Page 8 bump
>>77772321
Dang, that slow this time?
>>77772921
Talk about something interesting that doesn't need you to have been present for the past 50 threads.
>>77773192
What prevents me from just rattling off plot ideas is that they'll be called "lolrandumb" and things will spiral downward from there.
Like a /co/ntainment Thanksgiving where Voodini breaks out of his cell and keeps bringing turkey's back to life throughout the facility.
So with his army of reanimated plucked birds he flies the coop and continues to raise more of them or enchant them so when people eat them they get zombified (in the voodoo sense, not the undead sense). With the day after being Black Friday no one can really tell the difference between the hoards of people and the hoards of zombified people, so everyone is having a hard time containing the situation.
>>77772921
It's probably going to be slow until people come out of their turkey comas.
>>77773192
What kind of super powers would be in the highest demand in the work force?
>>77775425
Depends on the job. Someone like Briana would do great in construction or a contract bodyguard/PMC, whereas someone like Ladybug would be great in an engineering role. Super strength/durability would obviously work best in a physically intense job, whereas the more weird superpowers would be better for esoteric roles.
>>77775425
I always thought a person who could create a hive mind between consenting individuals would be great at getting things done.
It's perfect coordination and efficiency, so the work gets done several times faster.
It's a shame a power like that just screams super villain.
>>77775425
Speedsters and teleporters for couriers and other delivery services.
>>77775668
Well, Ladybug doesn't actually have any powers.
>>77775964
Yea but she's at least a genius engineer. Her suit would be super useful too.
>>77775982
Marley's suit was cobbled together from some existing military parts she got her hands on, and by her own admission she's not exactly top of her class at the university she's attending either. I don't think she's a genius engineer quite yet.
Still has some kind of talent, obviously, but she's no Tony Stark.
>>77775919
That'd probably be a pretty good story for the Collective. Maybe some guy with this power fancied himself a criminal mastermind, tried his hand at villainy and got taken down hard by a superhero. The Collective, eager to turn superheroes and supervillains over to normal jobs, gets their lawyers to step in for his hearing and get his sentence written up as court ordered community service that they'll oversee.
Assuming this is fairly standard practice for them, they'd probably have a decent number of other offenders or even legitimate volunteer kids with powers, as well as some who they've placed for actual jobs. Centering the story around a guy whose powers facilitate a certain amount of invasion of privacy as well as require a certain amount of trust would allow for some nice character exhibitions and a look into both how the Collective operates and how they're generally perceived.
>>77776106
Certainly a cut above average.
>>77776172
>>77775948
How would you keep a speedster or teleporter in community service?
>>77776172
You know, I don't remember much about this other /co/ thing from a few years ago, but from what I do remember about one of the characters from 5 Super Villains Walk Into A Bar, there was a character in that who got their powers in a really traumatic way, went crazy, got captured, then came to their sense when they were being interrogated which actually worked out in getting them out of jail time.
But their reputation was ruined, they were disfigured, and everyone either avoided them or went out of their way to "poke the lion" I think the expression goes.
Some of the info about this character is probably on the wiki, but as I recall, whoever was updating that page bugged off and never finished it.
Those characters would probably make for a good The Collective story.
>>77776319
I have to expect there are probably legal precedents for having criminal actions defended as temporary bouts of insanity induced by gaining superpowers.
Back in /aco/ universe.
We started talking about sandwiches.
>>77776436
I wonder what a series focused mainly around a lawyer specialized in whatever you'd call superhuman law would be like. I think General Freedom is a lawyer.
>>77776584
Slott's She-Hulk run was mostly like that.
>>77771340
>Conrad wants to read comics
>Can't because girls keep showing up
When will his suffering end?
>>77776584
I was the one who placed him in that role when exploring more of Harpoonist's years before becoming Spearhead's sidekick.
The idea is General Freedom is representing Mace during the trial of Amanda Korr, a.k.a. Professor Manticore, and that this would be the first televised trial of a major super villain.
>>77776451
The hell you are.
You're merely talking about the possibility of talking about a sandwich.
I'd like to see you try fucking the concept of the idea of discussion.
That's probably the only porn that does it for Whisper.
>>77776106
Also alien technology.
Or chemistry.
>>77777593
A sandwitch monster that lives in san Francisco.
He can eat people and his power is to shoot out ketchup. I can give you concept art of him.
>>77777876
I'm still not totally sold on calling those symbiote breeders "Ometetol" since I keep thinking they had a name given to them by the guy who was drawing them.
>>77778964
Throw some names at the thread, baby. Let's see what sticks.
>>77780110
I'm just still trying to remember the name they were given.
I remember it began with "f" since at the time I thought it was funny how two of our alien species both had names that began with "f".
The archives still being inaccessible for those months isn't helping either since I can't check if I'm not remembering this right or not.
>>77780519
Well it's unlikely that the anon responsible for their overall original design is going to pop-back anytime soon. So just throw some monikers, and if something fits, then that's it.
>>77780519
Wasn't it something like Facerenti or some shit
>>77781980
No, those are the /fa/ aliens Captain Stocking Arms a member of.
What is he a captain of, exactly?
>>77782039
Having stockings on his arms.
Idiot.
>>77782111
Who else wears stockings on their arms?
So over in the /aco/ thread and the one before it, I haven't gotten any opposition to the idea of replacing The /Co/smic Peeper with The /aco/lyte Wizard on The /Co/smic Ones line up.
Anyone here have any thoughts on the matter?
>>77784921
Was that the one that was to close to comfort to an established character? I'm down. Just exclude all that bullshit about /aco/'s western setting.
>>77785603
He was basically a perverted version of The Watcher.
And the /aco/ wizard was never part of the western setting thing, he was always said to be a step above everything else in whatever /aco/ was doing OC-wise, like a meta step above everything else.
>>77785699
I always thought it was just their version of anonymous. Like they're "/aco/lytes" or whatever.
Granted, I haven't paid any attention to what goes on over there.
>>77785755
No, We already discussed this in the thread,
>The true /aco/ wizard.
>/aco/tyles
>his father
>Cape-tan and blob-tan.
>>77785755
That's what I thought too.
They kept telling me otherwise even though it met every one of the criteria for being their board's version of /co/mrades.
