Got off just before Cataclysm, so honestly I have trouble getting the relevance some of the jokes, but they still make me chuckle.

It was an event on the level of Disney making the Journal of the Whills canon.
Or Blizzard making Legion on prologue for The Hidden Cow Expansion

Well yeah. My point was just that it came in like a thunderstorm, because everyone who was a hardcore fan was chimping out over how awesome it is than Pandaria is actually a thing and not just a joke, and all the non-hardcore fans, and non fans were chimping out over how weird it is.

I seriously had people in real life talking about it around me who I know never even played WoW or any other Blizzard game.
