The optimistic book
There is also other preview, a superior one
And all his books wth teenagers have been complete turd.
Also, Cable & X-Force is overrated, he turned Cable into glorified radio, Hope into spoiled brat and Forge and Dr. Nemesis into pair of manchildren used to glorify the childhood he wasted on shitty video games.
And Season One was not even a story, just a bunch of jokes put between "copy this and this scene from Lee & Kirby".
>Forge and Dr. Nemesis into pair of manchildren used to glorify the childhood
Just the way we like it
Yeah. Actually this goes for everyone on the team. We actually survived Bendis and it's finally over. No more retarded black leather, no more tacticool, no more Tron lines. Fuck it feels good.
>And Season One was not even a story
X-Men Season One was kind of a mess behind the scenes. Hopeless was like the third writer on it, also his first paid gig, so he pretty much scripted out a story written by someone(s) else
Cable and X-Force was kind of weird behind the scenes, the only X-Force Hopless knew was Remender's because he didn't read comics until college. So he was told that Cable, Colossus, and Domino had to be on the team by editorial and he could make up the rest
source on all this is his recent interview on Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men
Hopeless doesn't have luck, does he?
He didn't want to do Avengers Arena, he wanted to go straight to Avengers Undercover, but Marvel sort of forced him to do AA. And when he finally could do Undercover, his name was so toxic, that no one bought the book.
No kidding. What they did to Magneto and Emma was a crime against humanity. But I would have been able to roll wit it had it actually served a point, like a symbol of a genuine revolution. But of course Bendis only cares about slice of life. Shit they should have just kept Gillen on the main book, and give Bendis some kind of behind the scenes shit, like Cyke and his team chilling out between guerrilla raids, pushing their shit on social media, doing propaganda documentaries, whatever.
I think what he wanted was to do a comic with just the Braddock Academy kids and Avengers Arena was just one story arc he had planned
I wonder if he was straight up given a kill list by an editor
Ultimately the behind the scenes stuff doesn't matter because unless he wants to explain those stories to every reader the finished product is what matters the most. Sometimes turning down an assignment can be the smart choice
It's really boring to explain this again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again.
It's like you faggots are doing it on purpose
What Marvel citizens think of Scarlet Witch / Vision relationship
Hint: They burned their house
People keep saying it cause its a big flaw in the story. You cant have the world hating and fear people with superpowers, BUT ONLY IF THEY WERE BORN WITH THEM
People dont work that way
The premonition of House of M long before Bendis and Byrne
Who died and made you an expert on how people work?
People do many irrational things, like being hyped for Civil War.
And if I kept Iron Man scans, I would also post the scans when Tony Stark fuck ups and has an angry mob outside of his factory as well. Not to mention Spider-Man being a menace for a very long time.
>the best artist working on X-Men comics while the core book has fucking Ramos
>it's wasted on fucking Hopeless
What is Marvel's problem? Just give me the good artists with the good writers instead of pairing all their good people with fucking Bendis or Humphries or Hopeless.
Because no one would believe them, and for many citizens, they don't care. They are angry, and any reason is good for them.
Also, over decades there were many approaches to the mutants outside of x-books.
Give me a while
I will now storytime a peculiar marvel comic.
You see, early in the 00s marvel published a series of comics that were presenting HOW marvel citizens seen various characters.
It was basically Marvel Comics in-universe.
You had Daredevil being portrayed as a mix of Ghost Rider and Punisher, Captain America being a progaganda book, FF being a celebrity tabloid, Spider-Man being a scary alien, and X-Men, a suicide squad.
This is also one of the earlies Mark Millar's work for Marvel
It's worth noting that Doctor Strange is featured here, even if he isn't mutant, because Marvel citizens are dumb, and think of him as one. Also, anyone who read Doctor Strange series knows that ocassionaly, there were angry mobs protesting against Dr Strange and calling magic unnatural, and a violation of physics law.
Yes, MU citizens are strawmen
And that's it. I feel a little sleepy, but I'll try to find that spider-man issue when a dude is killed, because he is mistaken for a mutant.