I can't get a straight answer from /aco/ most of the time, there was too much belligerent bias over their board-tan fiasco for them to agree on anything for more than half a thread.
>>77781866
>>77778964
I never thought of a name for them, I wanted to give most of the creative control to other people because I can't collaborate worth a damn.
just give them a cool name though.
>>77786039
I guess I remembered things wrong then.
Ometetol is the forerunner for that alien species' name.
This is all coming about because we lost whatever /co/ archives we had and now we're trying to get more "lore" and "world building" stuff onto the wiki.
So "Symbiote Breeders (placeholder)" just wasn't doing it for me on
http://the-conservatory.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Extraterrestrial_Species_in_the_/co/verse
Which, since you're here, I might as well ask you how you feel about the info about those guys on that page.
>>77786227
>http://the-conservatory.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Extraterrestrial_Species_in_the_/co/verse
very well done, better written out than I could ever do.
>>77785854
>We already discussed this in the thread
Two or three posts don't really amount to a discussion, anon. Plus, the little wizard concept is more fun solo than with all that "family" mess.
>>77786318
Okay, I wanted to inform you guys.
>>77786303
Pretty much typed up that part of the page from memory since the threads we talked about them in are still being added to desustorage from the moe logs.
So do you have any plans to make more comic pages telling Kamrya's story?
I was liking what you drew so far, and I know I wasn't alone in that.
Dang it thread, how are you going to still be up when I get up if this keeps happening?
I'm still making up more of this Erin story with The Cryptic Skein.
I'm sort've stuck with a way to transition from the imp discussing many boring things to the pieces I have after that.
I think I'm getting off track. Well, hopefully the thread will still be up in the morning so I'll remember to look at this part and also the next and the one not yet between next so it leads into the one after that with fresh eyes.
>>77788445
Though beholden to her client, Erin found ways of passing the time by observing the shifting titles of the shelved books in the room, some patterns emerged, and even some sentences started forming across them the more she stared.
Other than that, it seemed like an effect solely meant to entice people into opening books, which came off as flirtatious at best.
After a particularly boresome and lengthy discussion about the particulars of the scribe's spoken language and the difficulties in weaving it into the written words, it was agreed that a side-by-side version of the original and a translation would be acceptable on the grounds that it's a representation of the imps' budding culture.
Once out of hearing range of the offices, Erin had a proposition for her client:
"If you would indulge me, I'll waver the return fee."
The scribe, now looking much more confident, gave Erin an inquisitive look.
"I'm going to take a much more scenic route back. I can tell you want to see more of this place, and so do I." And that was all that needed to be said between them.
So do you guys draw together or something?
>>77790796
Why, anon, is that a come-on?
>>77791135
Maybe but only platonically.
Man, I wanted to draw something too.
>>77791230
I know what you mean man. Sometime you just got to let it all out. You know?
Seeing that blushing anime man reminded me of something. What's up with Mighty Mantis? I got into the /Co/nservatory for the first time like a month back, and I was reading about him. His concept and design are really good. Why is there no more push for him?
Or does that question goes much the same for a lot of characters and stories?
>>77791274
Is he is one of those, "The legend is bigger than the man himself" sort of guy?
>>77791386
Not really? More like "The legend is now a mentor of sorts" kind of deal. Wiki says he's a bit of a paranoid loner.
>>77790796
>>77791230
Go here http://the-conservatory.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Random and draw the thing, brosephs. You can even tweak some design elements if you want to. That's how those characters were formed.
>>77791439
So rookie heroes go to him for guidance and training but he just end ups turning them down?
>>77791506
Maybe not at the begging, but I think it would play out like you say, yes. Maybe being a founding member was a different burden altogether.
His entry doesn't say much, I'm afraid.
>>77786407
i mean I'd like to, my work ethic is just shit.
also i'm out of practice, I'll try to come back more often to work on stuff, honestly I was just a bit beat working on stuff and not having people want to collaborate, which is obvious because for the most part I've made everything in the project, but I feel like it defeats the point of the thread to just work on your own project within the universe with no real outside input.
the exemplar project was pretty neat too but it also didn't really go anywhere, and I had two horses in that race so it's pretty unfortunate.
>>77792071
>>77786039
>>77792071
>>77792080
You drew these? They look amazing. Is there a place where I can follow your work?
>>77790796
We should schedule a Flockdraw. All available artists should take this time to outline their availability and we can figure out what time would allow the most of them to attend.
>>77792484
I've only seen this work on saturday nights europe time.
>>77792071
Collaborate on art or story?
I tried giving input when it came to the story whenever Duet came up, and I know you weren't the only person drawing her and those aliens.
>>77791274
It really comes down to someone wanting to do something with him.
He first appeared as just a hero Lovely Ladybug looked up to and had a crush on since childhood.
He and the other founding members of the Justice Coalition were treated more like background characters since they were the apex heroes of the hero circuit they appear in. That's changed, but it's been a slow change.
General Freedom was in his own little comic.
Mighty Mantis got expanded through the doodle comics showing his interactions with Recluse in his prime.
Skathi is going to have a major role in Cosmic Crusaders and is also in something else that's planned.
There's a lot of stuff going on, we just don't ever see it until it's done.
And the trend seems to be drawfags have too little time or too little self-esteem to finish ambitious /coc/ related things.
It's really impressive when it does happen though.
>>77791274
my biggest problem with him and similiar characters, is the high-tech armor, which is hard and time consuming to draw. Same with ALPHA, Cobalt and Clockwork prophet.
pic related is one way to be lazy while trying to draw his mech suit. Its really difficult because every part should atleast look like it has a purpose, even with cartooney designs like Jenny from my life as a teenage robot.
>>77795217
There are simpler versions of his suit.
>>77795532
I don't really like that design and was aiming for something more like >>77791274 only simpler.
Anyone have any ideas on the still two remaining positions for the 12 Demon Kings?
Orange and Teal are still undecided.
>>77794548
