>They're both African, so that means they have to get married
Who made this decision? Eric Cartman?
>Black characters can't marry black characters because that's racist
It's not that, it's the fact that two completely separate African characters in the Marvel universe were retconned to be childhood friends and lovers decades after their creation, for no reason other than "they are both from Africa so that means they have to be connected."
Her parents were ambassadors. They died and she was left as an orphan in foreign country. She was a pickpocket before her powers manifested and then a tribe worshiped her as a goddess before Xavier found her and offered her a spot on the team.

This. Africa's just one big place of black people, so everyone's interchangeable, right?
Fuck this, give me Storm/Thor anyday.
Claremont era, back then all the sophisticated villains wanted to give her the D. Doom and Loki both had a thing for her.
Hell after he bit her Dracula gave her a scarf to wear with an embroidered D on it
I thought it was cute...
You do know Claremont wrote their original meeting in Marvel Team up?
Perhaps it's the possibility that no thought may have been put into the pairing other than the fact that their black, with the childhood bonding thing being a tool to achieve the black power couple.
I don't have a link to the interview but Claremont said BP was the only character he could see that was good enough for Storm but he didn't have dibs on the character because he was with the Avengers back then
Is it easier nowadays to pair characters from different offices/teams? If Claremont couldn't do it back then (I remember Chris being a big fish in those days so it must have been some restriction) why Hudlin was allowed?
She still grew up in fucking Egypt, which is fucking Africa.
This Storm ain't even all that African shit is dumb as fuck. She lived most of her life on the continent as a poor street rat and then went on to live posing as a god damn witch. I dunno what about those strikes her up as a RED BLOODED AMERICAN over African.
It was literally done to justify pairing them since they had barely interacted before. Basically instead of going "these two have good chemistry, I'm gonna pair them," he went "these two are Africans, I'm gonna invent a bunch of bullshit to justify them being together."
>the country that keeps the cure for cancer to itself because "le evil westerners would make it a weapon
Africans usually marry other africans, only in Ameica where multiculturalism is so forced does anyone try otherwise.
She's a mutant. Mutants aren't people.
What do you have against meming
Let's go full circle with this
>give me Storm/Thor anyday
Why, because they both control thunder?
Back then people actually kept track of what characters were doing in each issue and how they acted. Now you have shit like Karma going from billionaire to hobo because "fuck continuity, we need to be able to tell our shitty stories without strings".