Also, it's worth noting that over years there were also many done-in-one stories presenting casual life of mutants and how they handled their powers. Even in Alias, you have some interesting arc about a girl that pretends to be a mutant to be edgy teenager.
yeah because it's not like people hated a specific group of people for beink bankers and moneylenders but were perfectly fine with other people being bankers and moneylenders as long as they didn't belong to that group.
because that wouldn't make sense.
>The leak that has had things confirmed
The same "leak" that had multiple things confirmed fake. Just because Rich Johnston made a blog post about some anon posting made up shit on /co/ doesn't make it true.
>I wonder if he was straight up given a kill list by an editor
According to interviews, he was free to kill damn near whomever he wanted.
Behind the scenes things may have contributed to Arena and Undercover being shit, but Hopeless did it no favors either. He chose who to kill and how, he chose to make the death's be real in a futile attempt to make them matter, and he chose to portray the characters as he did.
His situation sucked, but he still shit the bed.
I hate this "back to the future" arc that's happening right now, get rid of them and send them back already.
Although I like angel's new power he should have had cosmic powers in the first place, something similar to havoc's
>People dont work that way
Oh bullshit, humankind is notoriously contradictory in everything it does. We will take anything superficially different and start hating it out of pure ignorance, fear, malice or just plain stupidity.
>Danger is everywhere
and here I thought she wouldn't show up again.
No. That's better. At least she had a personality back then.
Now she's just a generic action girl. Good job Bendis, good job Soule, Now every writer comes in and has no need to research anything because there's nothing to research anymore. She's truly Logan with tits now and nothing else.
>the big giant X on his face.
>not liking Scott literally giving Xs to people
They did more than that. Full blown terrorist attacks and Cap had to go on stakeout over their place to prevent riots.
It honestly baffles me that there are people who think Spider-man has always been beloved by New York.
Good as it is, folks here probably won't want to care or be pitched on about our cross board fanfic quest from /tg/.
Also, why pitch it out here. Its a player heavy quest as it is.
I read this in Dr. Kreiger's voice for some reason.
>X-Men Season One was kind of a mess behind the scenes.
>Cable and X-Force was kind of weird behind the scenes,
>source on all this is his recent interview on Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men
Like the three contradictionary backstories of Arena? 5 bucks he lies.
>He didn't want to do Avengers Arena, he wanted to go straight to Avengers Undercover
Another contradictionary backstory of this book given to make excuses for him.
Do I hear five?
He is not having an exclusive contract, right? Then yes, he can turn it down. He is not an employee yet, most of the reasons why writers want exclusive contracts is that they become real employees, not just some guy taking whichever work they offer.
Extraordinary if Illyana is your waifu.
it is. People like that are the goddam reason why comics industry is such shit - they will buy anything with their fave, no matter how bad it is. Which leads Big Two to try to ramp up the controversy to make free publicity from all the angry fanboy uproar, since they will still buy the book. Which leads to shit like Avengers Arena.
Avengers Arena, which was written by guy who writes this book above and is a fine proof this is gonna suck balls
>if Illyana is your waifu
Shit. I'll have to at least check it out then.
I remember someone once said everybody is someone's favorite character. Is it true? I don't know many Abigail Brand fans.
>Extraordinary if Illyana is your waifu.
Lemire has made her his waifu and ruined her for all other waifufags that remember what her character is actually supposed to be. Bendis was better to the character.
There is a difference between having a favorite character and being obsessed idiot who buys books they don't like or don't enjoy just to have full collection. Generally if a book is bad, don't buy it, ESPECIALLY if it has your farvorite character - if you do buy it publisher will be more likely to keep whatever shitty direction has been given to them in that book. It's fucking simple. Completionists ruin comics for everyone else.
Don't forget the retards that buy books for it's art instead of story. It gives people the false interpretation that it's the writing that makes it popular. And then they use the excuse that they're "supporting the artist" when it's always the writer that's front and center.
If you want to support the artist, buy their indie works. Marvel book selling around 20k is bad sales and artist rather won't get much. Image book selling around 20k means writer and artist buy everyone a drink to celebrate large amount of money.