I'm not saying there was 0 interest, just not consistent
>>77773192
So where do you start if you have no art skills and only decent writing ability?
I've got half a dozen different settings that I think would work for webcomics, but the only person I know would be willing to collab with me is also a writer with no talent for art.
>>77798095
Without continuous visual stimuli (because I just have to accept the fact that hardly anyone reads the writefagging), it is very hard to get people to keep talking about one subject over a prolong period of time in these threads.
It turns into "Well, what have they drawn lately?"
If people see there is something happening with a certain character, then they'll discuss it, otherwise it falls to the back burner and whatever is currently being drawn takes the spotlight.
If you draw it, expect there to be talk about it, don't not draw it just because you don't see talk about it because then it falls into a loop of no discussion.
And of course discussion with no hope of pics to follow is usually discouraging, or at least that's what I've observed around here.
I could go on and on about alien stuff since that is a vast canvas that we could never hope to fill up.
>>77798422
Try writing scripts.
Sometimes that will actually get someone's attention.
>>77798983
A'ight, I can give that a shot. It's certainly somewhere to start and it beats the hell out of doing nothing.
>>77789369
Erin found that she could better navigate the Skein now, though not confidently enough to be able to find what she sought.
She knew all too well she would need another guide.
Seeing how the book heads were now dispersing from whatever recital had been going on, she decided to see if talking was a feature limited to only the fancy looking ones.
"The truth is just a lie which is easier to maintain, since all are already intimately familiar with its details."
"Yes?"
"Sorry, I'm from the fiction section. Were you about to ask me something?"
"I'm looking for a friend of mine."
"A friend? If you tell me their name, I may know where to find them."
"I don't know their name."
"A friend whose name you do not know? How curious."
"Perhaps acquaintance is the more appropriate word."
"Words, yes, what fun they are. Tell me more of them."
Erin was getting the impression that this book head's pages must not be completely filled.
Another voice perforates the surrounding air,
----
Now, what should be talking to Erin this time?
>>77797127
Moribund Marquess
>>77800276
There's a name, now what's is look like?
Humanoid?
Beast like?
A collection of wings that enforces demonic law?
A demon made out of several heads?
A fractured land mass?
Has anyone else noticed that we don't seem to use mammalian designs that much when it comes to both demons and aliens?
I know there's stigma over certain anthro designs, but how do we avoid that without everything looking reptilian?
>>77797127
The bearded baron. He has a magnificent beard, humanoid. Maybe make him fat. He has a lot of pride in his facial hair.
>>77800276
>>77801966
We shouldn't try to fill the last spots just for the sake of filling them.
Wait for a time where there's something that we would need to benefit the story and we can use them for that.
>>77797127
Unyielding Juggernaut, a colossal titan like an edifice of bone and bile.
>>77800361
Yes.
>>77801966
At first I was imagining a giant drunken dwarf, but now I'm stuck with a demonic Santa Claus as my mental picture.
>>77802155
I make up the stories I write based on conversations had in the threads.
No new discussion, no new things to add to the story.
>>77802188
I have been wanting some kind of law demon, but I think I've been too heavily influenced by Kill Six Billion Demons lately.
>>77802170
We really don't have a size reference for the kings, do we?
>>77802311
I really don't, no. I mean, one of them looking like a fractured landmass is apparently within reason, but isn't it also reasonable for one of them to be huge by king standards?
>>77802197
Im thinking itd be cool if he had a zero-tolerance for people/demons without facial hair. Like, normally he's a jolly, kind hearted saint nick around his hairy buddies. But the moment he notices someone without a beard or moustache, he goes full on berserk, raging demon mode.
In order to infiltrate his ranks, you'd have to wear a fake moustache, which could be amusing to draw.
>>77802569
Sounds more like Split-Ends' (was that her name?) grandfather than a demon king so far seeing how so many devils are hairless.
Maybe he fights baldness instead? Or does that make him into a cult-type?
>>77802488
I also mean size relative to each other.
Boss Imp is small, and The Fire Witch is apparently human sized, but as for the rest of them, I have no idea.
>>77802876
Oh, well, I had assumed you were being sarcastic.
I legitimately have next to no context for all this, I just think the designs presented are cool.
>>77803230
I can never tell when anyone is being sarcastic in these threads, so I never bother using sarcasm in them.
Context in brief:
-Demon Kings in the /co/verse
-There are 12 of them, each uses a color to represent themselves with
-They control the flow of magic on the extra-dimensional planes
-2 of them are still not designed or named
This pic is a little out of date.
>>77803369
So, if Impy is the smallest, which is the biggest?
>>77803483
Well, we also have some scale for The Glutton Lord, so he's at least five Erins tall.
The others could probably easily be in that size range, though I'd say the biggest is probably The Rune Keeper since his physical form is all... spread out from always being half way into his elemental plane of magic.
>>77803619
I kinda get the impression that they can be whatever size they feel like being, honestly.
>>77803761
With all that magic going through them, that's probably the case.
Though they probably have sizes they feel the most comfortable in or provide them with the most conveniences.
>>77803838
I'm now getting an idea about Ms/r. Juggy (if s/he) just becoming the tallest person in the room. Jokes about compensating abound.
I wonder which King would have the most/least consistent size/shape.
>>77803959
Fuck, I'm dumb.
>(if s/he was canon)
>>77803959
Probably The Rune Keeper for most inconsistent size.
He's like if a living thing were a popped water balloon that maintains its shape while expanding and contracting depending on how far into his research he is.
Or at least that's how I think of it.
>>77784921
>>77785755
>>77785854
Alright, first pass at The /aco/lyte Wizard's possible info entry to The /Co/smic Ones page over here >>>/aco/229058
I'd much rather have more input before proceeding with anything.
Bees Knees and Hummingbird should "collect nectar" together
what do the 12 demon kings represent?
>>77806197
They don't have a theme if that's what you're asking. There's no seven deadly sins thing going on around them or anything like that.
They're just the ones who came out on top of the war against The Lonely King and secured their own unlimited supplies of magic.
Their role is the stabilizing element to demonic society since they can provide demons with the magic they need to live without backstabbing each other.
>>77806059
You know what they say about birds and bees.
>>77807360
I have never understood what that has to do with sex. I don't think the story behind this saying has actually been told to any children in well over a generation or three.
