Although I'm a long time casual TMNT fan. So I've never gotten far enough in a portrayal to where Splinter took over the foot or they did anything other than fight shredder/krane.

#51 was awful. #52 was great. Right off the bat, the Leo/Alopex fight was the kind of exciting beggining which issue 51 should have had. I wasn't bought on the new artist - too old fashioned and like old volumes. I mean, that's not bad, but it clashed with previous artists of the series. That fight, though, convinced me that he's gottten it. I now ship Leo and Alopex.

He's a character from one of the last episodes of the 80's show, Megavolt. In the cartoon he was an ex-mercenary with a Darth Vader suit and electric powers, he absorbed a bunch electicity and that transformed him into a giant bug.

Needless to say, it's shocking that he popped up at all and I don't think he'll be that similar to the character in the cartoon.

Franckly I'm not a big fan but it wasn't that awful. It was just...90's Image. One day they will reprint Mirage Volume 4 either anon. I'm only disapointed they were unable to reprint Veitch's work on Volume 1 because he was not agree.

#51 was amazing. It showed the beginning of Splinter and Leo's descent into darkness and all their friends distancing themselves from the pair.

Check out how the shadows swallow them as they talk. This book is great at building mood.

The Crane lady seemed nice but the rest are a bunch of bored immortals who like to play with the lives of mortals so they are definitely a threat.

Also Rat King can look into people's future/destiny and he kind of hints Casey might die or at least told him that his end was going to be the beginning of the downfall of the turtle family and the way Casey is right now, he is heading there.
