminds me of the hulk turned white instead of green zod was captain America just a soldier
Yes, but while Lex has been the son of a successful businessman in previous iterations, their making him the revolutionary son who revitalizes his father's company and makes it better than it had been before, seemingly doing his suggestedly lauded father's legacy justice shoots up red flags of direct similarities to how MCU Tony. As someone who has never been a fan of that fuck, the potential to see an iteration of him BTFO by Superman definitely gives me a halfer desu.
> watching a trailer out of curiosity = hype
Hell me and my friends all watched it and none of us were hyped apart from one of them who is one of those MCU fan pseudo-comic book readers who gets all his info from Wikipedia. Shows the kind of fan base Marvel have.
I have no expectations for this movie. At first I was excited when the news of the movie came out but that all went away when I saw the trailer.
Looks like the same borefest Man of Steel was. They didn't even wait to give us their shitty 'deep' bullshit that a twelve year old fanfiction writer comes up with.
I don't think it would have much effect, though. Hiring a bunch of actors do play alternate roles so early will mess everything up.
Unless, cyborg and everyone in shazam is shown to be from a parallel earth. It would explain their friendship too
Sam here. I think it's just a generational thing. People that went into high school in 2010-2011 don't really understand that most of us in our mid 20s grew up with Batman and Superman and the JL. To them it just doesn't seem as big because they grew up with the MCU.
Just a movie that didn't need to be so melodramatic. The Nolan Batman movies were great, Man of Steel tried to recreate them, even used the same tone, but it didn't work. It appears that they are going to try the same thing with Batman vs. Superman.
I hope I'm wrong but them starting a trailer with a 'so deep' speech is a bad sign.
>Meanwhile Civil War's first trailer is already close to BvS's trailer views after mere DAYS
It's been 5 days and it reached 31 mil views. BvS was a little over 40 mil in the same amount of time.
>complaining about an explaination regarding the movie in the trailer
yeah sure, it'll be shit.
They make it dark to match the tone of the universe. Batman doesn't work in a campy tone if you want to take the plot seriously.
Superman's movie had the eradication of hope as its main theme. Hence the muted sunshine and the single dark scene before the invansion.
BvS will follow the same theme. Ifrst half will be light, with bright sunshine. Blinding for lex luthor. Red light/ twilight during fights. They have great cinematographers. You can look at the trailers and tell that this is going to be better than CA CW.
>Henry over chilling with the Skwad, getting tips on how to further murder his rogues
There's probably gonna be a sticky
or just leave the browser open and come back in the morning
I really hope they show this scene at the end
I think that is what they are going for in every movie.
Man of Steel opened with destruction. The only time we see hope for clark is when he is found by the Kents. After that, his whole life is just pain, people bullying him, him being afraid of his powers, all the while being asked by his father to hide them, to never let anyone know. This makes him very introspective, and rather reactive. He bursts into tears immediately ("But you are my father") or rage ("Don't touch my mother!") or calmness ("make the world smaller"). This really shows the extent of his mistrust in the world. He still, inside, believes in hope, but the world never lets him. He saw his own father die, and then started helping others without a second thought, for the pain still haunts him.
When he discovers the ship, the first genuine smile we see on his face is when he realizes Jor-El is his father. This scene is shown to be in awe, for Clark of the world he came in, and the realization that this world held the same fate, because of him. His father's death made Clark value all life. He comes to know Lois intimately just before Zod calls her. Clark identifies with her, and the struggle of keeping his identity secret finally free, he feels like a new man. Hence, the fierce, white sunlight during the scene where the ship lands.
During the fights, Clark realizes he is not as strong as he thought. The light changes from dim to bright, from when he gets beaten up to when he punches. All the while, he has hope for the world. The scene with the skulls is in red light, marking a source of weakness, and his subsequent fight with Zod.
The sun is rising when Zod learns to fly, but this time, it marks the start of Krypton, not earth. The neck snap puts him in a moral Dilemma, rather let Zod kill three people, or break his code? He understands that he would not be able to live with himself if he let those three people(or anyone else) die directly because of his actions. This makes him snap Zod's neck, but the irony here is that Clark is not supposed to win, but endure. He is not the man who wins, he takes everyone's pain while he deals with things they could not fathom. Hence, he is the Man Of Steel. He never lets his own view of the world (everlasting hope) be changed by the outer world, for it is protected by steel.
Batman is the man who wins. He can not take a bullet, and lets the world dictate his every move by its whim. He deals with lunatics and forces his view upon others, and forcibly changes what is wrong, because he can never endure it. He could not endure the death of his parents, and he goes out, looking for trouble, dressing and fighting like a man with nothing to lose, while he is the one who has lost the most.
this scene was in the triailer.
I just got a PS4 and am dying to dig into it. I hate the standard costume, but am looking forward to getting the post game as a Batman sim in the BvS suit when the movie comes out.
Yep. Same here and I guess same for all who grew up with at least DCAU.
For most people here, I think MCU is their first experience of a comicbook universe and it is special to them in the same way.
How come nobody posted the old trailer?
It looks like we might get a live action power suit.
Also, this has been a good thread, it's been up for 6 hours and has minimal company dick measuring.
Keep it up
Calling it now. Ultra man.