So Beta Matter is blue and Delta Matter is purple, and not all symbiotes have delta/beta matter in them.
So what kinds of funky alien chemistry are in the others and what do you think they do?
>>77809909
That stuff is used for storing electrical energy.
There should be ones that can store thermal energy and convert it to muscle power.
Well, let's see if the thread lasts through the night and if anything comes of it.
I wonder if Cosmic Crusaders anon made that tumblr he was talking about to show his progress/updates on yet.
>>77802876
name of this chick? she looks pretty good?
>>77813772
Split-Ends (was that her name?)
We need a topic. Quick!
The /coc/-verse has just entered the Dark Ages.
Reimagine a character befitting the late 80s-early 90s trend.
Hard mode: female character is neither a rape victim nor a prostitute.
>>77814014
That's dumb.You're dumb.
For real, though. If there's discussion to be had, I'm interested in this, actually. >>77797127
>Orange and Teal are still undecided.
Do you mean design-wise, their story, or just the names?
>>77800276
>>77800361
>>77802311
>Moribund Marquess
>enforces demonic law
Maybe a design that borrows from pic related?
>>77807904
Cultural meme, my man.
>The Devout Symphony
>Teal
>Presides over the Immaculate Structure
A being that has often been mistaken for capital G God, obsessed with fastidiousness, order and discipline. Its true appearance is unknown, as it folds its one hundred wings around its body into a completely perfect sphere. Even the slightest misplaced feather is an obscenity, a blemish of disorder.
The Immaculate Structure is mirrored across every dimension at least up to and including fifth dimensional space, so that it can be navigated by any being, but is nearly impossible to truly fathom, giving all viewers a quiet discomfort at the realization of the limits of their scope of perception.
As demons are beings of magic, their appearance is somewhat dependent on their strength of will. Any faults or asymmetry are thought to be lapses of concentration, and a weakness of their focus. A creature so disorganized and imperfect as a human is both fascinating and abhorrent to the Devout Symphony.
>>77815845
So just a mass of folded, teal, wings? I'm down for that. The name's top, too.
Bump with some Melting Point.
Sorry I can't contribute with more at the moment, but I'm liking how the Orange Moribund Marquess, and the Teal Devout Symphony are taking shape.
Later thread. Hope you last at least a bit longer.
>>77800276
The title "Moribund" makes me think this could tie in well with a previous idea I'd had that Orange no longer had a true ruler.
When the the King of Midnight began his conquest, his power could be felt across a multitude of the demon realms. A powerful orange warlord swore to find this power and destroy it, marching out to meet him at the head of a great army. When at last the warlord saw the King, he was awed and, sensing opportunity, approached under a gesture of peace, offering himself as general of the King's army.
The King of Midnight had only just exited his realm of power, and so the warlord was the first living thing that he had seen and that had seen him, and to know that the first thing that had seen him recognized his royalty and kneeled before him pleased him beyond measure. Whereas normally the blue demon's pride and disdain would have led him to refuse, his mirth led him to accept. The warlord was rewarded with his own realm of power and fought as the sole ally of the King.
When the King was sealed away, the warlord was defeated, deposed and deboned. His flesh was feasted on, though his heart was too tough to be eaten, his skin was used as leather for the Liar's Throne, and his bones were scattered throughout the Shattered Stormfront.
It was discovered in time that any who held his heart, wore one of his bones and had sat his throne was able to command his power, but while his heart remained, it could never truly be taken. This sparked a ceaseless battle between rival demons to lay claim to the throne and the heart. Any foolish enough to believe themselves in control are called Moribund, for of course their death is soon to find them.
One need not even be an orange demon to take the throne and in fact the current Moribund is a red demon wearing the warlord's skull.
>>77817393
So the orange succession is more like the pre-color hierarchical system. EG brutal as fuck.
>>77807904
It's literally a metaphor for sticking your dick in a vagina.
Bee shoves itself into the snatch of a flower to get her pollen and make sweet nectar.
>>77818637
Where do birds come in though?
>>77814356
All of them. There's nothing decided about those two until now...
>>77815261
A crystal goldfish? I like it.
>>77815845
I like this too.
But keep in mind the demon kings have only been around for about 700 years, so if The Devout Symphony is to have been known before this, it will need to have been very powerful even before the king system was in place.
It sounds like a war machine built to coordinate the armies fighting The Lonely King.
>>77817393
One little issue is that that secret to the blue king's power wasn't discovered until some years into his war of conquest and blue was unaware that there were other sources of power like the one that he had found.
>>77817493
I just hope it doesn't end up becoming something like Larfleeze's orange lantern.
>>77819526
>One little issue is that that secret to the blue king's power wasn't discovered until some years into his war of conquest and blue was unaware that there were other sources of power like the one that he had found.
The timeline is flexible. It could easily be that the warlord didn't get access to his own realm until later on.
>>77821762
Yes, the demon power wars don't have any specifics stated, so how long they lasted is an unknown.
Could've been a year, could've been a hundred years. I guess it'll come down to whatever makes for a better story element.
Lots of information and spying happened during that war.
The demon who would become Yellow had a massive spy network that learned of Blue's secret, then the demon would become Green reverse engineered it, then the Crimson King at the time was the first to test it as his forces were the ones on the front lines.
I suppose there could've been some blue spies or treachery in the ranks that let Blue know there were other power sources like his own.
Or possibly the demon who would become Orange had spies, learned of this, then sought out one for himself and ended up in the sorry state he's in now either because he tried to take down Blue himself or because he got ganged up on.
>>77822690
It also strikes me that Blue wouldn't have any forces during this time since he was all about taking all the magic for himself.
The only reason why he started sharing even a little of his power is because he was trapped and needs a way out.
>>77824067
These guys must either be servants of the Thread Reaper or cultists who try to prevent his coming for as long as possible.
Do The /Co/smic Ones even take notice of things like the demon planes war?
Did the fae even notice it? Or was it too far removed from their Grand Narrative for them to be able to see it? Like a guy fleeing the scene of his masterpiece crime only for him and the rest of the city to be destroyed by an asteroid, making the whole ordeal moot.

