Blake's a fucking cat, and Yang's puns are meh tier. I like Weiss's snow pea attire and her weapon concept. I have high hopes for Ren's character development and I approve of his color scheme.

I liked how Fox handled himself in the Vol 2 finale, and Raven's there because for some reason I enjoy fluff about STRQ more than any other.

It's ruining the pacing of a show with already pretty poor sense of pace. Adding self insert characters is what turns it into bad fanfiction territory. His need to be written to like Weiss had no effect on the story in a positive way and could've been a much more easier way to write a different reason for Jaune to change his relationship with Phyrra to be closer. Also because the show could really use a lot less comic relief, hell Ruby's basically been just comic relief outside fight scenes throughout the whole first volume.

I also find Neptune didn't really ruin the pacing to anything, you could have removed him and the pace would have been the same. The problem isn't just that he's a self-insert, it's that he's served no purpose thus far, other than helping Jaune get over Weiss. He gets tossed aside in battle, and wouldn't have done anything in the 1v3 Sun was fighting until Sun basically begged and pleaded for help.
