>mfw The Good Dinosaur came out already
What the fuck were they thinking, did they just give up on the film and release it when no one would notice!? I saw no fucking ad for this other than an standy.

>The Good Dinosaur had its premiere on November 10, 2015 in Paris, and was released in the United States on November 25, 2015.
Damn
I honestly didn't know it already premiered
Must suck some serious balls if there's not a single actual thread about it on /co/ not counting this
>>
>>77740518
i honestly thought it was going to be a 2016 release with Insideout coming out this year. I guess Pixar decided it wasn't worth the time and moved to "better [shit that sells toys])" projects. pic related
>>
>>77740482
I've seen ads for it but my eyes glaze over every time I see it. All I know is cave-boy gets adopted by dinosaurs.
>>
>>77740518
>Premiers in Paris first
Guess that explains the movie's humor
>>
This is the official /dino/ thread. If you see any other /dino/ threads redirect them here.

Seriously though did anybody go see it?
>>
>>77740482
It's a release date that puts them in position for Christmas toy sales. The timing was very intentional. Every character model in the film is designed to be turned into plastic. As for how you missed all the ads, you must have been living under a rock.

i don't watch tv or listen to the radio and use ad block. But the critics are saying it's "meh" at best. If anything, it will just make parents take their kids to see the Peanuts movie if they haven't already.
>>
MAKE ROOM! MAKE ROOM FOR GIGANTIC!
>>
>>77740567
It's premiering 06.01 where I live so I can't even see it

What happens a year from now when we want to Google for gigantic tits, buy all we get is crudely drawn Disney porn?
>>
Seriously why isn't anyone talking about this movie on the board?

The movie was adorable, funny, and had beautiful animations. It was also super cliche but I didn't give a shit because the good things it had going for it.

Obvious cash grab in the same vein as cars
Also all of the non WACKY VOICE OVER trailers have been pushing the feels so it doesn't seem as sincere
>>
>>77740568
wtf retarded kid wants THAT thing for a toy when they could have this?
>>
>>77741083

I'd probably bang Arlow's sister desu senpai

And the movie was pretty good, but the western vibe might turn off some viewers. Felt like the sequel to The Hatchet meets Old Yeller.
>>
>>77741083
...That's actually a really good point.

But now that it's out what did anons who saw it think? Should I see this, Peanuts, or go full normie and choose Star Wars?

You know that mom's buy the gifts.
>>
>be in art school 4 years ago
>talk to faculty member before class about career goals
>he says that all of his peers in the bay area were already treating pixar as toxic
>says that the best job prospect right now for cg folks is to just find a management job to deal with the asians they bring in for effects on action movies
>says the american 3D desk jockey is on their way out and that it's nothing but a complete brain drain recession in regards to the creative staff
It stung, and it still stings to see exactly that when I set out on my own.

All of these kids in my art classes who say "i want to work for pixar and disney!" or "I got into animation/3d because of gibli and Disney" are the exact type of gullible and stupid people Disney takes advantage of, that's why wage fixing is still a thing when it comes to Dreamworks and especially Disney.

They are blinded by their nostalgia to actually look to other places and their wages. Honestly, doing credit and opening sequences pays more than working on an animated film yearly. I was glad my teachers also told me doing the Disney route was practically the flipping burgers of the industry.

You just have to be smart and look into you "dream" job closer before actually setting course towards it.