You think a council will crop up around the Moribund's heart and regulate the magic distribution from it?
Or maybe a clever demon saw that there would always be fights for the heart and set up a system so demons pledged to the orange color will still get their magic supplies no matter who is in command.

>>77835186

>>77835576
Isn't Kamrya enough of a nuisance for them? Why let another one of these humans even join?

If they're officials, then they'll just tag both of them like wild animals to keep an eye on them since there's no retrieving those symbiotes now.
If they're black market, then they'll try abducting them.
That's what I'd expect anyway.

For someone who lives in an apocalyptic wasteland, she sure does like to dress up.
>>77837141
Where do you even get clothes in a wasteland?
Did the big cities raid the clothing warehouses?
>>77837462
There are several large settlements. The Pit is actually pretty huge, so people can make clothes and stuff. BQ is not Fallout 3, more like Fallout 1 and 2, except no radiation.
Well let's see if this thread will make it another night.
>>77837503
But where do they get the materials?
>>77838377
Raw materials, probably through trade and stuff. We discussed this a bit before, whereas the people on the more fertile northwest coast trade their plant-based goods with the mojave guys for mineral-based goods.
>>77827604
God, Bri getting affectionate seems like it could be pretty lethal.

What's was the deal with this girl and the mustachioed man?
>>77840367
If I remember correctly, the girl was named Riley something (Jensen?). She had the basic Flying Brick powerset, which is actually somewhat of a rarity in the /co/verse, but was about as dumb as a flying brick too. There was an attempted project including her, Anasasia and Tantrum that was abandoned and I'm not entirely sure she's technically canon any more.
The mustachioed individual is Dueling Daisy, actually a woman with a serious hormonal disorder.
>>77840345
There's a lot to love. Plus she knows her own strength, it's not like she'd crush him by accident or anything.
>>77840663
Too bad. It looked like she was comically eager to establish herself as a legit hero, or at least please a hero she admires. That Dueling Daisy concept is neat, though.
>>77840663
The Tantrum part isn't canon anymore, but she still might've teamed up with Anna when she tried the superhero thing before realizing it just wasn't for her.
>>77840765
I don't know that there were any heroes she was looking up to.
Maybe Collateral Damage Man.
>>77840367
>>77840663
>>77840765
>>77843105
Riley Werben, the flying brick. She wasn't dumb just new to the whole powers/hero thing and a little to eager to make a name for herself.
I have been trying to write a story with her having a run in with the mean teens, along with a few villains and heroes from the docs, during a nightly patrol, but I ran into a bit of roadblock with some of the characters. Quips can only take you so far when you're not sure what a character's personality is like.
>>77844757
Which ones do you need to know about?
>>77840680
That still leaves the threat of being accidentally smothered in an intimate moment by the sheer scale of her... love pillows.
Quick question.
Does anyone ever look at the wiki on mobile?
Wikia is doing it's damnedest to annoy me with "infoboxes are broken on mobile devices" and I'd like to know if anyone who actually looks at it with those has issues.
>>77846631
I check it on my iphone from time to time and it's usually fine, usually.
>>77846744
Well do the info boxes look broken or is wikia just being pushy for no reason?
>these revy-licious hotpants
>no revy-licious legs
Poor show, /co/.
Poor show.
>>77846830
Well sometimes images never load or links never work, they just send to a broken mishmash of the page I was at and the one I wanted to go to. Info boxes are tend to be fine though.
>>77846987
Weird.
Well right now wikia has stuck this huge yellow bar at the top of every regular page for me just to nag me about converting the info boxes.
I don't really want to do that since I get the feeling whatever the get converted to is going to screw up every page they're on somehow.
>>77845954

