The other two are a guy raised by Rebellion members and an ace pilot and a guy that was raised to be a stormtrooper his whole life...and then of course instead of Chewbacca we have Maz Kanata a 1,000 year old Force user.

A lot of the events are the same but the characters seem wildly different outside Rey.

The first game is fantastic and has a great story despite what some idiots here would tell you.

Everything that happens is completely justifiable within Star Wars, you just weren't supposed to take Galen's power level as canon since it was turned up so players could have fun with the game. They said it was meant to be a tall-tale, that the events occurred, but how they happened smudged so the player would have more fun. Like instead of pulling down the Star Destroyer you choke out the helmsman making it crash, stuff like that.

Second game had development problems with roughly half or more of the staff being fired halfway through development. The story got murky when it delved into Jedi cloning in their attempt to explain it away within the universe.

George is really good at worldbuilding, and directing anything that isn't actors.

He can make really powerful and atmospheric moments when there's no dialog happening, and he's great at coming up with this brilliant world and saga that really feels like a mythic tale.

But George has 3 big flaws.
1. He's a terrible writer. He can make good stories in the large scale, but can't write scripts. His dialog is god-awful and he does a bad job of communicating important ideas, making his plots feel disjointed, and emphasize the wrong ideas.
2. He's terrible at working with actors. He just like, doesn't get them, and can't direct actors for beans.
3. He's obsessed with technical innovation. This actually ended up really helping the OT be as successful as it was, but ended up condemning the prequels. People really liked the OT's groundbreaking effects, but not the prequel's.

When it came time to do the prequels, George was every bit as competent as he was in the OT. Hell, in a lot of ways, George's contributions were actually better than what he put into the OT. But unfortunately, he was famous now, he had a reputation. No one else had creative input, there was nobody there to tell him no, to reign him in, to help write scripts.

Let's be honest, the OT isn't that well written already. But it's better written than the prequels at least. Nobody was there to reign in George and fix his scripts. No one was there to help the actors. The actors also found great difficulty because of the abundance of cg, nothing like that had been done before, and no one really knew how to react to what was around them, they simply didn't know what was around them.

Honestly, if there had been more collaboration, the prequels could have been better than the OT, I really think they could have. But George's writing and directing are so bad, the whole thing just crashed and burned. Though honestly, the overuse of cg still probably would have still happened with other people.
