I mean Carol's fine, but to be honest all runs of Captain Marvel (mostly Genis, Phyla, and Marv) were the groundwork for the DNR stuff and modern GoTG runs. Sadly we'll probably never see these characters. I know for a fact they would be popular if Marvel pushed them. Genis and Phyla already have LOADS of characterization and personality from Peter David's run and Fabian Nicieza.

He's the reason I got into comics and drawing in the first place. Despite the xtreme 90's stigma, all the shitty retcons, and poor plots past issue 50, I still love this guy and will argue that the HBO show is one of the best super hero shows out there.

Never read his debut in Silver Surfer or his run on the Thunderbolts, so can't comment.