>>77848621

>>77848811
Hmm, alrighty then.
What if I have a story already built or in progress?
>>77848621
If you post any oc's in these threads you're basically giving them to /co/ and allowing anons to modify and use them.
>>77848876
You can post that too, but people might disregard it and make up something else.
>>77848876
There's another anon who recently (within the past few months) introduced something with more development story-wise than just a vague concept and it was received well enough with more suggestions and additions.
It was the story idea about JD, Wells, and Theta.
Two bros playing superhero/supervillain in a city where nothing really ever happens to drawn in tourism and a crazy person who thought they were for real and messed up their act as well as forcing their pretend roles to become real.
I don't have the full outline of that on hand, but it's easy enough to find since the archives of those threads are from after the massive archive loss.
>>77849113
>>77849097

>>77845893
It's not so much not knowing about the characters, as there not really being any thing to them beyond a couple of pictures or a description of their powers or gimmick. Shade was one that I had some ideas for, powers wise, but I quickly realized that there was nothing about her personality that was nailed down.

Maybe she likes to remain unseen?
She could've been part of an illicit program to make supers, a villainous program.
How do you think some characters should sound like to you? Like if you could connect a voice actor to a character who would they be?

Froockles designed her, right? Was there any input from them?
Also, why can't there be a "villain" that's just in it for fun? But not in an edgy way. Something more "casual". I guess Catwoman would fit that description whenever she's not in tow of meta-humans, or even Batman most of the time.
>>77852449
Heh.
Casual conversation in /co/ntainment must be serious business since one wrong word could be a death flag or prompt Springtime to take you down to the labs.
>>77852455
OK.
So she just likes to commit crimes.
But what kind of crimes?
Is she just being destructive because it's fun?
Is she stealing stuff? (We kind of have a lot of super thieves that haven't gone anywhere)
Assassination and body guarding are also options. We never really did explore whoever that guy was who Nosefire works for.
>>77852579
I don't know. How old is she supposed to be?
This is just an example, maybe not even applicable, but it was the first thing that popped into my head. I've know a bunch of graffiti writers that knowledge the illegality of it all, but still won't get up on like someone's house, or a public school. Shit like that.
So maybe she's got powers, didn't know what to do with them, went to see some heroes about it, but they were too uptight and boring for her liking. She instead goes to the other side, and sort of freelances for them. Most of them are more flexible, it's exiting, and there's even some dosh for her when the job's done. There's jobs she won't take, but most of the villains seem to like her, so they don't push the issue too much.
>>77849113
I shouldn't have left this place.