This movie just seems like a whole set up for a multiverse, I wouldn't be surprised if lex imported ultra man.
It explains that sinister grin at the end of the trailer.
this looks like it happens right after the fight with Zodd, I don't care but I'm pretty sure this could be reason enough for /tv/ to shitpost to no end.
So better be ready.
Man I wish fan toys of this quality were mass produced
As much as I would love multiverse shit, it's too early on and the normies wouldn't get it. They'll probably go into that stuff for either Flash or a big team up event. What I would give for a Final Crisis or Flashpoint live action movie.
it seems this time the best shots aren't even gonna be from high budget scenes.
Implying anyone in the MCU had a characterization, a decent villain or even a fucking plot.
They are joke vehicles designed to sell colorful toys and designed to make just enough money to warrant a terrible sequel that shills and casuals like you will watch.
Henry and Ben seem like cool guys. RDJ is clearly a douchebag on and off screen. The rest of the Avengers are full phoning it in. And why should they try? These movies have terrible dialogue and have no plots. Even Hawkeye said it in the last movie "This doesn't make any sense."
Post YFW you realize that DC will show a lot of Batman scenes as a result of Disney dominance
Do you really think they won't show us trailer #2?
The movie is 3 months away, a normal movie has three trailers excluding the teaser.
Plus, the civil war trailer dropped, so they are going to go all out to top it.
This thread amkes me remeber how excited I was for Age Of Ultron.....
What a pile of shit it turned out to be, with Quiptron at the helm and Pietro dead 4ever.
not implying BvS will be a POS or good. IDK how it will be.
The first two were fucking awesome and showed the film as serious as fuck. I thought Ultron was gonna get Justice as a character at last.
Trailer 3 (this is where shit went downhill)
Ultron comes second to Deadpool. At least he's getting a good costume.
This man is to be blamed.
>he does it for pussy
Anons, you have no idea how hype I was with the first trailer. Like, running around the room can't catch my breath excited. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and tell my past self what is going to happen, but I can't bring myself to take those moments of joy from him
>imploring me to believe that this trailer will have any new footage
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
I was never as critical about Snyder as other anons, I loved most of his movies, I know he sucks at writing as shown with sucker punch but with Terrio and Ben, there is nothing to fear other than critics which may kill the hype early.
I know this movie is important for the for the future DCEU as its financial success may decide which movies will be made/cancelled but I know that we are atleast gonna get the first justice league movie and it is gonna look amazing.
I waited A WHOLE FUCKING YEAR, WATCHED JUST THE FIRST TWO TRAILERS, BROUGHT FIRST DAY TICKETS AT IMAX AND QUIPTRON WAS ALL I GOT.
If Civil War is shit then there's no hope. I can't even read a marvel comic now.
The perfect wonder woman, on the right
The initial hype for the Abengers was not because it was a good movie, but because it was Avengers.
It's gonna be the same for Justice League. In all seriousness, the first movies often get a pass: it is the second movie that determines where a franchise will go.
see pic related
It will be a 3 seconds sneak peek
the reality is BvS will be an oscar worthy pop culture hit, with underperforming ticket sales, and mediocre reviews.
civil war will be fellatio'd into the Congressional Archive and Vatican Vault, and aside from the Steve/Bucky shit be a weak film.
other than Winter Soldier and Guardians, MCU has not made anything but mediocre bullshit. while Snyder has made 300, Watchmen, and MoS. Other than Based Russo's this console war shit is beyond dead.
MCU will crush DCEU but DCEU is going to have significantly better films by a full grade score or more.
MoS, even with its flaws, is the best cape flick outside Nolan's Batman work, and was the most emotionally engaging film from a genre that has so little depth.
and no im not saying "YOU JUST DONT GET IT", MoS just was the fucking shit and BvS looks just as good
I'm practising Careful Optimism this time around. Not gonna watch anything after the second trailer.
Because this is an Officially Certified Comfy™ Thread
Antje Traue looks like a Goddess.
I meant e second one decides the franchise
this is how it will go down
Gotham Pengy and Gordon going all out shooting then cuts to commercial
Now time for a Special Sneak Peek of Batman V Superman
In theaters March 25 2016
I really don't want to watch Gotham. Can't they just dump it at the very end?
>people think the next full trailer is going to be during the commercials of the midseason finale of Gotham
You do realize WB is most likely going to put the next trailer before Star Wars right?
I usually post content with the links, but the content is a video showing the Gotham cast teasing the BvS sneak peak with the episode tonight.
Can anyone tell me who was the originator of the whole "Batman fights Superman" gimmick? Frank Miller?
>people think the next full trailer is going to be during the talk show of a mediocre late night comedian
You do realize Disney is most likely going to put the next trailer before Star Wars right?
>the reality is BvS will be an oscar worthy pop culture hit
The only way this movie will win any kind of award is if Cavilleman eats a handful of sleeping pills and falls asleep permanently.
Your delusion is a special kind of delusion, though.
>these faggots thinking BvS can provide something as big as Baneposting
It can't be done.
Affleck is my sadfu. He looks cute when he's sad.
I'm from The Doldrums. This is my first ever trip to Hype City.
Once you get on the hype train, the hype never stops