I'm waiting for one more little thing.
Also, there are still two parody centric /Co/smic Ones still on the page that are in need of revision or swapping out.
And of course, the number of members for that group isn't limited, so more can be added later.
>>77853737
OK, I have something. First issue.
It starts with JD thinking.
>For the past week, New Lamenton, that's my hometown, has been under attack by mysterious robots
Shows a montage of the robots flying through the sky or newspaper clippings.
>and their leader, a supervillain calling himself Archenemy
Shows Wells in his super suit hamming it up, committing "crimes" that aren't really crimes, but look criminal.
>But today is the day I put on my mask and make my debut as a 'hero'.
Shows JD putting on his super suit.
>"I am the Ghost"
Shows him jumping into the fray, batting away a robot
>"A hero, here to stop you!"
The fight happens, over top of it more words
>But actually, the villain
Shows them fighting some more
>Is my best friend
[back story goes here since it's been stated before]
The end of the day with both of them out of costume cracking open sodas
>Wells: "Cheers to us, bringing excitement to the people of our city."
and toasting to JD's debut and how it was a success.
>"But seriously JD, you gotta work on your witty banter."
Is there a Businessman Superhero? I know that there are Superhero Businessmen, but is there any heroes that fight for the right of the Free Market in a nice pinstripe suit?
>>77771361
gonna check out the GG pics
she is so darn cute, really wish i could draw her better because i'd do a crap ton of art for these threads
>>77857925
Do it anyway. It's better than nothing we could probably stand to balance out the sheer amount of admittedly awesome 34 she's picking up.
>>77857814
>Salary-man
>"On my world, it stands for Capital"
>>77858048
yeah, i could try i guess.
do we have any unused ideas for GG?
>>77858294
Well, I have my terrible MS paint attempt of an idea if you think you could do it better.
The suggestions I got last time I posted it was that I was trying to do too much in it.
Though I'm still not sure how to rectify that.
There's also a few other comic ideas floating around about her reoccurring dreams and also that sweater thing.
I'm sure someone else has those on hand.
>>77858294
We've got some script ideas:
>While sneaking into a gang's warehouse hideout, GG accidentally bumps something over, causing a comical chain reaction that takes out the entire gang. Silver Queen, of course, believes this was entirely on purpose.
>Rockerbilly is commanding people to riot with sound powers
>Cut to SQ and GG. "I'll take care of this musical malcontent Golden Girl! You disable the speakers!"
>GG grappling hooks up to giant novelty speakers, has to tightrope walk to them.
>This was much easier when I could see my feet. (Maybe add a pov shot to illustrate the point)
>She falls on top of RB, disabling him.
>Great job, Golden Girl! The day is saved!
>She lands on him boobs-to-face. As she gets off him in the last panel, he's staring wide-eyed up into the sky and mumbling in stunned incoherence.
>Audrey overhears at school that Billy is recruiting other boys, apparently for his gang
>SQ suggests Audrey disguise herself as a boy and infiltrate the gang
>Audrey goes along, but doesn't expect the plan to work for obvious reasons
>for obvious (to us) reasons, it works; none of the other recruits suspect a thing
>Billy doesn't realize that it's Audrey OR Golden Girl, but can't help but notice that "Audie" has a very pronounced chest
>the "gang" turns out to be Billy putting together his own rock band, separate from his supervillain activities
>Audrey doesn't make the band because she can't play any of the instruments, either due to her chest interfering or because she doesn't know how to play
>>77858641
And one more because the first post was too long:
>Wintertime
>GG has changed to her winter costume, a long-pants variation with a sweater over top (SQ is protected from the cold by her powers; possible title-panel gag here)
>GG and SQ are tracking down thieves in a shopping district who have thus far evaded all detection
>In the course of her investigation, GG's sweater gets snagged and begins to unravel without her notice
>Some store workers carrying boxes pass by and trip over the unraveling thread
>The boxes burst open, revealing all sorts of stolen goods; the thieves have been avoiding notice by disguising themselves as employees!
>SQ congratulates GG on unraveling the case
>GG looks over her ruined sweater and sighs that she unraveled more than that
We also have a couple that were fleshed into scripts if you want those as well.
>>77858675
>>77858641
thanks for the ideas, i couldn't do whole comics though. i'll take that winter outfit idea though due to the season
>>77852455
Madam Aries is a villain just in it for the fun, she practically is catwoman though.
>>77852455
Dragonfly is literally that. She's a wannabe Catwoman who steals as a hobby and to get the attentions of heroes.
>>77852455
>>77852145
>people still talk about my crummy characters
:"D
Man that feels good.
>>77860005
Everything gets brought back up eventually.
So what's her personality like?
>>77860034
Well, originally her powers were based off of her emotions, so I always imagined her pretty calm and collected, sort of like Raven from Teen Titans. The difference is that in order to use her powers, she has to experience emotion, so she shows a lot more expression when using the powers to their full potential.
She was a part of the Mean Teens idea, which was her, Venus Fly Trap, and Melting Point. She was to act as the de facto leader of the group, who reported to the higher up adult villains.
>>77859036
>>77859235
Neat.
>>77860116
Blueblood has a similar emotion-fueled power thing going on, though in BB's case she has to keep her emotions in check lest her powers run rampant. It'd be interesting to see them fight.
>>77860116
I don't hate the idea, I actually love it, even if people will complain that it's one more of the "re-tooled" concepts taken from elsewhere. But I also love the idea posted above about her just casually freelancing her abilities to shady organizations, because the heroes were too lame.
Also, if that's you Froockles, I raided your gallery since it felt wrong to post without an image.
>>77860474

>>77860607

>>77862234
She is. I'm pretty sure she's hung out with Belle once or twice and she's made out with Ladybug.
Right, well, there's still some things I'd like to talk about in this thread.
Getting feedback from >>77853737 about >>77857504

Revising those two far too parody centric /co/smic ones and any further additions that might be made to that group.
Whatever is going on with the Mean Teens among other stuff.
But if the thread doesn't make it through another night, there's always the next one.
>>77857504
>For the past week, New Lamenton – that's my hometown – has been under attack by mysterious robots
Fixed a little. Also this seems to imply there are non-mysterious robots. Not that that's necessarily untrue, just noting it.
>and their leader, a supervillain calling himself Archenemy
Would change by "led by a supervillain calling himself Archenemy." Maybe even "self-styled supervillain."
>But actually, the villain
I would alter this to something like, "But the truth is, this 'villain'..." or maybe "What nobody else knows is..."
The "but actually" is a bit too informal and abrupt.
Looks pretty serviceable though!
Does /co/ have any older characters? I'm talking from late-thirties to early-fifties?

Commander James, founder and leader of the underground wasteland Resistance, fighting the tyranny of the DFC Megacity to avenge his wife & daughter that were taken by them.
Nice little detail is the symbol on his eyepatch is the sign of the Resistance.
>>77862939
If it was set in the /co/verse all along then there would be robots.
Also, I figured Wells would need a week to establish himself as a villain before the hero shows up, otherwise it would look suspicious if they both became active on the same day.
No other heroes rising to the occasion before JD does is explained in the second arc with the time travel since the other heroes already knew what was going to happen so they don't get involved at future JD's request.

I like the villains, not everything has to be serious all the time. Villains are great because you can have all types, flamboyant and over the top to grim and menacing.
We should make more villains, a lot of heroes barely have any rogues.
>>77890279
We actually have a lot of undocumented villains.
This thread brings some attention to that with the Mean Teens members.
>>77886074
Some of the Sageworthy Society are really as in need of revision as the Cosmic Ones were, but they're too firmly entrenched to do so.
>>77891309
The thing with the Sageworthy Society is they are meant to be that way.
They're mostly supposed to be based on asshole posters who would get saged back in the day.
There's really no other way to do that without someone cringing at it and complaining about it.
But if they complain about it, then that means it was actually done right.

If these are sings of a coming revision of villains, then the ones that are "the /coc/ version of already establish groups/characters" are the first that need attention.
>>77891524
Who exactly?
>>77891471
With that group it makes sense, sure.
Have some Edge, because it feels weird to post without an image.
>>77891524
Yeah, but which ones are those?
Ma'am Aries is sort've like a Bane parody, but I like her as is.
The Collector is sort've like a Carmen Sandiego parody, but I also like her as is.
When it comes to villains, the ones currently on the wiki that aren't listed as AUs are actually already far enough removed.
>>77891608
Mean Teen [Titans] for starters? Like how the /aco/-wizard replaced that Watcher-looking character for the Cosmic Ones.
>>77891731
The Mean Teens aren't really like the Teen Titans.
The group hasn't even been expanded past the name and that Shade would be the leader.
Even who would actually be in the group isn't 100% solid.
I think the only similarities are that their handler is That Guy, who is to Nicky Two-Vests what Death Stroke is to Batman.
>>77891731
>Mean Teen [Titans] for starters?
No. The single shared quality between the two is that it is a group of teens. If you think that was unique to the Teen Titans, I have to question your credentials as a critic here.
>>77891856
>I have to question your credentials as a critic here
We need those? And here I thought I could coast with just being an amateur critic.
Chill, dude. I'm just throwing things on the wall, see if something sticks.
>>77891731
They're not the Titans though, about the only thing they have in common apart from being teens is Shade's powers having ties to her emotions.
>>77891936
Yes.
Your credentials here would be "actual knowledge of the subjects being discussed", since you seem to know "Teen" is used in the name of both groups and that's about it.
I was also on the fence with dem teenz, and the Sageworth Society, but that's mainly on me since I've only just started to skim through the /Co/nservatory. I mean, this anon >>77891471 makes a perfectly good point for them.
And since Shade and them were thought forgotten, that just leaves room for a lot of possibilities, no?
>>77892329
Ok.
I'm sorry that you think I insulted some characters you like.
>>77891845
I was thinking it would be pretty simple to tie it into >>77869937.
While tracking down her sister, Stretch ends up befriending the other members of the group and ultimately convincing them to tag along. The Mean Teens end up established mostly for the purpose of making connections in order to get info on Blackstrap's whereabouts. When the finally track her down (probably having to break her out of some supervillain prison or other), Blackstrap is pretty pissed about her sister getting into crime, since she worked so hard to provide for her trying to keep something like that from happening, but is also begrudgingly impressed with the team she's built. Stretch steps down as the leader, and Shade takes over from there.
>>77892390
Yeah, it's all good. I'm glad when I find out new people (or old people who have returned after years of absence) actually look through the wiki, makes me feel is hasn't been a wasted effort.
It also gives us some fresh perspectives.
The old wiki with /coc/ stuff from back in 2008-2009 has a lot of really parody centric characters, some interesting OC characters, and some OC characters where I can't even figure out how they they were a thing and it's probably best to just forget about them.
But this is also where a lot of the missing data about old OCs we still talk about was recovered from.
One of the issues I've had are that a lot of the parody centric characters are interwoven with other, more original characters, and separating them is tricky.
There's also the more original ones that could make it in the current /coc/ environment from back then, but they're still stuck with the heromachine designs.
>>77892590
Stretch is getting a pretty interesting story.
From participating in illicit hangar fights, to her run in with Ma'am Aries, to her doing a job with the Vixen Six, and now the Mean Teens.
She gets around.
>>77892774
Stretch's story should work best as a big, wild adventure.
>>77893310
I think characters catch on a bit better when they actually have a clear story with a set beginning and end.
The JD/Wells/Theta thing is probably as interesting as it is to me since they aren't free floating during the story, same can be said with the developments in the Motion story and I love how that is bringing in other free floating characters and giving them purpose.
Stretch can actually shine as a main characters because she can tie so many free floating characters into an actual story.
>>77893886
We need a title for JD/Wells/Theta's story.
Their uncanny relationship with one another really sells it.
>>77892668
>hasn't been a wasted effort.
Did you update the aliens part? I keep seeing the updates on the side, under the same name. Top work, mate.
>It also gives us some fresh perspectives.
I admit it was purely the timing between posts, but I have a huge boner for this take >>77853644 on this character >>77860005
>>77894213
Well the suggested title was Trinity, but the guy who is behind the story as well as myself and other interested anons all think it could use something more unique.
>>77894247
I'm pretty much the only one editing/adding anything regularly.
I should probably update the aliens page to have the new name for the symbiote breeders.
>>77894317
Well Ometetol is updated. I should probably figure out if all the the aliens on that page should have singular or plural versions of the names in the listings.
But that's for another day since it's almost 2am here.

Last bump with something that reminds me of /Co/ntainment in general, but specifically of Springtime. The story starts at 4:21.
